Review content:
I went to the Windy Hill location of the Marietta Eye Clinic and had an exam. The office was nice (if slow)until I got the BILL from my insurance company. When I was in the office I asked them how much my exam would be and they fobbed me off with ""We are still checking your insurance and you just have to pay your $10 co-pay."" When I got the bill they charged me $233.00 for an eye exam that is $80-100 anywhere else! And even though the machine analyzes my eye for the contact base curve they told me that if I could recall the base curve it would be cheaper because otherwise they would have to charge me a fee to analyze my results! What? Isn't that what the $233 was for? I called after I received the insurance claim in the mail and asked what the price of a new patient contact eye exam was and was told $140. I asked why I was charged $233 to my insurance and the receptionist said the $140 price was a same day discount for paying in cash. It would have been cheaper to pay cash and file a claim to my insurance company. THIS IS A sophisticated form of FRAUD!!!! The price should be the same regardless of whether you pay cash or have insurance! STAY AWAY! I consider this to be SHADY dealings! Thankfully I did not order my contacts from them. UPDATE*** I called my vision insurance carrier to notify them of the inflated cost and THEY DO NOT CARE! What is wrong with our health care system when a company is not concerned about an additional $100 cost for insurance customers? Cons: Slow, 2 different prices for cash v. insurance
