Great Dental Specialists 5/21/2012

I picked their office from list of providers in Manhattan Beach. And I am very happy with my choice. I had a broken tooth that need a root canal and they have a root canal specialist in the same office that also accepted my insurance. Dr Wong the specialist was absolutely great. I did not have pain during or after the root canal. Dr Lee did my porcelain crown after the root canal was done. Easy. I have been to several offices in the area and Manhattan Village Dental by far was the best. Thank you Manhattan Village Dental. more

Outstanding Service 5/21/2012

Like the other reviewer, I was also referred there by my coworkers. I work at Mattel here in Manhattan Beach and my friends go there for their dental services. Doctor Lee is my dentist and she started by explaining my treatment in detail in a language that I could understand. No hard sell like the other offices in Manhattan Beach that I went to. The staff was also nice. No pressure sale tactics. Felt very comfortable with the whole setup. I needed to have Invisalign done and they have all the specialties there. Super convenient and the orthodontist Dr Chen is GREAT. They have all the Dental Specialists there in their offices and that also was nice. Didn't have to go to another office. I referred a lot of my friends and coworkers there. more

Great Dental Office 5/14/2012

I have been a patient of this office for 2 years now. The office is simply great. Dr Vu and Dr Lee both have taken care of me and my family. The staff also has been great. They took their time to explain to me my treatment plan and also contacted my insurance company and help me with my insurance benefits. My experience with this office has been great. more

The Best in Manhattan Beach! 7/6/2011

My whole family have been patients of this office for years. The staff and the doctors have always been most accommodating and professional. We love Dr. Lee and Cheryl! They have seen us even in afterhours in cases of emergencies. thank you to Manhattan Village Dental for years of no pain treatments. more

Overcharged! 2/2/2011

My wife went in for a root canal and was charged. When she called her ins co to verify they said it was supposed to be free. When she confroned the office with they immediately gave her a refund. If she didn't check she would have never known. And to make it worse she has been there 3 seperate times for her root canal and it still isn't finished yet!!! Worst evperience ever. We are getting a new dentist! more

PATIENT BEWARE! 9/17/2007

This is a dental office you want to avoid at all costs! Much like the previous reviewers I had the same experience. First, when you call you are required to have 2 separate appointments. One, to see the dentist and the other to do your cleaning. I too was ""required"" to have deep cleaning (something I have never had before - I have always had great ratings on the condition of my teeth). The dentist also recommended having all of my cavities replaced with fillings not covered by insurance. Imagine my surprise that when I returned for the deep cleaning and certain cavity replacements, I was met by another dentist (not Elisha - who first diagnosed me) who, I was later told, was not permitted to add his name to the dental office business card. This dentist almost filled the wrong tooth before I told him and he had to check the chart again. After paying a lot of money to get through this dental office (I have PPO insurance but none of his recommended procedures were covered by insurance) I vowed never to go again. I called later to get a copy of my x-rays for my new dentist. I was shocked to hear that in order to get my dental records, I would have to come into the office to sign a release, pay $30 for my dental records and wait 2 weeks for their arrival. To get my dental records within 1 week, the price tag was $50! I would highly recommend never seeing this dental office. If I could give this business no stars I would have. Run don't walk away! more

Something doesn't smell right 6/13/2007

Where to start, firstly I believe the staff is borderline rude. Secondly, like the other reviews, my wife and I had a similar experience. We both went in on seperate occassions and they recommended a deep cleaning which insurance doesn't cover and costs $360 each person. Secondly, they recomended that we do a porc. inlay rather than a filling, two for my wife and one for me. These cost $590 each. I am still confused why it is costing so much $$ out of pocket when, my entire life I have not spent more than $50 at the dentist. They say it is because I went to a DMO plan rather than PPO, but I only did that with the understanding that more would be covered by the DMO. The dentist office says that it would be cheaper if we had a PPO, but can't give me what the costs would be. To make a long story short, we have spent $1,500 out of pocket, with another $1000 to go with their recommendations. I really believe we have been had. I would not recommend this dentist office. BTW - I also said that I wanted a regular cleaning and they said they couldn't do it, because the dentist recommended the deep cleaning... Stay Away, you've been warned... more

Highly skeptical 11/1/2006

I've been to many dentists, some good, some not. This one scares me. He is either really good or really bad. I came in, and he looked in my mouth for only a few seconds and said I needed several cavities filled and some fillings replaced. Then he looked at my xrays and said I didn't have any cavities. I was told I need a ""deep cleaning"" which costs $200+ and isn't covered by insurance. I asked for a normal one and was told they can't do it because the dentist doesn't recommend it. He didn't do any measurements and determined I needed one by inspection (as far as I can tell).\r \r I'm much more used to a dentist who sits with you for a few minutes poking around on the tooth, using the little metal scraper to check if the tooth has a cavity (and I've had lots of cavities). So I can't tell if this dentist is so good that he doesn't need to do that, or if he is so bad he doesn't check at all. I'm very reluctant to go back. Pros: Good location Cons: Questionable expertise more

DON'T GO!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/15/2006

My husband and I just went to Manhattan Village Dental Group last week for a general maintenance appt. The appt. was for a consultation and x-rays and then to return for a cleaning. I have always been meticulous with my dental care and am in excellent health. I have dental insurance, but of course according to them, we needed this extra deep cleaning that our insurance didn't cover. When asked if we could just get the cleaning that insurance covered, we were told ""No"". They also told my husband that he needed his fillings replaced (that are only a couple years old) with a new material that also is not covered by insurance. If my husband went through with their recommendations, it would have cost almost $700!!!!!!!!! We will never go back! more
