Editorial review from Citysearch 7/29/2013

Dr. Nathan Bloch has been treating my husband for many years now, and we are more than pleased with the care he has received. His knowledge and expertise have meant everything as my husband faced a recent health scare related to diabetes. No other doctor would have given him the high level of care, concern, and compassion that he experienced under Dr. Bloch's watchful eye. We highly recommend Main Center Family Medicine to anyone searching for quality healthcare. more

The reception at this clinic is completely AWFUL. The day that I called to make my appointment, all I wanted was a simple TB test. The receptionist on the other end who was angry and short with me over the phone informed me that I would need too see the doctor in order to get the test. I knew this was unnecessary because my test was a simple yes/no that was required for school, and the previous year I had gotten a TB test administered me to by a nurse, and was literally a walk-in walk-out appointment, less than 3 minutes total. \r \r When I walked in for my appointment at Main Center Family Medicine I was not acknowledged by either of the two receptionists working. I proceeded to sign in and take a seat in the waiting room, not even knowing if they had seen I was there. After about 5-10 minutes waiting, I walked up to the desk to check if they had even seen that I had arrived. The receptionist I spoke with acted as though speaking to me was a chore, and seemed like she was in somewhat of a daze. I then waited for an hour and fifteen minutes in the waiting room to be called, watching several patients that arrived long after me get called to their appointments before I was. I assumed that this was because they did not need to see the doctor, and the rude receptionist had misinformed me that I NEED to see the doctor, not a nurse, get the TB test. \r \r On the contrary, Dr. Billies is an excellent doctor. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, pleasant, and easy to talk to, and also takes into account a holistic approach which I really like. She is kind, and I felt as though she really cared about me as a patient. The nurse, I wish I knew her name, is also very sweet. \r \r But overall, i will not be returning to this clinic. I will take my business elsewhere, though I'm sure this office doesn't even need new patients if they are so packed that patients like myself have a 1 hour and 15 minute wait, even for a 30 second TB test. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/23/2013

After reading 1concernedcitizen1's comment, I wanted to add my experience about ""unauthorized tests"". The Northville office had sent out lab work that I wasn't aware about until I got a bill from the lab. I called the office and told them that they knew I receive free lab work elsewhere, so I shouldn't be responsible for this bill. Mike and the Office Manager, Audrey, worked with the lab to make sure I didn't have to pay the bill. The customer service and doctors at this location are top notch! more

I was recently at Main Center Family Medicine. They should be embarassed of their reception. As I checked out and tried to schedule an appointment she spoke down to me. She made an insulting comment, and acted like scheduling an appointment was the biggest problem in the world. She explained to me it would take me extra long to make an appointment because it takes 5 minutes to change days and check avaliability. The last thing I need when I am sick is to be insulted and have to deal with a nasty attitude from a receptionist. I will not be returning to Main Center Family Medicine. HORRIBLE!!! \r FYI receptionist you have no right to insult anyone. You are nothing special just a secretary growing into your scrubs. more

Explanation of Poor Review 3/9/2012

Sometimes these websites can be very unfair. In Nov 2008 our office responded to poor ratings and comments from a past disgruntled employee. After review of our ratings we noticed on Mar 21,2010 1concerncedcitizen there was another poor review and we wish to comment: This patient had symptoms that the doctor felt were a result of a large mass in the patient's neck. The patient did not have insurance but was advised that bloodwork could help in the diagnosis of the patient's problem. The patient hesitant to have any treatment because the patient only believed in alternative medicine did finally agree to and signed for lab work. After the patient's blood was drawn and sent to the lab the patient called the office and said ""I will go to a doctor that can diagnose by all 12 pulses"" and that ""traditional medical doctors do not understand my condition"". The patient requested that we not charge for lab work that was already completed and refused to pay for the visit because the patient didn't agree with the physician. Our office acted in good faith and never diagnosed this patient since no opportunity was given to do so. We wish this patient well and hope the patient finds the medical care they need. Please consider looking at other websites for patient comments that may be more useful. Manager --Main Center Family Medicine more

Great care at Main Family Medicine 2/26/2012

Wow, I was shocked to read a couple unflattering reviews about this practice. Not my experience at all! \r \r I've been a patient since 2005, and my husband has been going since 2000. Dr. Bloch is our primary care doc and he is awesome. Very genuine, doesn't talk down to you, but thoroughly explains everything. I've also seen Dr. Billes and Dr. Postula-Stein (not sure if he's there anymore) - they are great too. I like that they mention things like supplements, stretching exercises, physical therapy - it's not all about prescription meds and surgery. \r \r If it's something simple though, I usually see PA Chris because he often has same-day openings when the docs are booked. \r \r If you are considering this practice, I would ignore the gossip below and give these folks a try. \r more

Great family practice 10/29/2010

I have been treated by Doctor Jason Postla Stein for many many years. From when he was in practice in Ann arbor. He has treated and diagnosed me for everything that experts couldnt. He is in my opinion the top Doctor in his field. He and all his staff treat me like family. They understand when you aren't feeling well and treat you with the care they would their own family. If you need a doctors office with that family atmosphere and the careing service from doctor and staff. contact Main street family...Doctor jason Postula stein..... more

Beware 3/21/2010

Placed signature on document that wasn't actually signed in person. Which authorized tests that were specifically asked not to run. Then had the chutzpah to charge for them. Saying the document had been signed.\r Misdiagnosed the issue, they can only treat symptoms, not the source of issue.\r Beware!!!! Cons: see below more

Improper Use of this Website 11/29/2008

This practice has had two unfair reviews! City search was notified but refuses to correct the problem.\r Both reviewers were not patients. They were past employees unhappy because they did not meet up to the high standards set forth by our physicians. \r \r At Main Center Family Medicine (previously Main Street Family Medicine) we intend to provide you with the best possible medical care! \r \r If you have any questions please call 248-348-1131 or just stop by our office now located at 422 North Center Street and we will be glad to help you :)\r \r Management at Main Center Family Medicine Pros: Great Parking, Very Friendly Staff, High Level of Medical Care Cons: Wait times can be 30-45 minutes (but if you let staff know your in a hurry when they schedule you they can expedite your care) more

Main Street Family Medicine is on Center street 9/10/2008

I recently had the opportunity to be treated by Dr. Bloch for the second time. I was originally refered by my lawyer who was also very pleased with the service he received. The first time I visited Dr. Bloch the office made time just 30 minutes before closing to schedule my appointment for that same day and the Doctor ended up spending over 30 minutes treating me after closing time.\r On my second visit, I was treated at the NEW LOCATION on Center street in Northville. I think the address is 322 N. Center street. Once again , the service was courteous, the Doctor was superb and even found a problem I didn't know I had. I give this Doctor my highest recommendation. Pros: fast, same day appointment more

Main Street Family Medicine 9/5/2008

While I think the doctors at this office are top notch, some of the staff are very arrogant. I do not know who the last review was writing about as I have only met an Audrey as the manager. This Audrey is in one word a *b****"". I have heard her personally talk down to the girl working the desk, berate another staff member and then talk about other staff in front of patients. Someone like that is a disgrace to the office, which is very sad as I think Drs. Bloch, PosulaStine and Billis are great. My kids love Chris too and the nurses are polite and helpful. I only go back there if I truly need to and pray the manager isn't around. The other staff is okay but some front people seem not to care about the patients or you are bothering them. Don is polite but condesending, AnneMaria is very flighty and talks to patients about their personal issues where everyone hears, the other guy doesn't do anything but sit there, the other girl(name?dark hair) is always busy and sometimes gets overwelmed. To finish, Drs, clean house with the desk staff and their manager and I will gladly refer friends and relatives. Could be a great office with some major adjustments!! Pros: doctors and nurses are great Cons: desk staff and manager are awful more

DISASTEROUS 12/8/2007

I am writing this in hopes that someone out there will read this and ultimately avoid this family practice. This office oozes with unprofessional, un-educated, and unpleasant individuals. The office manager, Kelly is extremely unkind. She is, without hesitation, overtly rude to patients. The office staff is without common sense- including the office manager's daughter- whom struts with such undoubtable advantage that she is not required to lift a finger. The doctors are dismissive and distracted. Please consider this to be truthful; because you will not regret it. Good luck.\r \r -Anonymous. more

best doctors!! 6/7/2007

We started seeing Dr. Bloch and his team when we moved to the area. They are wonderful. My kids absolutely love them. Dr. Bloch even stayed past closing to see my son on a possible ear infection. (I had called just as they were closing). We moved out of state, and miss Dr. Bloch a lot. Keep up the good work. \r -The O'Brian's more
