I normally would not write a review for a website, but in the past few months several friends have asked me to recommend a doctor. Dr. Mahon has been my primary care physician for over ten years and I highly recommend her. After giving Dr. Mahon's name to my friends, I decided to see what was posted on the internet. That's how I found this website. I have just read several negative comments, and that inspired me to write a positive review! Dr. Mahon has always taken the time to ask not only about my medical condition, but to also check on how I was coping with things that were going on in my life. Any tests that she has ordered have been appropriate and the results have always been promptly reported to me. I spend a lot of time on the internet, and know that Dr. Mahon always makes recommendations that follow best practices. When appropriate she will give me alternatives and allow me to make a fully informed decision about which route to take. For example, when I was going through menopause she explained the pros and cons of hormone replacement therapy, and I made the decision about what to do. In the very late 90s, my previous (and wonderful) primary care physician passed away from cancer. I tried several other doctors in his practice, but I did not feel comfortable with them, primarily because they had very sexist attitudes, especially with regard to women's health issues. I say this to let you know that I am fussy about my medical care providers! I require that my doctors be professionally competent AND that they have a good bedside manner! I decided to seek out a female doctor and and decided to ""try out"" Dr. Mahon. She made an excellent first impression on me and has been my doctor every since! more

The office staff at this practice is amazing and helpful and the location is great so it is with a certain amount of regret that Dr. Mahon has not panned out to be the doctor to suit my family's needs. From the get go, I felt her condescending nature but let it go because my feathers are not easily ruffled. Like others, I felt as though my office visits were always rushed and that there was never enough time to fully explain what was happening with my health or the health of my children. At one point, Dr. Mahon detected a minor growth that she felt needed a closer look in order to rule out a cancer. She sent me to an emergency room and requested a test that I ended up not needing and never, ever followed up with me about my health. She never even asked me about the test results or so much as inquired about where I was in my diagnosis. I have since moved practices and after just 1 visit, my new doctor followed up with me via phone, letter and e-mail. Additionally, I have NEVER had a doctor request a follow-up with me and then charge me for an office visit. But this is the policy at Dr. Mahon's practice. She requested a follow-up and then charged me for it! What a scam. I never would have ""followed up"" if I thought it was a money-making ploy. When I questioned her about this charge, she cut me off and became authoratative and hostile, as if I had a lot of nerve to question the doctor. Consequently, we will not return to this practice. I, too, am a professional...my time is just as valuable as hers and my intellect just as great. more

Dr. Mahon has always treated me well, given attention that has been needed. My wife, on the other hand, she doesn't like. The ""I am the doctor"" comment that another person mentioned sums it up when Dr. Mahon has dealt with my wife. She downplays her concerns and seems rushed. She has no patience for kids. more

I have been a patient with Dr. Mahon for the past three years. As someone with a chronic condition I appreciate the fact that she spends time with me at each visit, and listens to what I am saying. I also find it important that her staff does not change from visit to visit. This speaks volumes about how the office is run and the personnel are treated. Dr. Mahon is very direct when dealing with my health issues which is something I appreciate. She answers my questions in a way that I can comprehend and she makes sure that I can understand what is going on. Her practice is busy but I find the wait times are better than other managed care offices I have visited. I would recommend Dr. Mahon without hesitation. more

While the nursing staff was wonderful, Dr. Mahon is only pleasant so long as you don't question her methods. According to her, preventative medicine is only valid if you pay a licensed professional (IE HER) to care for you, so don't bother with those monthly breast exams ladies! You'll need Dr. Mahon to do an annual exam because ""YOU'RE NOT A DOCTOR"" Nevermind ""recommendations"" regarding your health. All recommendations equal ""requirements"" in the eyes of Dr. Mahon. more

Came to Dr. Mahon as a referral from Aetna looking for a second opinion and a doctor closer to my home. The office was over booked. They did take me back in a timely manner but the doctor spent less than five minutes with me and was very sarcastic, rude and insulting. She did not take the time to evaluate my situation. I felt as if she was rushing through my visit, first impressions are everything! Well I was NOT impressed at all with her bedside manner. I felt like a number not a new patient. Worst experience at a doctors office that I have had in 40 years! Pros: Staff was nice and location was good (Tori was great) Cons: Where do I begin? more

My two daughter have been going to Dr.Mahon for several years now. She is a very caring doctor who takes her time with each patient. I love this doctor very knowledgeable ....office get very busy so arrived early for your appointments Pros: excellent doctor Cons: office is very busy...but worth seeing Dr. Mahon more

Staff is friendly and efficient throughout encounter. Provider is professional,while pleasant and addresses concerns concisely and with thoroughness. She really gets to know her patient well for best overall patient care as a primary care provider.Facility is easily accessible, well maintained and clean with minimal wait time for most appointments. Pros: Quality care from professional, courteous staff and doctor who will really know you personally for best primary care relationship.. Cons: Not open on weekends more
