I want to respond to some of the weird and negative reviews that you might read here about the Mandarine. Specifically, there are two so far entitled ""Reminds me of Africa"" and ""Not What I Wanted"". If you read them, they are really kinda comical and out of this world and meant to attack someone associated with the Mandarine. I think they are the product of a very unhinged mind. However, I am a Mandarine Fan, through and through. I go there regularly and enjoy the services that I get and love the staff. I feel that from the Owners to the Managing Director, to the Assistant Manager to the Front Desk people and to the Hair Stylists and the Spa personnel, each one is really out to make sure that I am treated like their best customer. I have never visited the Mandarine where I have left feeling dissatisfied. In fact, I think of it as my second home sometimes because they are all so welcoming. The staff have worked very hard to build their reputation for excellent service and quality work at the Mandarine. So I feel personally that I should say something when some unhinged creature writes these funny and nasty comments about the business. I guarantee that you will not leave unhappy when you visit the Mandarine, because my personal experience has always been outstanding. But don't take my word for it, Go check it out yourself. I switched to the Mandarine because I heard from a friend that they had recently opened a very cool and very private Man's Club. This is my third visit to my new stylist, Jessica Bradshaw. She is a craftswoman as far as cutting men's hair and making sure that I leave well groomed! I enjoy the private place they have for men. They meet you immediately and ask you to change then they wash your hair in this very comfortable and very serene shampoo area. Jessica always ends my visits with the most awesome hot stone neck massage. Oh, and I always get my complimentary beverage of choice while watching ESPN. I've sent a few of my fellow doctors at the Medical Center their way and I'm writing this review because I think it is totally deserved and hopefully will help Jess reach a broader audience. I received Excellent service at this salon from the moment I walked in the door. George provided a beverage, coat check, and walked me to the stylest i had an appointment with. I had a color consultation with 2 of the stylists and I felt that they knew exactly what I wanted as a result. I was given a complementary neck and sholder massage (with 2 other oprions of facial or hand massage) the salon was very clean, the employees were extreemly curteous, and there was a feeling of happiness. I could tell these people actually liked where they worked. The final result of my highlight-lowlight made me so happy and I have gotten so many complements in just 2 days. I will definatly return to this business!! The layout of the salon was open where the cuts and coloring are with upbeat music playing. They have a seperate room with comfy couch/chairs to recline in while getting your hair washed with a relaxing ambiance seperated from the main floor. The restrooms are clean, and the employees attentive to each small detail involved. My colorist Sarah asked me to stay long enough to have my hair dried and styled (at no cost) because she was honestly interested in how the final result looked. I recently came in after a really stressful day at work. They recommended a haircut that included a 10 minute hot stone neck massage. What a wonderful experience! My stress was totally gone and I felt great. The haircut was one of the best I have ever gotten as well. Great experience overall! Pros: Great atmosphere more

I couldn't find it at first because the mall where it is located doesn't have proper signage but I called and a really sweet guy named George stayed on the phone with me until I got there. I had their delicious chocolate hazelnut tea and Michelle the esthetician came out to greet me and take me to a very beautifully appointed room where I got a really relaxing and educational facial. I loved how my face glowed right after. Because my hair got a little messed up lying down on those heated beds, Michelle arranged for a hairstylist to fix my hair up for free and took me to Rachael who made me look completely gorgeous! I was so impressed that I came back two days later to get a real haircut and color with her and loved it. They really do a great job with their services but I think what makes them stand out is their genuine caring. I really felt welcome and at home. This is my new salon and spa now!
