Dinah was terrible! She jeopardized my life and the life of my baby. I had a uterine rupture and was in excruciating pain. She didn't want to transfer me to the hospital, and tried to talk me out of it. When I insisted on going to the hospital, she began insulting me....talking badly of me to her assistant "Lindsey", making rude comments to me, asking if I have a neighbor who could help me, calling Baylor hospital and telling them I was just whining because I couldn't handle birthing pains (this was my fourth child btw), refusing to help me, saying I just wanted an epidural, telling her assistant I was crazy....the list goes on! Dinah tried to convince me to let her break my water, instead of transferring to the hospital. I refused, and she was mad. The level of disrespect and abuse was horrible. I will forever be traumatized! BTW...there was never any Pitocin used. more

Dinah took care of me from IUD-removal through our 6 week follow up with the baby. At every visit, she took the time to actually talk to me (and my husband) and really cared about my health. She asked detailed questions about my nutrition intake, sleep habits, exercise, work and stress factors, all of which were greatly appreciated. Her advice was up to date and she had a very practical but minimalist approach. She was very respectful toward my decisions during the birth, which included very few interventions. She was very flexible and capable during the birthing process...when I suddenly changed my mind about birthing in my tub, she quickly helped me out and onto my bed. When my rather large baby's shoulders became stuck, which terrified me, she knew just what to do. If and when I have another baby, it will be with Dinah. more

DO NOT USE THIS PERSON AS YOUR MIDWIFE. My daughter used her and had TERRIBLE RESULTS!!!! We have huge babies in our family and a history of pre eclampsia. This was communicated to Dinah and was no concern to her. My daughter had signs of pre eclampsia before giving birth and was barely addressed. After laboring all day, dilating to a 10 her labor wasnt progressing. My daughter was never told that the baby hadnt dropped into position during any of her exams that day. Once the baby was in distress Dinah decided she should go to the hospital. My daughter fully dilated with by Grandson in distress was told to get into their car and drive themselves to the hospital. After c section my Grandson had an indention in his head and scratches from not getting passed her hip bones THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTICED ON EXAM BY DINAH!!!!!!! When Dinah was leaving the hospital she passed by the waiting room where we were and wasn't even going to stop until I addressed her. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. One week later we are visiting my daughter in ICU for pre eclampsia which was ignored by Dinah and her covering doctor Dr Downing at Harris Methodist Richardson. My daughter will be moved to a step down room today and hopefully released soon. YES "natural birth" can happen but not for everyone and not with Dinah!!! Choose a midwife that knows when she is out of her realm of expertise PLEASE : WE GOT VERRRRY LUCKY!!! more

Good: Dinah was great about calling my wife when a miscarriage gave us an unexpected opportunity to use her. We had heard great things about this birth center and were thinking about using it even though it wasn't the closest place from our home.. Bad: Before we got to come in for an interview the slot we were being offered was given away. No note about the purpose of our meeting was listed so we didn't get notice of this until the day of our meeting itself. When I called to understand why it happened Sherry actually hung up on me!. Improvements: Given that my complaint had initially stemmed from an oversight by the midwife herself I'm disappointed that I never even got an apology.. Other: In my own business if I can't help someone I try hard to give them a good recommendation for an alternative arrangement. Also: if I make a mistake I own up to it. Ultimately Lovers' Lane treated me like I would have expected to be treated by a hospital: soft voices but no sensitivity, just hard edges.. more
