Lucibello's Italian Pastry Shp

I lived in Ct. many years ago, and had relatives in New Haven...where I was first introduced to Lucibello's wonderful bakery! I remember being at a wedding shower where they served miniature pastries that were absolutely heavenly. Their whipped cream custard filled cakes are the most delicious cake ever made.........I lived in the Hartford area, and it was a good thing, since had I lived in the area I'd have been 400 pounds in short order! I heard that the family opened one in Boca Raton, Fl., but don't know if that's true or not.......I did live in that area, but no longer. What brought them back to my mind was a chat "thread" on Amazon.com about foods you love and where to get them.....which reminded me of Lucibello's wonderful pastry, and after a short "google" search, here I am. I don't know how anybody can say Lucibello's isn't the best Italian bakery on the planet! If you're in that area, go, buy, eat and enjoy!!! more

We live in MD, but we made sure to stop each time we are in CT. I even asked if they would ship to MD, but they don't. The cookies are fantastic and the pasteries are the best we have ever found! more

I have been buying pastry from Lucibello's for at least 40 years. It has not changed, the quality is the best and nothing can compare to it. I've gone to Little Italy and by far Lucibello's is better. more

nice job spelling down there buddyyyyyy .. YOU HAVE TO TRY the Italian cream cake with all strawberries and all vanilla it is to DIE for !! wouldnt choose anywhere else more

Lucibello's is OUTSTANDING. The individual who left a poor review must be leaving it for personal reasons other than the truth of how wonderful Lucibello's pastries are...I have been a customer of this establishment for years. Had my wedding favors, cookies and cake from Lucibello's 26 years ago - and they're still as fabulous as they ever were. EVERYTHING is made fresh - it's impossible that one would say their items are stale, etc. 99.9% of the people in the greater New Haven area know this bakery and how it has earned its outstanding reputation. I don't know a soul who has anything to do with the bakery but when I just logged on to order a cake and saw the bad review...well, I just knew it was totally unfair and unjustified. I don't like to see hard working businesses with a great reputation, great bakery items, great cleanliness and pride have their reputation besmirched by some inconsiderate, classless individual who hasn't got a clue. They have discounting éclairs and everything is bad .I am an expert and 9 out of 10 people will hate it . listen to my advice its horrible! You must not go! more

There are many pastry shops in and around New Haven but this one is the best hands down. Everything is always fresh and guaranteed to taste delicious. They are impeccably clean and the service is always excellent. I would highly recommend you try this place. more

This place is not only good at what they do - they are a cultural institution and treasured landmark in the area. I was born here (in New Haven, that is - unfortunately my parents opted for Yale-New Haven Hosp instead of Lucibello's actual shop!) and I can't remember a single major achievement in my life that didn't include a trip here for Italian Cream Cake. First Holy Communion, High School graduation, College graduation, etc.). I live in California now but I make a point to head here first when I come to town (well, after saying hi to family!) - what else would anyone want you to bring when travelling around visiting? Its a hit every time! What a treasure this place is! By the way, you better call early for Christmas orders!! The cookies are as wonderful as the pastries and cakes.....Mangia! more

Lucibellos has been in New Haven for how many years I can't even count.\r \r I think it's still good but lots has changed in the years.\r \r Still you should try it, you may like it. more

They do the most amazing wedding cakes - layers of chocolate and strawberry and cream with wonderful cream frosting. We get our parents anniversary cake here every year, and get it large enough to have leftovers all week, everyone can't wait until the cake arrives. Fresh and wonderful pastries and cookie trays. Very clean and it smells wonderful when you walk in the door. A New Haven classic! more

Do you have a sweet tooth? This is the place for you. i recently visited them by recommendation from friends and was amazed at all the great pastries and cookies here. I was in heaven and my mouth was drolling. Teh owners arseem to be wonderful peopl and very sweet. If you go in you wont coem out with one thing! I had such a hard time deciding I ended up with three cakes! there goes the diet..! more

All I can say its the best.They do have a small line waiting for these delicious pasteries.The do wedding cakes also.Its always .The prices are reasonable and well worth every penny.A+++++ more

After being highly recommended by family, we visited here recently and were extremely impressed. Their canolli are amazing. The best I've ever had. The Italian cookies are excellent as well. The two women that helped us behind the counter were very courteous and friendly and gave our daughter a free cookie. As we were visiting the area, they recommended some pizza restaurants to go to which we ended up loving too. If you're ever near New Haven, this bakery is worth the trip. more
