Lisa Power Salon

I have spent a lot of time searching through all the reviews on citysearch to find a salon that would be able to stand behind what it advertises. I read reviews for salons like seven, vain and gary manuel. I remembered reading a negative review on gary manuels page that stood out. I decided not to go because the review was so bad and I tried Lisa Power Salon instead. I had the best experience and left feeling beautiful. Worth every cent. Best Salon in town. I was so pleased that I decided to post a review on citysearch and realized that the review that had been written most recent sounded exactly like one I had read for Gary Manuel. I couldn't believe my eyes. This NANTUCKET NAN had a lot of nerve. You mean to tell me that after all these MASTER stylists have spent probably hours of their time for free you still complain. Shame on you. Don't listen to her. I have fine hair and Lisa Power rocked out the best style of my life. Thanks Lisa Power Salon and don't let reviews like the one below get you down. The customer service at Lisa Power is great! The stylists and staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. The salon itself has a very down-to-earh feel. However, they are not at their best when cutting fine hair. I've had my hair, which is quite fine, cut by two different stylists there, and both times my hair has not looked good at all after I've come home and try to style it myself. "It was like stepping into your own home but way better." I was immediately greeted with the frendliest of smiles. Within seconds I knew the artistry I was experiencing all around me had to be the brain child of a friend I hadn't seen in 7 years, Lisa Power! Boy was I right. Lisa and I had worked around the world educating hairdressers on future trends as well as creative product usage for Sebastian International. Everything Lisa and I always spoke about in terms of how a Salon should work, quality of work, education for staff, superlative customer service, warm and creative environment and superior colour knowledge was there. Happening right in front of my eyes! Not only is Lisa Power Salon the place to go for quality and up to date work but, what a magnificent place for a true artist to work! I live in New York and have not been able to get to Seattle till now. What a great city! What a magnificent Salon! It may be time for me to relocate........ more

I started with Lisa at Gary Manuel and loved her then! I travel to Seattle from Alaska a lot and always fit in my appointment with Lisa. I always love what she does with my color and get tons on compliments on it every time I get it done. I really like the way she cuts, she definately takes what you want and discusses it further to truely get the best look for you. more

I must say to my suprise, I love my new haircut and color. Now, I'm not your average "salon type" person. I usually get my haircut at a place ( I won't name names) that pulls thier scissors out of toolboxes and you are paying cheap money for bad attitude and a haircut. So, when I dragged my scrappy 20 miles a day cyclist self in to Lisa Powers Salon, Sarah, to my suprise didn't miss a beat. Warm latte in hand and lots of ideas for a cut that could accomodate my biking everyday and the hectic life of a kindergarten teacher. I felt so comfortable in her abilities that I sat back in the chair sipping my latte while she cooked up a fantanstic hair color that made me look energized and let's face it not so tired and wrung out. Another service that I would have been lost without was her wonderful selection of hair products for me. Not being well versed in the land of hair product, without being pushy and trying to up-sell me, Sarah walked me through exactly what I needed and how to use it. I have to admit I'm addicted to the fantastic haircut and color I recieved I'll defiantly be back for good times, good coffee, great attitude, and honestly the best cut and color of my life! more

I highly recommend Sarah! She sat with me and discussed what I wanted, offering ideas and suggestions before we even headed to the shampoo sink. She helped me find a style that was flattering as well as fitting my lifestyle...for which I am eternally grateful! Additionally she assisted me in different ways to apply cosmetics as well as find the right colors (what a difference that made!!!). It completely changed my look...definitely for the better! Sarah has been cutting my hair for years and I never, NEVER, fail to get compliments on it everywhere I go. My latest encounter was with a man I didn't know telling me he owned his own salon and "oh my God, who cuts your hair?" He just HAD to feel the cut! (Yes, I let him, it meant a lot to him). Sarah has a great eye and is meticulous. She listens, asks a lot of questions and is good at explaining to me how hair works - it is truly a science. She also gives the best head massage I've ever had, really, you'll never find one as good. Furthermore, everyone at Lisa's salon is fantastic. I highly recommend this salon! more

Sarah at the Lisa Powers salon has colored and cut my hair numerous times and I have always felt completely refreshed, happy and beautiful after each experience. She is wonderful with color (even brought my hair back to a beautiful, natural-looking highlighted state for my wedding). Sarah is great with hip, fun styles but can also master those still attached to the kind of hair that can be tossed back in a ponytail. more

I'm a natural redhead, but my natural color is sort of a pale strawberry blonde. Sarah at Lisa Power Salon took me to the next level! She found the PERFECT hair color for me--a beautiful, warm copper. It actually makes me look like I have a better complexion! Incredible but true. I was born with red hair, but I've been highlighting it for years. I've been to a lot stylists. A LOT. Expensive ones, not as expensive ones, really inexpensive ones. No matter what they charged or where they attended school, I've never LOVED my hair. Never. I've never been to one though where I actually sang out loud (yes - sang!) "I love my hair!" while still sitting in the chair in the salon. I can't say enough good things about Lisa and her entire staff. The whole enviroment is cozy, warm, welcoming. I waited a week after I had my transformation before writing this review-I didn't want to write it basking in the glow of a fabulous haircut and an unbelievably wonderful color!! But guess what ? I'm still basking !! This was my first experience with Lisa at her salon and it won't be my last-she has a client for life. I was blonde,long hair,damaged dry hair..blah blah blah and I wanted a change. I saw a recent review naming Lisa the best colorist if you wanted to go red or blonde. I was ready to change to red so I made my appointment-little did I know what I was walking into. A salon with staff that makes you feel like an old friend who hasn't been seen in a long time-there is such an energy and warmth here. I put myself in Lisa hand's -told her I didn't want carrot top red and didn't want it real short-she is a wizard and can read minds-because when I walked out I waked out with exactly the color and cut I had in mind. Friends and co-workers tell me it's sassy and can't believe the change. Lisa makes magic happen in every day life. If you want a change,or just have a bad haircut or bad color run to this place and don't wait because I suspect that very soon Lisa is going to be booked solid when word gets out about how talented she is and what a warm welcoming environment she has created. 5 stars doesn't even begin to rate the service-thanks Lisa Pros: Everything about this place including the fabulous lattes ! I love Lisa and I love her salon! I've been a faithful client for 9 years and have consistently walked out feeling gorgeous, well-cared for, valued and appreciated. I have thick brown hair which is now a bit gray and Lisa has done wonders with making me look and feel youthful and glamorous. She's cut my hair short, long, blunt and layered. She's done highlights, low-lights and every shade in between. No matter what she does, at least one person stops me every week to ask me where I get my hair done. Even now that I live 60 miles away, I still travel to see her monthly and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Her new salon is pretty, friendly, and easy to visit. I'm always welcomed with warm, friendly smiles and much attention. The lattes are as great but not as great as her customer service! more

I highly recommend the Lisa Power Salon - I recently had my thick, naturally dark brown (with bad highlights) hair transformed into a glossy red mane. Lisa was excellent at judging the right shade of red for me, which came as a very pleasant surprise as I have been experimenting with copper highlights and glazes for about 18 months at salons in Seattle and DC with little success. Going from Blonde to red , I must admit, I was nervous...Lisa is brilliant!!! She is a true mixologist. My hair is the PERFECT shade(s) of red. No one has ever been able to make it look so natural! So I went to see Lisa Powers after reading in Seattle magazine that she was the "Best " for red and let me tell you she is even better for Blonde. First off the Salon (although a little hidden) is so hip, quaint, and leaves you wanting more. From the moment you walk in the doors you leave the hussle and bussle of the world behind you, because you are greeted by the warmest staff (unlike other salons I have been too like 7 where you feel not "Cool Enough" to even be making an appt), great music and an owner who is truly PASSIONATE about making you look and feel pretty. Once you finish the conceltation her assistant (I believe her name is Sarah) will sit you down and give you the BEST HEAD MASSAGE SHAMPOO I have EVER HAD IN MY 56 years. I did not think it could get any better until I sat down and had Lisa and her assistant work on me. I went from "soccer mom" to "hot momma" in about an hour. IT WAS WORTH EVERY CENT. Did I also mention that they offer you fresh made lattes? If you are one of the lucky ones to get in with Lisa then you will enjoy every minute.
