Los Lupes scored 74 out of 100, the lowest out of the many restaurants investigated by the health and sanitation department. No other restaurant even scored in the seventies. 4 points from failing the health and sanitation code.. I was shocked, because they do have pretty good food. But who wants to eat food and pay good money for food that was prepared in an unsanitary environment. check it out for yourself on the city of carrollton website under restaurant cores. ** (This review is for the Addison location ) Mexican food is my most favorite. I've been to Los Lupes in Addison many many times, as it is just a few blocks from where I live. I would rate the service quite good most of the time. (Avoid happy hour on Friday, it's a madhouse, chaotic, loud, and service drops several notches) Nice atmosphere, funky decor. The most outstanding menu item - the El Jefe margaritas. YUM !! a bargain @ $7.00. Al, one of the bartenders, makes the very best !! As for the food, I would rate it just average, but it certainly is the most inexpensive mexican food around. Their prices are just amazing. My favorite dish is the taco salad with shredded chicken., guacamole, sour cream, etc. Ingredients are fresh, and the serving is ample. The chips and salsa are okay, I've had better elsewhere. If you order cheese enchiladas, be sure to add fresh chopped onions on top (adds to the flavor), and specify if you want chili con carne or chili con queso on top. Sometimes the server gets confused as to which sauce to apply. Yes, I will go back. It's a fun place and an inexpensive meal."" I do believe that this resturant is one of the best places if not the best place a person can find mexican food. The service is good the food is great and the atmosphere is festive. I would recomend this place to anyone looking for good mexican food. I try to eat there as often as possible just for the shere joy of the experiance. This place is so authentic. The food is wonderful, they have great food/drink specials so there is something for everyone. The service is amazing - I have never had any complaints. You must try the fried icecream! Oh yeah, the prices are so low compared to my other favorite Mexican restaurants! I love coming with all my family cause we always get treated so well and not one time we have had a problem there before, specially when Martin is there and the manager Fernando. They know me well and my entire family too.
