I was looking for a good new mover, since I had been using the same one for years, and they had gotten bad reviews under their new management. I called Lighthouse Moving since they were a local St. Paul business, and I checked them out online. I was delighted with them.
A couple young men came to help me with a massive amount of moving in the 100 degree heat. Everything came out how I wanted. I was on a budget, and I didn't want them to take too long, so they kept it under six hours. They were also amenable to directions, and delivered my color coded boxes to three drop-off locations. Organization is important, and you can't expect them to do their best without it, so I found it best to talk to them and give directions. They were very nice people.
Nothing was damaged either. They shrink-wrapped my loose things and covered my drawers. My only reservation, and this applies to any mover at all, is that if you're disorganized, you can't expect them to know what to do with your stuff. Even with a minimum amount of organization, they will move your stuff in a lot less time. I have done many moves, and so I know those that if you're a reasonably organized customer, they will be excellent.
The young men from Lighthouse Moving were experienced, strong, and had all the good tools. I was very happy with them and would use their service again. They were completely patient with the fact that I needed to put down more labels after they arrived, and their rates are competitive too. They did the job with two guys, so I was impressed. John assured me they would be capable, and it worked out absolutely perfectly.
