It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!

I've stayed at Luxor four times but will not be returning. The hotel is being repositioned for a younger audience and much of the campy Egyptian theme has been removed. They also cl...

Comfortable and Fun Experience!!! 5/30/2007

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Luxor on our very first trip to Vegas together in 2006. I had heard mixed experiences about the hotel/casino so I decided to try it out for myself. The hotel/casino is amazing! We didn't have to wait long to check in and we were early!!! We were offered to be upgraded to a tower room which showed great customer service. We spent a total of three nights here and WE LOVED IT!!! The food was great, the pool was awesome. We were not too thrilled about Club RA, but we did get in for free. Other than that everything else was more than great! I would definitely return back here the next time we are in Vegas and I have recommended to all my friends and family! Staying at the Luxor was a great experience!!!!! Pros: casino/pool/service/location Cons: none that really stood out to me. more

My favorite hotel in Vegas 5/20/2007

I've stayed many hotels in Vegas, places like Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Orleans, Hard Rock, MGM and Rio, but the Luxor is by far my favorite. I really don't why, I guess many would think its kind of corny decor and over done, but I like the feel of it. Love the casino and they way it's set up and this place has some great places to eat. Luxor steak house was incredible, They have a deli, a pizza place, Fusia (asian) and in between Mandalay Bay and Luxor is the best burger joint in Vegas called the Burger bar. The Spa suite is the way to go, your in the pyramid, with an awsome view in a nice big spa tub with some wine and your woman...doesn't get any better than that. Pros: Food, Casino, everything really Cons: none really, except for having to check out at 11am, but thats every hotel in Vegas more

Save your money for the Venetian 4/24/2007

We had specified a non smoking room and were placed in the west tower (dump) in a smoking room that smelled so bad and had peeling wallpaper and burned my eyes from the smokers who were there before me. We waited in line for everything. The food sucked and the service sucked. Next time we will be staying at the Venetian, Mandallay Bay, Bellagio or in a better place. If you like a dumpy old smokey hotel with bad service than the Luxor is for you. Pros: The Imax Theater in the Lobby and the sphinx Cons: Dirty, smoky, unfriendly service, lines everywhere, overpriced more

How can you not love a stay in a pyramid? 4/1/2007

I must admit... I just love the whole Egyptian theme to this hotel and I have always loved the design of everything here. This is one of my favorite places to stay, not because it is the nicest on the Strip, but because it is really nice and still a moderately priced stay. The rooms are probably about middle-of-the-road and are comfortable and worth it. The staff isn't really overly friendly or rude either. I do love the buffet here, especially for breakfast. Pros: Great place, fun theme, Cons: Right towards the end of the strip at the southern end. more

Not What it Once Was 11/23/2006

We have stayed at the Luxor twice. We were first here two years ago and the Luxor was a great place to stay. The first time we stayed in a tower room. That room was clean and modern-very nice. However, the second time we stayed here the room was in the original part of the hotel, the Pyramid. This room was in need of some serious updating. The age of this hotel was evident in all of its decor. The pool was the most modern amenity. The novelty of the whole pyramid thing was neat. Hotel staff was not especially friendly and helpful. One great thing was the entertainment in the Nefertti Lounge. At the time we were there David " The Sax Man" Brown was playing there. This two man group was something special and we enjoyed their music tremendously. It appears since the MGM group bought the Luxor that the changes made have caused prices to increase and service to go downhill. Pros: Great music in the Lounge Cons: Over priced more

Good 11/20/2006

after we changed rooms we loved this hotel. try to stay in the new tower and not in one of the rooms on the slanted side. more

Very Cool 11/18/2006

My stays at the Luxor have been wonderful! As with any Vegas Strip hotel, you can pretty much expect all the grandiose visuals and lavishness, but the Luxor also has the Nefretiti Lounge that is a more relaxed atmosphere with some great music. The casino is on par with the rest. The interior is what makes a Luxor stay a must. more

average at best 11/18/2006

So the outside is really neat and inside the casino and lobby area is a novelty if you're never seen it. Otherwise it is pretty much just like any other average place out there to stay. It is getting to be one of the older joints out there and I guess they are doing some renovations. So if you get a free room outta them, take otherwise, stop, look, listen, and rubberneck - then leave. more

Yeah...no. 11/17/2006

Overall average. I was here at the beginning of October for a bachelor party. The rooms were in need of some serious updating. The age of this hotel is evident in all of its decor. The pool was the most modern amenity. The novelty of the whole pyramid thing was neat and yeah, those elevators are zany. It was nice to catch the neighboring hotels through the tunnel, though. Ate at the buffet one day and it was massive but nothing special. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The in-house nightclub, RA, was ?under renovations?. Funny but the website mentioned nothing about being closed. That?s the frustrating thing about business who can?t update the most dynamic information source available, the World Wide Web! At the time I wrote this review, the website still says nothing about being under renovations or closed. Maybe it?s no longer being renovated. Who knows? We weren?t expecting much from RA since it?s old news but we were hoping to possibly get VIP or ?no line? and party in our own hotel to stay close to our rooms. I tried to talk to the manager about it but it took me getting irate to have him supposedly make some calls that never panned out. There are plenty of novelties in Vegas and this is one you can enjoy without staying here. The view from the plane during the landing is enough. more

Great scenery 11/16/2006

This is a great place if you like pyramids. The rooms are really neat and the elevators are crazy. I like the fact that you could walk to 3 hotels without going outside. more

Great Gambling 11/16/2006

We love to gamble and eat here however the rooms leave something to be desired. In most hotels, the elevator is close to the gaming floor but not here. You must walk by the meeting rooms to arrive. Also the rooms are on the small level, I think the pyramid design has something to do with it. Pros: Great action, a nice variety of slots Cons: The rooms and their proximity to the floor more

Your First Time In Vegas 11/15/2006

If you travel into Las Vegas at night, the beacon of light from the top of the pyramid lets you know that you have arrived! It practically guides you into the city The Luxor resembles the most lavish idea of a house; a house of black diamonds, topped off with a chimney of white diamonds. The slopes of the pyramid allows for an unique experience riding the elevators on a thirty-nine degree angle, to an ancient pyramid in Egypt. Pros: A unique experience Cons: The buffet could be better more

Nice quiet hotel on the south strip 11/13/2006

My friend got a suite on his birthday for a small group party. The room was nice and HUGH! It's located on the very top of the Pyramid. The glass window was angled and tint, so we could hardly see the view when it got dark and since that it's located on the south trip, we could only see not-so-attractive hotels below and desert far ahead. It's a very quiet hotel. The hotel is so hugh that it's very far to walk everywhere; to parking lot, to the pool. Pros: On the strip, Service, Value Cons: Quiet more

Good for the money 10/30/2006

This isn't a 5-star experience, but it's pretty good for the price. The rooms are a little shabby and are definitely in need of better lighting. However, there are reasonably priced food options in the food court, even late; a nice pool/jacuzzi area with plenty of lounge chairs and towels; and, a convenient tram to Excalibur and Mandalay. If you're looking for a basic launching pad to experience and enjoy Vegas, the Luxor fits the bill. more

Good value 10/30/2006

The beds were not very comfortable and the lighting was terrible. But, the location was nice. There's a food court in the hotel which is great for late-night snacking and breakfast. Also, the tram to Mandalay and Excalibur was convenient. more

Excellent Hotel 10/29/2006

The interior was stunning and the staff kept the rooms spotless. Our entire family had a great time. Pros: Staff Cons: It books up quick, need to plan. more

Best slots! :-) Actually left with more money after a week there, than I came with! :-):-):-) 10/29/2006

Only rant is the incessant interuptions by the staff trying to "give" you "free shows" etc. Every time we left the hotel or returned, someone stopped us. Irritating, at least to me. Otherwise, loved the place! Pros: Good service, great food/restaurants Cons: Constant staff intrusions to give you "free shows"...personally felt very annoying. more

avoid arriving on time for check-in procedure, it's a half hour wait in line on a slow day (Sunday). 10/5/2006

mediocre rooms, much lower quality than advertised. Poor food. Best thing is it's location next to Mandalay Bay, so it's a quick tram ride to great food and ambiance next door more

The best place to stay 10/4/2006

This is the second year in a row that myself and friends have stayed in the Luxor Pyramid room, and if we hadn't liked it the first time, we wouldn't have come back to stay there again! Last year from the moment we checked in there was an odd smell in our room, so we called the front desk, and they offered to change our room right away, no attitudes or questions about it. This year we had a wonderful room, and we received a mini fridge free of charge for our entire stay. If you're looking for a good place to eat, a nice casual place is La Salsa, delicious mexican food, and excellent margaritas. For a more sophisticated place, try Fusia located on the walkway to Mandalay Bay, it is absolutely delicious, probably the best meal I had in Vegas, we ate there 2 times in 1 week. Our waiter was Jimmy, he was fantastic, highly recommended. The pool area is clean, and the staff are friendly. The only suggestion is perhaps having an adults only pool (there are 4 pools) since myself and friends didn't appreciate getting splashed by children running around. The only downside was that we had prepared to go to RA Nightclub on our last night in Vegas, only to learn that it was closed for renovations, but there was no sign on the door of the club, we had to go to the front desk to ask about that. Also, the Pyramid cafe was closed on our last night as well, for renovations, but there was alternative restaurants listed that were open, which was alright. All in all, I would recommend Luxor in a heartbeat. more

Luxor Was Dissapointing 8/27/2006

We stayed 3 nights in Aug 2006, we were continuously bothered by marketers in the lobby who wanted us to look at Condos to get a discounted show ticket. The Pyramid cafe was closed for a re-model and the only place to get Breakfast was not that great. The West Tower rooms have no coffee pots at all, or view, they want everyone to go down to Starbucks or McDonald;s at the rise of dawn. Not even a place to get ice in the hall.. The pool closes at 8pm, I thought this was Las vegas.....They should offer more being at the other end of the strip. And most all of the casinos had no waitresses serving drinks unless you were a high roller. more
