I normally would not write a review for a website, but in the past few months several friends have asked me to recommend a doctor. Dr. Mahon has been my primary care physician for over ten years and I highly recommend her.
After giving Dr. Mahon's name to my friends, I decided to see what was posted on the internet. That's how I found this website. I have just read several negative comments, and that inspired me to write a positive review!
Dr. Mahon has always taken the time to ask not only about my medical condition, but to also check on how I was coping with things that were going on in my life. Any tests that she has ordered have been appropriate and the results have always been promptly reported to me.
I spend a lot of time on the internet, and know that Dr. Mahon always makes recommendations that follow best practices. When appropriate she will give me alternatives and allow me to make a fully informed decision about which route to take. For example, when I was going through menopause she explained the pros and cons of hormone replacement therapy, and I made the decision about what to do.
In the very late 90s, my previous (and wonderful) primary care physician passed away from cancer. I tried several other doctors in his practice, but I did not feel comfortable with them, primarily because they had very sexist attitudes, especially with regard to women's health issues. I say this to let you know that I am fussy about my medical care providers! I require that my doctors be professionally competent AND that they have a good bedside manner!
I decided to seek out a female doctor and and decided to ""try out"" Dr. Mahon. She made an excellent first impression on me and has been my doctor every since!
