Response by Mantych Electric Inc to Jeremiah Dillon (aka Jeremiah D) of Chem-Dry of Wake County. \r \r Mr. Dillon was contacted by Mantych Electric Inc at the request of one of his customers to restore power in their home. Seems Chem-Dry’s technician plugged in a piece of equipment which de-energized the circuit and Mr. Dillon troubleshot the problem as a defective AFCI breaker and requested a quote based on his assessment. Gave him a phone quote of $145.00 to replace the breaker if needed. Mantych Electric Inc agreed to ‘restore’ power to the circuit for a not to exceed price of $145.00. Turned out the AFCI breaker was not the problem and did not even control the de-energized receptacles and lights. Mantych Electric Inc restored the power to the circuit, that was energized before Chem-Dry of Wake County of plugged in their equipment and de-energized after the equipments use, and billed them $120.00 if paid with-in 10 days and $135.00 if not. Both were below the expected expenditure of $145.00. Upon receipt of Mantych Electric Inc’s Invoice, Amy Dillon called and said Chem-Dry of Wake County was not going to pay the invoice because they did not think they caused the problem. (Honestly I could not determine if their equipment cause the problem or not, all I know for sure is the circuit was working before their equipment was plugged in and not working after and Chem-Dry of Wake County authorized the restoration of power for $145.00) When I told her I was looking at Chem-Dry for payment she started talking, complaining, saying there was no way it was their fault and on and on and on. I could not get a word in edge wise and in a stern but civil tongue told her “if you would shut up a minute so I could talk maybe we can resolve this matter” to which she hung up the phone. I never used indecent or threatening language (really never got the chance). Have tried to contact Chem-Dry of Wake County several times to resolve this matter but only response from them have been some very non-business like emails. I cannot speak of the quality of their work as I do not have firsthand experience but can speak of their integrity, and it is lacking. The Chem-Dry product may be very good but this franchisee is giving them a bad reputation as is evidenced by the many bad reviews on the web (check’em out). My advice is use Chem-Dry but not Chem-Dry of Wake County. There are several more franchisees local to the area with much better reputations.\r more

I spoke with this gentleman, authorizing certain work to be completed. Mantych completed other, separate, unauthorized work and billed me. When a female representative from my company spoke with Mantych in regard to billing details and work completed, Mantych repeatedly told my representative to 'shut up.' Foul language and abuse by others is not tolerated and the call was ended. I suggest Mr Mantych complete a sensitivity course and learn how to work better with others, to include better language. more
