A Nightmare & Headache with Rude Service 8/13/2010

These guys are too bad for words. I gave suitacse for repair on 9th July, cleared the cost estimate on the spot. I aclled back a week later and was promisedf that my call will be returned in an hours time with status. 5 weeks and another 2 calls later, I just soke to some one called Ajith at Main Luggage. He is rude to the core. i am collecting my unrepaaired bag tomorrow. Beware of the service. Sanjay Saigal more

Quality, friendly, afordable 9/20/2009

I had the unfortunate situation of having a couple bags dissintegrate in a short period of time. The folks at Main were very helpful to guide me in the product warrenty process. Their repairs were timely and inexpensive. They are good people to work with. They know their stuff. Highly recommended. Dan Lappin Pros: Knowledgeable and skilled Cons: None that I experienced more

These guys are the worst! 6/15/2009

They have had my luggage for over 9 months and keep telling me that the manufacture is the reason for the hold on the warranty repair. Spoke to just about everyone their at the store and all of them keep giving me a different story. I am about to go and get my luggage back from them repaired or not. Very poor customer service and horrible follow up. Un returned calls every time i leave a message. Stay away from these guys if you need any warranty work done. Cons: Everything about doing business more

Surprisingly quick service 6/4/2008

Dropped my TravelPro off this past Saturday for a retractable handle replacement & expected it to take a week or more given the mountain of for-repair suitcases lined up behind the counter. Received a call on the Monday that it was ready for pickup (the very next weekday!!!) Not cheap ($55), but the charge was exactly what they told me it would be. Quality of work was fine. Guys there were pleasant to deal with and professional. I'll go back there if I need another repair someday. Pros: Friendly, professional, speedy service, only one around doing this work Cons: Not cheap, but what is? more

Great luggage repair - repeat luggage repair, not miracle workers 3/13/2008

I needed to find the location of this shop and found it using a web search. After using this place for many years, I was shocked to see the negative ratings, but after reading them, I would give them 6 stars if available. They have always performed quickly and made excellant repairs. Just as an auto warrentee does not cover dents and abuse, luggage warrentees don't either. And let's see, this is a bussiness that expects to operate at aprofit, so they should charge for their time returning manufacturers warrentee items for repair. Or you can pack it up and ship it yourself. more

great work! nice people! wonderful local treasure... 9/29/2007

first of all, i want to say how glad i am that i wasn't turned off by some of the petty reviews posted here regarding warranty work... this place is such a rare find in a day and age where small businesses are being pushed out of business and services like this can't be found any more. \r \r they repaired my favorite suitcase that is irreplaceable because it is older and they don't make 'em like this any more. when the retractable handle broke, i figured i was out of luck :( the manufacturer service center wouldn't even respond to my inquiries about getting it repaired. lucky for me i found this shop on google - the only one of it's kind in the bay area! they did a GREAT job of fixing my suitcase! and even used original parts (very important for vintage items).\r \r they were VERY friendly and helpful! and although they were very busy and did not call me with an estimate the day promised, they were not annoyed when i called them to inquire on the status - in fact, they thanked me for following up, and had my bag ready to pick up later the SAME DAY! \r \r so to all the warranty whiners on here, i just have to say you need to LEARN TO APPRECIATE A GOOD THING... most warranties require that you SHIP your luggage at your own expense (which ain't cheap! and is certainly more than twelve bucks) and wait weeks, or months, to get it back. here we have a LOCAL, convenient, affordable, shop to do this hard-to-find work for us... \r \r it saves you money, hassle, and time for warranty work (and allows you to keep old favorite luggage, purses, and the like rather than paying top dollar for new cheaply-made replacements). so stop bitching about a measly $12 warranty work fee!!! people deserve to get paid for the work they do and this kind of workmanship is worth a whole lot more than $12... \r \r this place is FANTASTIC :) Pros: quality work, convenient hours and location, friendly service :) Cons: none! more

Rip off 6/5/2007

The place is not clean.\r \r They tried to bamboozle $$$ out of me, even though my manufacturer's warranty guarantees repairs ""at NO COST"" to me. I explained that they should negotiate a better deal with the manufacturer, or drop the warranty business if is not profitable.\r \r The luggage took forever to repair, and was weeks after the promised date, and only after several UNRETURNED telephone inquiries. \r \r Highly recommended. more

Quality work from a reliable luggage repair shop. 5/19/2007

I really like this luggage repair shop. I just took a Victorinox bag in that I purchased 3 years ago. The gentleman working at Main Luggage knew immediately that it was under warranty and that the broken handle part had been replaced with one that looked slightly different in the newer models from Victorinox and asked me if that was okay. He told me there would be a $12 charge for the warranty work (which is okay, they have to get paid somehow for handling the bag, right?), and that it would take 2 weeks. I got a call 5 days later that my bag was ready to be picked up! I also used them on 4 other occasions to fix my luggage and was extremely pleased with both the timing and the quality of the repair. more

Cannot be Trusted...Bad Service 5/12/2007

I brought in a travel bag that was under warranty. Hassan told me there'd be a $12 ""handling fee."" I said that there should be no fee because the bag is under warranty. Hassan said, O.K., that he was told to state the fee, but that if the customer ""gives us trouble,"" that the fee would be waived. I said, I hope I'm not giving you trouble, I just don't think the fee makes sense for a bag that is under warranty. In any event, the fee was waived.\r \r It was ""promised"" (written right on the invoice) within 10 days. Now it is 15 days later and the bag is not ready. Not that they have bothered to inform me of the delay. I called May 9,. was told I'd get an update on May 10. Now it is May 11 and still nothing...and no response to my telephone inquiry earlier today. \r \r If this is the type of service you enjoy and expect, then by all means you should come to this place. Pros: Not doing much business Cons: They have stated: warranty customers take back seat more

Con artists 12/8/2006

This is not a reliable business. The men at the store are smooth talkers and sound very polite, but service they provide is completely unreliable. It seems they use the luggage when you take it for repair and you never get it back within a few months. They took my TravelPro bag for return and held it for 6 months before sending it to TravelPro. You are better off getting rid of your luggage than getting it repaired or replaced here. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL! Pros: cant think of any Cons: the list is too long and I dont want to spoil my mouth more

MAIN LUGGAGE Makes Wives Happy 9/19/2006

I like this place. Quiet. The two men at the front desk are pretty layed back. My wife got her purse fixed there. She's been jumping around ever since, telling me to leave a review... So here it is honey!!!!! HAPPY? Well congrats to my wife, and I recommend this place, most certainly will bring joy to many wives. I'm not sure if it's the repair they do or the young guy at the front desk sweet talking the ladies. hey I'm keeping my eyes out for you. Hey hun if youre reading this don't forget the budlight you owe me. more

I didn't like waiting a couples day more then my due date for my luggage to be complete, but I tell you, it sure is worth it. more

Their Great! 8/25/2006

I got my VictorionOx, also known as my baby, fixed there. They did such a wonderful job on it. Fixed my handle and slipped in free pulls on my empty sliders. The two men are really polite and want best for their customers. I would definitley recommend Main Luggage, as the best in the Bay. more

Horrible Service - Stay Away 6/26/2006

I brought in my luggage for repair on 31 March 2006. After about two months has passed I called to follow-up. Promise to call back and never did. A few weeks and I called again. Promise to call back and never did. By this time I've had it. Called and spoked sternly to motivate the shop to follow-up. Took one day to call back and said the luggage has been repaired and will be ship to my home. Three days passed. Called again and demanded the Repair Order number and I called TravelPro myself. Found out that TravelPro received the luggage on 2 June 2006 and repair/shipped the luggage to me on 23 June. Why did it take Main Luggage from 31 March 2006 to June 2006 to send my luggage to TravelPro? I'm so ticked-off at Main Luggage that I'm about to demand my $25 fee be refunded for ""HORRIBLE SERVICE"". more

Terrible Service 1/10/2006

Brought a piece of luggage to get a zipper repaired. The day after I got it back, the same zipper broke in the same place as before. No refund was offered or given. Terrible customer service. My advice - find another place. more

Cannot be trusted to do the job. 10/31/2005

These guys have been supposedly trying to repair and replace our two damaged suitcases for the last two months, and gotten nothing done. Every time I call, he tells me a new story. After much frustration I am taking my business elsewhere. Cons: Unreliable, Untrustworth, Incompetent more

Agree with prior reviews, don't depend on Main 10/19/2005

I agree with the prior review: unreliable. Although the man in the shop seems friendly, he said he would have my bag ready in 10 days and he did not deliver. Not even close. A full month later, he hadn't even started. After three weeks, he assured me ""it will be ready tomorrow"". When I called him today, he said he could have it ready in ""30 minutes"" using non-manufacturer's parts. I'm taking my bag elsewhere, because Main Luggage was politely wasting my time. more

Unreliable service 3/17/2005

I gave them a suitcase to repair in Dec. 2004, still hadn't heard from them by late January. Called every two weeks to check, and was finally told in early March it was ready; when I went in to pick it up, they hadn't even started on it! Another customer next to me also grumbled that they'd had his suitcase since November 2004. Avoid this store if you want to use your bag anytime soon! more
