I would like to recommend Dr. Byron Long for anyone seeking eyelid surgery. I had absolutely no problems with the procedure and it is one of the best things I have ever experienced. My vision is 100% improved with the procedure. more

I went to Marietta Eye Clinic for my LASIK. I must say if there was a small wait time it was WELL WORTH IT! I had been to 3 other LASIK evaluations prior to this exam. At all 3 I never met with the actually surgeon whom was going to do the LASIK surgery. Here at Marietta Eye Clinic I was able to sit down with the Doctor at every visit to discuss my concerns. My confidents and trust in the doctor was let along the reason I chose Marietta Eye Clinic for my LASIK. It was by far the best decision I’ve ever made and the best money that I’ve ever spent. I would highly recommend going here for LASIK. I would stay away from all of the “chain LASIK compactors” and put my trust in a well-established eye care professional. Marietta Eye Clinic is the best place for LASIK and wouldnt trust anyone else!\r \r TWO Thumbs UP!!!!!!!! more

Absolutely unacceptable wait time. Appointment was 11:45. We waited for 45 minutes to get an precursory vision test than another 60 minutes to see the doctor. \r We ordered my son glasses from the optician here - it required nearly 10 days to arrive and I had to call to check on them. When I called I was told ""we left a message"" but I never received the message more

If I could, I would give MEC zero stars! My 9 month old daughter was referred here because of a clogged eye duct. When I called to make an appointment they couldn't fit me in for a month. That's fine...I understand doctors offices are busy. My appointment was at 930am, early enough so I could make it home in time for my daughters morning nap. I even got there early - unheard of now that I have a baby! I waited to be called back to a room for 90 minutes. The reason for the wait was there were too many people coming in for post-op check ups. NOT MY PROBLEM! I made my appoinment a month ago. Once I was put in a room to see a doctor I waited another HOUR until anyone came in to see us. Waiting for 2.5 hours with an infant is not fun. And it was now past her nap time. I was irate. The doctor came in to tell me the tear duct was clogged (DUH!) and that I needed to schedule a procedure to fix it. Waited that long for 3 minutes with the doctor who told me everything I already knew.\r \r A few weeks later I finally called to schedule the procedure. I left a voicemail for Gloria who took 5 days to get back to me. She wouldn't schedule the procedure without talking to Dr. Ho and said she would call me back the next day. 4 days later I called Gloria again. She actually answered her phone and said - oh, let me call you right back. I have to clarify something. Still waiting to hear back from her.\r The lack of good customer service is so annoying and frustrating. I'm so tired of waiting around for this business. I sincerely hope they don't treat all their patients this way. I've already called a new eye group (Thomas Eye Group) and they are seeing me tomorrow! I would NEVER recommend Marietta Eye Clinic to anyone...ever. more

THEIR MISTAKE -- MY HUSBAND IS NOW DYING 6/25/2011

Please be VERY wary of this group. Dr. Posner MISSED a melanoma in my husband’s eye. The tumor was huge (took up 1/3 of his eye) and there is no reason on earth he should’ve missed it. My husband, father of two little boys, is now dying of metastatic ocular melanoma. Think twice before trusting your vision to this medical practice. more

Great Place for the Entire Family! 11/3/2010

My entire family are patients of Marietta Eye Clinic, we all see Dr. Ho. We love him and his nurse Tammy! I am also very thankful for their great optical department , they have a teriffic selection of kids frames, and the staff has been very helpful every time my daughter needs new glasses. more

Confident Care 11/1/2010

My entire family comes to see Dr. Ho, we feel very confident in the care he provides. Our vision insurances changes about every year, and he has taken every policy we've had (including the VSP we have currently) -I love that! more

Great Customer Service! 10/7/2010

I don't usually write many reviews (although I do read my fair share), but good customer service is so rare these days I feel I must give credit where it's due. \r I have a crazy work schedule, and the person on the phone was very patient with me while she worked to find an appointment that worked for me. I was greeted with genuine smiles from the moment I arrived for my appointment, and Dr. Thurschwell and his nurse did a great (and thorough) exam. I never look forward to having my eyes checked, but I will dread it a little less next year knowing that I will return to this office. more

Stay away from East Cobb office!! 8/3/2009

I cannot speak for the other offices, but I would absolutely NOT recommend the East Cobb office! They were very deceptive about the eye exam pricing. After I signed a letter that I did NOT want a contact lens fitting, they did one anyway and then charged me $100....when they didn't even do the fitting; nothing was done. On top of that, I was then continually made to feel guilty because I complained. They tried to turn it into something personal with the lens tech when it was absolutely nothing to do with her. I was forced to order my contacts from them because they would not release my prescription even after paying the $100. It has been a month and my lens are still not in and when I call about them they tell me they need to check into it and call me back. Never get a call back. And, just as the other comments have stated, the service is sub-par. The doctor is only in there for 2 minutes, glances at your eyes and that is it. I will never, ever go to this place again. Dirty, dirty business operations and bad business ethics. Not even worth the one star I have to rate. Cons: deceptive, over-charge, use guilt trips, sub-par service more

Cattle Call 7/15/2009

At the East Cobb clinic, my experience was as follows: the assistant performed the majority of the exam and then proceeded to tell me what I could and couldn't see. The doctor finally arrived, he grunted, and read what the assistant wrote. He glanced at my eyes and then wrote a prescription on his way out the door. At first, I thought it was me but I noticed that he acted as though every patient was a bother. The Canton Road location had a good Glaucoma doctor but, unfortunately, she went out on maternity leave. I would not recommend the East Cobb branch of Marietta Eye Clinic. Since my experience at the East Cobb location, I'm looking for a new doctor. Pros: Good Glaucoma Doctor Cons: Eye exams are anything but good more

SHADY insurance practices 7/13/2009

I went to the Windy Hill location of the Marietta Eye Clinic and had an exam. The office was nice (if slow)until I got the BILL from my insurance company. When I was in the office I asked them how much my exam would be and they fobbed me off with ""We are still checking your insurance and you just have to pay your $10 co-pay."" When I got the bill they charged me $233.00 for an eye exam that is $80-100 anywhere else! And even though the machine analyzes my eye for the contact base curve they told me that if I could recall the base curve it would be cheaper because otherwise they would have to charge me a fee to analyze my results! What? Isn't that what the $233 was for? I called after I received the insurance claim in the mail and asked what the price of a new patient contact eye exam was and was told $140. I asked why I was charged $233 to my insurance and the receptionist said the $140 price was a same day discount for paying in cash. It would have been cheaper to pay cash and file a claim to my insurance company. THIS IS A sophisticated form of FRAUD!!!! The price should be the same regardless of whether you pay cash or have insurance! STAY AWAY! I consider this to be SHADY dealings! Thankfully I did not order my contacts from them. UPDATE*** I called my vision insurance carrier to notify them of the inflated cost and THEY DO NOT CARE! What is wrong with our health care system when a company is not concerned about an additional $100 cost for insurance customers? Cons: Slow, 2 different prices for cash v. insurance more

Watch your wallet 7/21/2008

They only reason I gave them 1 star is because you have to give them something.\r Keep your hand on your wallet if you go to the Marietta Eye Clinic. The Dr.'s will tell you that your insurance will cover everything and take all these useless pictures of the inside of your eye and then they aren't covered by insurance. They Dr.'s are there to run the bill up. My insurance is great but they even said that I was taken for a ride by Marietta Eye Clinic. They have few ethics and are driven by greed.\r When I complained to the billing dept. they said ""oops"" we billed you they wrong amount and reduced my portion by $100 (you can imagine what it was before it was reduced). So don't trust them to be honest with you and don't let them tell you what you need - they are only in it for the money.\r All I went in for was a routine eye checkup and a glaucoma test. Now I need to take a loan to pay my bill. more

Great LASIK experience 5/30/2008

If you are interested in having LASIK done and are wary of the ""LASIK factories', this is the place to go. Dr. Corwin did the whole exam himself, explained everything in detail, answered all my questions and did all the exams after the surgery himself. I went to LasikPlus and was told the only time I would see the surgeon would be the day of the surgery. (Are they crazy? Would I have heart surgery without meeting the doctor beforehand?) I wanted to ask him some questions and the doctor who saw me there told me ""he'll just tell you the same thing I did"". Marietta Eye Clinic was a totally diffrent experience. I'm seeing 20/20 now. Was a breeze! So glad I had it done here. And price was really no different from the factories. Great experience and great value. Pros: Dr. Corwin, great LASIK experience, nice facilities, convenient location in Cobb more

post care neglect and rudeness. 5/13/2008

I've seen them before and found them thorough, but slow. Today it took over 2 hours for a standard exam, and I barely saw the doctor - it was all wait time. Ridiculous, but that was just the beginning. \r \r When I left the office today my right eye felt irritated. Six hours later I can barely see out of it. I phoned but never got past the receptionist who acted as if I had no right to phone with a concern after a visit. When pressed, she said the doctors had gone home, (it was 4:15). I asked what I should do, and she said just wait. \r \r WAIT?\r \r When I asked to speak to someone, she argued with me, but left, and then came back and said the tech said to just wait. She then told me it wasn't that bad, so long as my vision hadn't changed. \r \r WHAT? \r \r I said but it HAD, so she asked what I expected her to do. I said, ""what do you usually do in a case like this?"" There was silence. I asked again, and she said I could make another appointment. I asked if they had a system for patients with post appointment concerns, and she repeated that I could make an appointment. Eventually a second person got on and offered to make me an appointment. I asked when I'd be seen, and she said I could be seen tomorrow at another office (40 minutes further away). I asked what I would be charged for this, and she said they'd charge whatever my regular copay was. \r \r EXCUSE ME?\r \r I've liked the care here in the past, but any doctor seems good as long as nothing goes wrong; the real measure is how they handle problems. The attitude of the receptionist and having NO system for post appointment problems was shocking. They acted as if they were a nail salon and the problem was a bit of spilled polish, not eyes they are treating.\r \r This place serves up BAD medicine. Pros: thorough exams, doctors seem knowledgable Cons: expensive, very slow, and appalling after care more

Excellent Examination 1/10/2008

Very thorough examination. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Corwin was professional and took time to explain everything clearly. Minimal wait time. Highly recommend! Pros: Very thorough exam Cons: Very large office more
