Just a quick note to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy service you should use Maid For You New York. Me and my wife have used many services and private people over the years and have always resulted in some problem. We either would come home and find the cleaner never came or they came and something was broking or even our worst case was to find things were missing. We have been using Maid For You New York for the last 3 years and have always had great service. The cleaners go above and beyond to make your home not only look clean but always use this great fragrance to let you know they were there the minute you walk inside. My apartment was a mess and because of my work schedule I would not have the time to clean it before my mom came to visit. I was a little worried about using a cleaning service especially because I would not be able to be there for the appointment. I would have to leave the key with the doorman. I had no choice my mom was coming in 2 days. I called several companies before scheduling my appointment with Maid For You I called several other companies most of the time just getting an answering machine. I spoke with the rep from Maid For You who described in detail the service that sounded perfect for my apartment. She gave me a price and took my credit card information so I didn't have to worry about leaving cash for when the maid arrived. Later that night i arrived home and I couldn't believe I was walking into my apartment. It was spotless. The pillows neatly on the couch, all the magazines stacked perfectly on the table, the kitchen floor looked clean enough to eat off of, the bathroom has never been so white. I have 2 cats so they tend to leave hair all over the apartment especially under the sofas & under the bed but there was no hair anywhere. I was so pleased with the service I have been using the company every other week to keep up my apartment and I've never been disappointed with the quality of the service or the staff. They've shown up twice and done a decent job, but they have failed to show up twice. You may consider 50:50 odds to be fairly decent, but both times when they've failed to show up, no one has bothered to call to let me know why someone isn't coming. When I call back during M-F (b/c no one ever picks up the phone on a weekend), they're extremely apologetic and they offer to send someone the next day, but that's never to my convenience but to theirs. Also, when I called them the first time to get a quote, I was told very clearly that if you're put on a schedule there's a discount. When I got on the schedule, they didn't give me a discount but claimed that the original price quoted was the discounted rate - that doesn't make any sense b/c I wasn't on a schedule the first time I had called and hadn't said at that time I would get onto a schedule, so why would they givef a discounted rate at the beginning? In short, try someone else, and don't waste your time on these guys. more

I found Maid For You NY on Citysearch about 6 months ago and have been using them regularly since. I initially hired their service for a post renovation cleaning of my apartment which was extremely dirty. I described the condition and size to the girl over the phone and was given a price which was never changed. The cleaners were very professional and detail oriented. They brought all the necessary cleaning equipment and left my new aptartment looking spotless. As a matter of fact the cleaners were reluctant to take a tip(but I insisted). I continue to use Maid For You NY for my weekly cleaning service and highly recommend them to anyone in need of getting the job done right! I've used this service 3 times. 1st time was more than a year ago, & the lady did a good job, though I found the service to be pricier compared to others out there. About 2 mos. ago, I set up another appt. I specified that I would provide supplies (to avoid the extra fee for theirs). I wasn't home during the svc. (my husband was), & came home to a pleasantly clean & fresh smelling apt., though she had not touched my supplies. My husband said she was friendly and polite. I scheduled another appt. 2 weeks later, and again said that I would provide products. They had sent a different person this time. I got home from work as she was finishing up. She was curt & abrupt, & changed out of her uniform in my bathroom before she left (unprofessional). They call the office to have you speak to management before they leave, but it's not possible for me to say I don't like someone or their work with them standing right in front of me (on their phone, no less!). Again, she used her own supplies, and her mop smelled so bad that I felt like mopping my floors again to get rid of the smell. I had to light a candle and open up the windows. She did a mediocre job with the cleaning, and left streaks on my mirrors. But here's the icing on the cake: I was quoted $155 on the phone for 3 hours. My credit card was charged $190.00! My apartment is less than 700 sq. ft. She arrived at 3:00 & left at 5:30. You do the math. Needless to say, I will be using a different cleaning service next week & from here on out. I called Maid for you in order to get my mother's house ready for her return from the hospital, I found the service to be exceptional. My mother was delighted to come home to such a clean and fresh smelling house after being away. She was happy to see her laundry had been done, her bed linens had been changed and everything was dust free. more

I recently moved to New York and was staying with family until I found an apartment for myself. I was ecstatic when I was able to find a nice place pretty quickly. I made the move fairly easily into my gorgeous converted alcove studio in the city which, at first glance, seemed immaculate. I guess it was the excitement in my eyes that first day because, upon closer examination, my vents were all very dusty and none of the windows looked as though they had been wiped in months. There was dust EVERYWHERE in fact. I tried to do some light cleaning while I unpacked and completed the move but within a week I was coughing, wheezing and sneezing. Their in-office staff was very efficient in contacting me after I filled out an online form for an estimate and arranged to send someone the very next day! The person that they sent was very punctual. You will get good service from this company if you are VERY specific and honest with your cleaning needs. I used this service in the past. The worker they had was magnificant. She happened to be an articulate and well educated individual. She was prompt, efficient and friendly. She not only made me feel comfortable with her in my home, but enjoyed speaking with her. She was an African American girl, who was also a teacher. This was her side job. I called and recommended her to several of my friends. I told her I would pay her on the side and she told me, no that would be dishonest, the company is just starting and they are good guys. I called to get her again and found out she was gone. I saw her in the department store one time and found out she was not happy with one of the employers, she did not go into any details. Do you know she still chose not to clean on the side? Everyone should be as nice and honest as her. Denise, where ever you are all the best. She was an excellent cleaner . I called this company for cleaning service the next day. The girl on the phone was very nice, informative and went out of her way to accommodate me. I was moving into a new apartment and needed both my old apartment and my new one cleaned. They have a carpet cleaning service that removed old stains in my rug and they removed the grease on the wall by my stove. I got my security deposit back and moved into a spotless apartment.
