Lots of fun 8/12/2005

My niece and I went to this museum and had a blast. She is very much into knowing how things work and why. They had many different exhibits for her to explore. They also have an IMAX movie theater which show some great movies. Would recommend. One of the coolest exhibits is the hurricane room. You can sit in a room that blows air at hurricane force speed. Very cool more

Very fun place to take the kids! 7/28/2005

This place is not only fun, but it is educational too!! :-) My kids loved it! They beg to go back all the time! They have this awesome Hurricane display thing.. where you go inside and sit down and the wind blows as hard as a hurricane! LOL It was fun and your hair goes nuts!! LOL So much stuff to do and you learn so much at the same time!! more

A great day of learning and the kids will LOVE it 7/26/2005

This is a great place to take the kids on a rainy day or any day for that matter! It is interactive and hold their attention. The IMAX theater is something else...amazing! This was fun for my 6 yo and my 10 yo can't beat that! I didn't find it pricey either! They have free days too once or twice a year...check them out! your kids will love it! PROS: interactive exhibits, IMAX CONS: construction was going on and parking limited more

Mosi has an All Star After School Program 7/25/2005

For roughly $65.00 per week, your 2nd -5th grader can enjoy wonderful afterschool programs with the Museum of Science and Industry. They provide snacks, homework assistance and more. The children will even get guided tours through the museum as part of the after school program. This is an excellent way to keep children busy and intellectually stimulated after school. more

IMAX, science exhibits 7/19/2005

Have you seen an IMAX film yet? Wow, is all I can say, you can feel it all around you, and if you are not careful, it will make you dizzy because it is all around you. They have lots of different things to see here, moving dinosaur skeletons was my youngest favorite. Mosi has many different hands on science exhibits, right now they are featuring a really cool space exhibit. The gift shop is a must see as well, they offer many different sciency things to buy for the kiddos. The food court is of course overpriced but their food is good. PROS: great educational fun CONS: pricey more

Have fun and learn while you are at it. 7/14/2005

They have several things to offer here. Find out information on thunderstorms to playing in the kids area. They have a hurricane room that you can experiance what it feels like to be in 74 mile per hour winds. This place is also great for birthday parties. You can pick from an assortment of themes they have and based on that theme, you make something. We had one based on dinasours and mad a tooth. They also have the IMAX theater that is not included in the regular admission. But it is something you should check out. more

Don't forget to check out the IMAX theater, where you can see some amazing movies, larger than life! Let your inner explorer out, and visit MOSI today! more

A great hands on experience 6/1/2005

Stroll through butterfly gardens, experience the strength of a hurricane, wander through space, ride a bike in mid-air and so much more. Tampas Museum of Science and Industry is a great way to spend an afternoon of learning and fun. You can pay for individual activities or package deals. The activities include a tour of the basic museum which has plenty of hands on activities to keep even the most active hands busy. A planetarium, an IMAX movie theater that shows several times a day and visiting displays that are always well worth the money. The displays make you feel like you are right therewherever there is that month. For a first time visitor the full package is the best but be prepared to spend a full day there. more

MOSI 8/11/2002

I used to enjoy MOSI every once ina while. Then managament made moves that disappointed me greatly. The first was the cancelation of the laser light shows. The shows were ALWAYS packed when I attended, so I doubt they were not money makers. I have been unimpressed with the old wing of MOSI for years now. Most of the exhibits are obsolete, and half of them were broken during my past few visits. After visits to other museums, the lack of relevance of MOSI to Florida's science and industry fields is apparent. No attention is paid to the mining or agriculture industries. more
