Major Computer Industries

First let me say that I seldom if ever take the time to write reviews because I believe in ""shopping with my feet."" Secondly, to share a little info - I was in the service business (technical service) providing service to a wide range of customers for approximately 30 years so I understand what's involved in that business. Obviously I've been a customer many times as well. I'm here today almost daring you readers to find any place of business (especially a computer store - big box or mom & pop) anywhere which will provide you with the level of service and satisfaction you will receive when doing business with Major Computer Industries. I have had both a business and personal association with this company and its management for a lot of years. Every single experience I have had with Major Computer has been a positive one. I certainly will not engage in personal attacks here but I have to wonder what was going on with the poster of the comment dated 8/24/2010 that particular day. From my experiences with Major Computer, I have to assume that ""KimberlyWat"" was having an extremely bad day and was possibly a bit delusional. I can't say what happened that day but I do know that this one person's comment does not even come close to anything I have witnessed happening in that shop over the many years I have done business there. I do know that being frustrated over a situation that might not have gone exactly as you think it should have, has the ability to make some individuals write and or say things that might not be completely true. I think that probably plays a part in the 'real truth' regarding ""KimberlyWat’s"" experience. Personally I intend on continuing to give Major Computer Industries all of my computer business. more

Great guys really know computers. I think they have been in business for some thing like 20 years. They are always busy and I think that says a lot about their business. I took my home PC and printer down on two separate occasions. Both times they found the problem and repaired it for pennies compared to buying a new PC or printer. It a few days to get the parts and have them fixed but that was because they had so much other business in there. I read previous bad review and that is why I wrote this review, it sounded like a revenge review. I know that the service is good and I would recommend them to any one. John more

All I can say is STAY AWAY. The adage that the customer is always right has never been uttered by the older man that runs this shop. He has a scary short fuse and screamed at me. They take forever to do the most simple of tasks. I mistakenly trusted these guys and prepaid for a part and installation. I was promised I would not go to the back of the line again (I had already waited 5 days the time before after being promised 2). I was assured the part (a new Dell laptop keyboard) would only take 10 minutes to install. I went to drop my laptop off and could give him 48 hours to install the keyboard he had promised could be done in 10 minutes when he was trying to get my money. He would not promise to get it done in the 48 hours. He refused to refund the cost for labor. He screamed at me to, ""GET THE HELL OUT OF MY SHOP"" when I reminded him that he promised me it would take 10 minutes when I came back. I have never received a refund for the work he DID NOT DO. I think that shows a lack of integrity. This is not what you expect from a local, small-town business. \r \r AVOID at all costs. more

These old guys know their stuff. They tracked down & eliminated all the spyware and viruses on my PC when no one else could. I had tried the Geek squad and two other repair shops and wasted a lot of money. more
