I couldn't wait to stay in the Magnolia. We got a great rate, and from the looks of the lobby and spa, I was ready for a great hotel experience. The rooms are spacious, but the ...

We have stayed at the Magnolia a few times. It has been very consistent with great customer service. The rooms are clean and priced right. They even have a van that will take you to around town if needed. I would recommend the Magnolia to anyone who wants to have a nice time in Denver. more

Dated and worn. Seems as though they are having an identity crisis, is this a boutique hotel or a former Holiday Inn. Lack of staff is apparent in wait times, slow service and unanswered phones. more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE TOP DOWN 9/3/2008

My husband and I stayed here twice this year, and each visit was extremely disappointing. First, I'm not one to nit pick, but I do expect quality customer service. Each time this establishment was under par. The General Manager is clueless. On our first visit, I filled out the guest survey, and she sent us a letter for an upgrade to a suite if we gave them another chance. \r \r You would have thought they would have made some kind of note on our account to make sure that our every need was taken care of for our visit. Not the case. Called room service and asked for a bottle of champagne. The rep said that she didn't have the liquor cabinet key, and she wasn't going to be able to do that for us. Not one attempt to resolve the situation, or just say of course, and figure it out on her own. \r \r Our room was not properly cleaned. Empty Champagne bottle left in room, chairs askew from the table. Countless of things. But what made me more upset than anything was how the General Manager handled the complaint. Not only that but the President of the company wasn't much better, and gave her employee the way out, instead of apologizing for her General Manager behavior.\r \r If you want decent hotel service, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Pros: Rooms Cons: Customer Service, and Management more

Classy and relaxing 4/1/2007

We enjoyed a lovely happy hour at Harry's last night after hitting an afternoon matinee. We had shrimp cocktail and a few speciality drinks. The shrimp were large and of good quality and came with a tasty cocktail sauce (as opposed to the kind that tastes like ketchup). Between the three of us we had a lemon drop, a sidecar, an (intercourse-silly Citysearch editing) in the city, an orange crush (I think), and a Colorado bulldog. All were sophisticated and elegant, served up martini style. We did not care for the (bleep! naughty word!) in the city which was so sweet that it crossed the line into cloying but if you like a very sweet drink then that is the one for you. True, the drinks are not cheap. But they are quite strong so not to worry, you get plenty of booze for your buck. At any rate, it isn't the sort of place you go to down a ton of drinks and get very drunk and loud. It's more of a place to enjoy a civilized cocktail with a few good friends and still be able to walk in a staight line when you leave. The decor was the most fun. I agree with the 1950's Vegas lounge characterization. Lots of mod geometric shapes and reds/oranges. Very clean-looking and very chill. The only thing that annoyed me was the huge flatscreen TV which I thought detracted from the look and feel of this smart little place. It isn't meant to be a sports bar. But overall, loved it. Will definitely be back. Pros: Perfect atmosphere for conversation, sophisticated drinks, fantastic decor Cons: Downtown paid parking, please ditch the flatscreen TV more

enjoyed overall 11/20/2006

I wa able to shop the rates (by date) and was able to get a room for a very reasonable price. The room itself was quite small but the decore in the room was nice. The bathroom has a nice tub but the rest of the tile, countertops etc all felt cheap. The location was perfect for a weekend downtown. Walking distance to everything. The valets were very friendly and the front desk helpful. The bar however was boring but they are building a new one. Overall I would reccomend. Pros: good proce, nice bed, nice sized tub Cons: cheap bathroom, small room more

Overpriced for room quality 8/26/2006

We stayed in a suite room, so perhaps that had something to do with the qualityh of the room. However, it was not all that great for the price. The bed was only a double bed, the bathroom was very average, tv's were tiny, couches itchy. Have stayed at other Magnolia hotels that were very luxuriousm this was more comfort inn feeling. The hotel itself is very nice and the service WAS excellent. The valets were very helpful and the free shuttle was great for soming/going to dinner. Can't beat free fresh baked cookies and milk from 8-10 pm either. Free Breakfast was pretty good for a continetial breakfast. Pros: location, extras, service Cons: price, bed size more

too loud!! 3/27/2004

We tried to stay here on Valentines day and we were greeted by a broken elevator. This would not have been bad if there were any stairs to walk up. Instead we had to wait 40 minutes up and 25 minutes to get back down to go out. Then it was so loud both in the hotel and outside. The walls are paper thin and you can here everything!! I don't recomend staying here if you actually want sleep. more

Great Stay and Experience 5/29/2003

My girlfriend suprised me with a nights stay at The Magnolia and it was great. The rooms were terrific with only needing larger TV's and a little bit better interior decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the closet space was great, the bathroom and oversized shower were wonderful and the kitchen was very convenient. I have recommended this hotel to many friends and they have enjoyed it as much as I have. more

FINALLY! 3/3/2003

Finally, a classy small bar in a hotel that is also a good afterwork, good singles, and good live music place!! Best thing yet - NO SMOKING! (My lungs and eyes thank you!!!) Drink prices are average but drinks are good. The place is small and decorated in a 50's style that is VERY vintage! Great bartendars (well, except for the one that didn't know what ""over"" meant...OK, he's young...) and waitresses. Great live Jazz music. GREAT crowd of upscale, younger professionals mixed in with a few older Jazz appreciators and tourists. I will be here every time I'm in Denver!!! Pros: No Smoking!, Decor, friendly staff, Good crowd! Music! Cons: Educate the bartender, wish it were bigger more

Excellent Stay 12/16/2002

The downtown location is very convenient. It's proximity to the 16th street Mall was ideal for a local visitor without a car. The staff was professional and the hotel amenities were excellent. Pros: Excellent Staff, Great Location more
