After several days of disappointing food choices in Denver, we went here. first, the bldg is GORGEOUS! then top-notch service, friendly staff < they even were singing Carols as they worked!> all paled to the amazing food. From the bread, the wine (Michelle Moscato Di Asti was my choice: UBER sweet!) I had the Shrimp scampi and the hubby had the 4 cheese pesto alfredo ravioli. we both got a dessert, which was the best creme brulee we've ever had. Total tab was under 60$ for the both of us!! For the amount of food, the service and all of it, we think it's BRILLIANT, and I will go back every time I'm in Denver! more

In my experience placing myself on the wait list in a restaurant is to be expected. With that understood, I am astonished at how this chain handles the reservations vs. walk in customers. My family of 3 put our names on the list at 6:30. The hostess advised it would be 30-40 mins which was fine. After an hour, I approached the hostess and asked her what was taking so long. She stated there were several 7 o'clock reservations they were waiting for. I quickly reminded her it was 7:30 and those reservations would have to be cancelled. Her reply to me was that we were the next ones on the list. So I promptly asked her what a realistic time would be if we were next and she said she couldn't say. After waiting for over an hour and watching reservations and other parties be sat before us we left. I am in the restaurant biz and the manner in which the restaurant and its host handles the wait list is astonishing. I won't even mention the manager because she ignored me and my complaints. I unfortunately have gift cards and will use those at other establishments unless I can redeem the cash. For the oversized portions and mediocre food this place is not worth the wait. more

No wait, we were seated immediately. The atmosphere was lively with decor that has a Chicago/Boston Restaurant feel (like you're walking into a Cheers). Our waiter, Louis, made some great recommendations for appetizers, salads and wine to pair with our main dishes. Being our first visit, the sous chef made a special appearance to our table for an introduction and appetizer - compliments of the house! Highly recommended. Fair prices (considering you get such large portions - get the full serving rather than the half portion, it's only a few dollars more and you'll have leftovers to last the next two days). If you're looking for huge portions of reasonably priced, delicious Italian food this is the place to go. We've been to Maggianos many times and have always had great food and service. Sure, the hostesses at the reception area could be more cordial, just remember that two high school girls being bombarded by pompous south siders may have a hard time keeping their composure. Make your reservation more than a week in advance unless you like eating at midnight, and you'll experience a great meal! Pros: Food, Service, Value more

I went on New Years Eve 2006 with my husband and I thought the restaurant was amazing. It was decked out with black and silver balloons and thought everything was festive. We were seated on the dot of our reservation time and our waiter was awesome. He was very fimilar with the menu and very promt service. Yes its a bit pricy but I absolutely didn't feel cheated out of my money. The crowd was a bit roudy but it was new years and alcoholic drinks were plentiful!!! Overall it was an A+ restaurant. Extremely rude service at the host stand, and no communication with the valet or managers on how long the wait list was. I'm not sure why they list this as a kid-friendly restaurant--the hostess said we could eat in the bar, the only problem was that we had an infant, and not one table would accomadate a high chair! It did not seem at all like this restaurant was run very well. We don't plan on going back to give the food a try...after reading the other reviews, it doesn't seem like we are missing out on anything anyways. This is a great place to get a nice Italian meal. But if you're looking to be taken to Italy, book a flight, not a table. Don't get me wrong, this is some of the best Italian food in town. But it gets more rave than it deserves. Worth going to, but I wouldn't add it to my list of favorites. I really like Maggiano's and was thrilled when they built the one here down south. The food is consistently good, portions huge, the service is always topnotch. I usually make reservations and am taken to my table very close to the reservation time. The Frank Sinatra music adds the perfect touch. Pros: great food, great service, ambience more
