We ate downstairs where it was more casual, but you have got to go. Server gave us a whole education on sustainable seafood too. It was awesome. Try the shrimp!

was well worth the money; awesome tanks and much to see; just as if you were in the wild with an aquarium tunnel over your head; great price and tours available and much variety. \r more

Not worth $18 and Ashley Lucero needs people skill 10/16/2011

Given that this aquarium is in the Mandalay Bay, I figure it should not be too bad, especially they are charging $18 for it! Oh boy, were we in for a huge disappointment. I could not believe they would charge $18 for it. It just felt like such a rip off that I contacted Ashley Lucero at the Aquarium. The experience talking to her was even worse than the aquarium experience itself! \r \r Ashley had an agenda talking to me. She was not at all there to hear my opinion. Her agenda was to tell me how wonderful the aquarium was and that I should have enjoyed it. If I did not, it was probably my fault. \r \r Ashley asked me several times how much time I spent on the tour, which to this date puzzles me. Seems to me that she is setting up a trap with this question. If I said it was too long in her opinion, that I obviously had enjoyed my tour. If I said it was very short, that she probably will tell me that I did not take the time to appreciate everything yet. \r \r She also asked me what my expectation were for the aquarium multiple times. And I kept telling her that I did not have specific animals or shows in mind, but an aquarium that charges me $18 should have at least some animals that make me feel like it was worth the $18. A few minutes later, Ashley would ask the same questions again. I told her the same thing. This went on a few times. It was a completely frustration experience. She was getting me upset on the phone. You would think someone in her position would have better PR skills?! \r \r At the end, I did not hear she even said that ""I am sorry your experience was not up to your expectation, but there is nothing I can do"" . She just kept telling me that I should have enjoyed the aquarium, that it was really my fault. Unbelievable. more

Moorea is awesome party and great dj 4/3/2011

With a name like Mandalay Bay you expect that water would be one of the key attractions. And with amenities like an aquarium and a sand-beach wave pool, the hotel lives up to its name. But almost hidden in all the excitement is Moorea Beach Club. Wouldn't eat here on a bet 9/30/2010

Wow, what a disaster of a restaurant. After making my reservation 3 weeks in advance, get a last minute phone call from the twerpy hostess telling me I had to move my time, causing me to notify a lot of my dinner guests. After being seated in the crappiest table in the restaurant and after repeatedly asking for another table, it just took $20 to have another table magically appear. \r \r If you are looking for a droll FOUR HOUR dinner, then this is the place. When presented with the several of the courses, my guest laughed out loud at the ridiculous presentation. Terribly embarrasing to say the least. How can you bring out a football sized plate with a portion that approximated a small grape. Service was slow to the point of wondering if there were still employees in the back. Food simply passable, most of which was easily surpassable be a run of the mill backyard chef.\r \r Honestly, how DOES this place stay in business - oh yea, I forgot, $200 per person should do it nicely.\r \r Thanks a lot RM for a train wreck of a business dinner. more

Top Chef Master makes good 8/13/2010

Like many restaurants at Mandalay Bay, RM Seafood is hard to find. Once you get there, though, you'll find it's worth the trek. Among the appetizers, we enjoyed the fried calamari and the raw oyster sampler. The ""moon doggies"" (Top Chef Masters challenge winner) were somewhat gamey, yet still savory and palatable. For entrees, I had the breaded swordfish, which was moist and delicate, and for sides the BBQ mac & cheese is a must. Considering the inevitable letdown that comes from visiting most celebrity chef establishments, RM Seafood stands tall above the TV Personality crowd. more

Disappointed 7/21/2010

I expected more based upon Chef Keller's reputation. We ordered the chef's tasting menu (chef makes the selections of a five course meal) and were pleased with the opening course of Ahi Tuna Tartare served over fennel slaw. Unfortunantely, the second course was a truffled onion soup, which although delicious, was far too heavy and filling for a tasting menu. The third couse was a fish dish given a fancy Japanese name, but tasting much like skate wing, now popular again at east coast restaurants. Next came Chef Keller's signature dish of braised veal and yukon gold potato ravioli. While interesting, we found it served with an overpowering sauce that masked all of the other flavors of the dish. The entre was a Lamb tederloin, slightly overcooked, but which I would order over and over again (if served medium rare instead of medium). Lastly came dessert, a chocolate souflee baked to perfection and beautifully served. For the price I would have expected white glove service and an experienced wait staff. I found neither during our evening (July 10) at the restaurant. If Chef Keller were present, and if he took on the personality of Gordon Ramsey, he would have screamed for the customers to get out, and he would have closed the doors for the night. If you need a local comparison of what was missing by way of service, a competent wait staff can be found at Carnevino at the Palazzo. Chef, I've been to Charlie Trotter's in Chicago, Daniel's in NYC...I was embarassed for you. Your food was good, it should have been spectacular.\r \r more

Moorea is NO LONGER EURO 7/6/2010

supposedly the Saturday prior to 4th of July was the last day for euro-style at moorea. heavy security that quickly informed any ladies about the new policy. Person i talked to said there has been change in management and this will be the policy from now on. Pros: Still nice pool Cons: NOT EURO more

Absolutely First Class 3/5/2009

Fleur de Lys is among my favorite French restaurants in Las Vegas. The room is attractive and quiet. Service is correct without being overbearing. The prix fixe menus offer ample variety. All dishes are exquisite. The duck breast and confit are worth a special mention. Chef Keller is a genius more

Worth the visit 1/21/2009

A must see for any marine life enthucist 10/7/2008

I had a few hours to spend so I checked out aquarium. It was time well spent and a great relaxing exprience before flight back to LA. Next time I will spend more time here than at the tables. Pros: Nice selection of marine life Cons: kinda small more

Delicious food but disappointing service 8/21/2008

The private cabana booths were not available when I requested them due to a large party going on that night. Though the restauant has a great ambiance going on inside, we were seated close to the entrance which meant that everytime that door was opened (appr. every couple minutes) we would receive a good blast of whatever music was bumping from outside, usually rock, which was a little jarring in terms of the mood and ambiance. \r \r My bofriend and I chose different prix fixe menus: I had the veal ravioli (tasty but a bit salty), braised short ribs (yum! and very tender) and the chocolated souffle with cherry ice cream for dessert (oh so good, but rich!). My boyfriend had the tuna tartare, filet mignon in a red wine reduction, with the peaches and cream for dessert. He said that all three courses were delicious. We did not take advantage of the wine list that evening though I could tell the selection was quite extensive. Though the meal was quite good, we felt that the service was a bit lacking. The hostesses were rather snooty in receiving us and throughout the night (we noticed sidelong glances and smirks at ourselves and other diners...?!) which was totally uncalled for and the server never established any connection with us beyond taking our order and handing us the check which compared with other restaurants of the same caliber was disappointing. Pros: Great modern French menu Cons: don't get seated near the door or else loud casino music! Snooty, inifferent service more

Wonderful food, wine list and service 8/5/2008

I had to book a last-minute (2 days prior) dinner for 40, and Fleur de Lys was a steller choice. The staff worked quickly to accommodate the group, and put together a fabulous meal including: an appetizer assortmant plate served with a creative flair on the plate (Seared Foie Gras Terrine, Ahi Tuna Tartare with Ginger Ponzu, Roasted Organic Beets with Goat Cheese), a main course (choice of Pan Seared Diver Scallops, Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs, or Seared Duck Breast & Duck Confit), and a dessert (chocolate ""feast"" or a fruit ""minestrone"" with basil ice cream). It was all excellently prepared and plated. I had the scallops as the main course, and they were perfectly done and served with a piece of zucchini and crab tempura). \r \r The service was outstanding - from start to finish. The wine list is extensive and the staff helpful with choices. \r \r A very romantice spot for a couple. Pros: Creative and delicious French cuisine, outstanding wine list and service - a very romantic spot Cons: A little on the high side, but you get what you pay for! more

Disappointing-would not go back 7/7/2008

My husband and I ate here on July 5. We eat late, and have found that calling 60-90 min ahead is all that is fine to get a reservation for a later hour. We called at 9:30pm to request a table at 10:15pm , and were told no problem, and gave our name. We arrived 45 minutes later, and were told by the hostess that she had no record of our reservation, but that she could seat us anyway. We were perplexed--had the man my husband had spoken to 45 minutes before not written down our reservation or they had lost record of it in 45 minutes time? Regardless, it gave a poor first impression. If the hostess had been better trained, she could have simply said ""right this way"" & we'd have been none the wiser that they had screwed up our reservation. She asked where we'd like to sit, & we said ""further back, away from the noise"" as the fight had just gotten out & there were huge crowds walking thru the hotel ,people screaming and cheering, There were over 50 set and empty tables, plenty of staff working, and diners in the area we requested, However, the hostess took us up front, just inside the ""outside"" area, and seated us there- 6 feet from the crowds yelling and screaming. My husband nicely asked again if we could sit further back-and pointed to all the empty tables, but the hostess said ""no-this is the best I can do"", and walked away. The busboy appeared and my husband asked if he could send the manager to our table. The manager, Peter, came over, my husband explained our experience, the manager spoke to the hostess, came back apologizing & moved us to a table further back. Our waiter was fine, but the heirloom tomato salad appetizer while good, was very overpriced at $21, and the spinich lasagna and Pappardelle were ok but were nothing special. Our bill was $155 before tip & we're used to paying high prices in Vegas, but expect great service and great food at that price, and we were very disappointed with the whole experience at Trat. Del Lupo-We will not return. Cons: no record of reservation, non-accommodating hostess, loud and noisy, food just average, appetizers way overpriced. more

exceeded expectations 7/2/2008

i am critical but honest on this site (you can read my other reviews if you don't believe me) and i would have to say that my experience at fleur de lys was one of the best i have had in a long time. ironically this reservation was an afterthought because i made reservations for emeril's and mesa grill the two nights before, but i will tell you that fleur de lys blew them both out of the water. the standout entrees for me included the kobe filet and the venison, and the pistachio souffle is well worth ordering in advance. to top it off, each appetizer, entree and desert had its own unique wine pairing that was spot on (i am picky about that as well). bravo! Pros: food quality, service, wine pairing...basically everything a foodie would want Cons: kinda pricey but worth it more

litlle-known gem tucked into a corner of Mandalay Bay 6/7/2008

This was my first time staying at Mandalay Bay. It is a tradition of mine to scope out all the upscale restaurants at the new place I will be staying and pick out one to try. I was certainly not disappointed with RM Seafood. Our reservations were for an early time, so we had no problems being seated right away. In fact, there was only one other couple dining in the restaurant. It made me a little hesitant, but the service and food that followed set my mind at ease. Besides, by the time we left 2 hours later, the place was packed. \r \r Anyway, I cannot say enough good things about the staff. My date was my mom, and being from a foreign country, it was difficult for her to communicate with the staff. However, everyone was very patient with her - something I truly appreciate since I have experienced countless rude waiters in the past. The appetizer, a tuna tartare, was excellent, as was the bread that came with a phenomenal spread. Our actual meals were great. My short ribs were a teany bit dry, but my mom's sea bass with lobster ravioli (one of their specials) was delicious! We ended the meal with a sorbet trio that was sufficiently light enough for us to enjoy without being overly stuffed.\r \r My only wish would be for this fabulous restaurant to be moer centrally located. It's tucked away in the corridor between Mandalay and Luxor. With its outstanding service and equally impressive food, I would think it would be displayed on their ""restaurant row"" (where Aureole and rumjungle are). more
