Went to the Broadway location in San Antonio, specifically for the Ireland v France World Cup Qualifier match on Nov 14th. Called ahead of time to confirm that match was being shown, asked prior to ordering anything if the match would be show, affirmatives in both instances. Well, we had a couple of pints, ordered some food and what do you think. Game time rolled around and we stared at screens with a ""no signal"" message for THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF while our waitress assured us that the game would be shown. I must say that this place was half full with lads in green looking for the game and that they continued to make assurances and sell, sell, sell for the entire time. By halftime, our waitress was sent around to inform everyone that due technical difficulties, the match would not be shown and that she would call the other locations to find out if they were showing it. Everyone at the pub, including management knew that there were ZERO other bars in San Antonio airing this match. Why even put something like that out there? So now we have a pub more than half full of Irish fans, who only showed up for this match and a promise of a pointless phonecall was all that was done to atone for the situation. How about knocking a pint or two or an order of food off the check? How about offering something, anything for the people who went out of their way to get to this location, only to be baited and switched with tales of ""technical difficulties""? I must say, I've been to pubs for matches and NEVER have I seen this, the match has always been on, in fact, everyone has been ready for any possible difficulties up to two hours before. These people didn't bother changing the channel until exactly 2PM, virtually guaranteeing that any difficulty would result in a no show situation. Really does make one wonder if the match were ever to be shown. Needless to say, I won't be returning and they have some work to do to get anyone besides college students to care about this below standard location. Oh and the food we did order was rubbish and extremely overpriced, $9 for an order of hot wings and I don't think there were 9 wings on the plate.
Pros: Good Beer
Cons: Poor Management
