Cherry Creek Athletic Club is top notch! The place is massive with abundant options for a workout, classes, swimming, training, spa experience and even coffee! The staff is very ...

I have been a member at CCAC for many years now and overall it is one of the best places, with a great location in Denver. I love many things about the club including the people ...

Wonderful all around experience 4/2/2008

I joined the club several months ago and have been amazed at every aspect of my experience thus far. I don't remember what I did with my time before I started coming here! There are an incredible amount of classes, activities, workshops, social events, etc. I read the review prior to this one and I agree with the positive comments but am in complete disagreement with the comment on the club integration, arrogance of the staff and the lack of caring about the full experience. I am interested in cross-training. The sales staff not only helped me sign up for equipment orientation (which is free to everyone, ALL THE TIME,whether you are a new member or not you just have to sign up in a book at the front desk), they also brought me around and introduced me to the people in charge of the programs I was interested in. Everyone I talked to on the sales staff is involved in their own fitness program so they were very knowledgeable in helping me decide what classes to take. The front desk is fun and silly, the managers are busy but friendly, the members all seem happy to be here and I have enjoyed all the classes I've taken. Special recognition to Jackie in Aquatics--she has generated so much excitement about the program that they brought their first team to the state meet. She has also been instrumental in beginning a Triathlon Training Club that meets for the first time this month. This is a place with a lot of good stuff going on--and every person on the staff is clearly interested in making sure that I have the opportunity to reach my fitness goals and have fun doing it! THANK YOU STAFF AT CHERRY CREEK ATHLETIC CLUB!!! Pros: Programs, staff, passion of the members about fitness, facility Cons: Sometimes parking is crowded more

Bad first impression and initial experience... great trainer and facility though 3/28/2008

I was really unhappy with the sales process and total lack of integration into the facility. They say one thing when the opposite is true. It was a terrible experience and 1st impression. Pros: GREAT personal trainers, Terrific LINE Staff (excluding sales / office) , Beautiful Facility Cons: Arrogant Sales Team, not interested at all in the client experience, will say anything to make a sale. Very expensive. Cost v. Value just not there. Parking more

Bad first impression and initial experience... great trainer and facility though 3/28/2008

I was really unhappy with the sales process and total lack of integration into the facility. They say one thing when the opposite is true. It was a terrible experience and 1st impression. Part of the deal is one session with a trainer. All I wanted was to be shown some of the machines and to get comfortable with the facility. I was later told that is not what the session was for. It is just business development for the trainers. This is not a place for a newbie, unless you are willing to pay even more money to work with a trainer, just to get familiar with the facility and the equipment. The club is very expensive. I would have thought, there would be someone there one could go to to help one get familiar with the club. It is a huge place and I wanted to get the most out of it. Not so. I was totally put off by the attitude. They are VERY VERY full of themselves at CCAC. The sales staff just want to make sales. The client experience is someone elses job apparently and not their concern. That is very very clear. On the good side, the line staff are great! Very helpful, upbeat, fun. The facility is beautiful. I began working with a personal trainer and he is FANTASTIC- Michael Ditchfield! The best part of CCAC and well worth the investment. He changed my mind about the whole thing. The club by itself is too expensive though and justifies its arrogance by its proximity to Cherry Creek and Cherry Creek clients... which I happen to be, but there needs to be a cost / value proposition to every purchase and CCAC does not get it. If you join and are not already familiar with weights and machines and proper form, sign up for sessions with a personal trainer. It is the only way to get familiar with an overwhelming facility, sold by people who could not care less if you use it or not. Pros: GREAT personal trainers, Terrific LINE Staff (excluding sales / office) , Beautiful Facility Cons: Arrogant Sales Team, not interested at all in the client experience, will say anything to make a sale. Very expensive. Cost v. Value just not there. Parking more

Cherry Creek Athletic Club 12/17/2007

I have been a member for over 20 years and have seen a lot of changes, mostly good. Recently the owners have been firing all of the experienced yoga, spin and aerobic teachers. My understanding is that if the instructor has a job somewhere else they are asked to quit it and only work at this club exclusively. (How can an instructor afford to live off of a few classes per week?) Tina Potter, who is in charge of the yoga department, was recently let go because she would not sign an exclusivity agreement. She is a dynamite instructor (the best I have ever learned from). The owners must be crazy. Improvements are nice, but every improvement means higher dues. They are getting unaffordable - maybe you should check out 24 Hour Fitness Club before signing up here. Pros: A lot of variety in equipment, newly remodeled locker rooms Cons: Too expensive, too many improvements for the value, firing good instructors more

Was great - but sliding downhill 8/9/2007

I have been a member of this gym for 5 years now. They made some very nice improvements to the locker rooms, the cardio theater is a blessing (each cardio machine has its own tv), and the classes are nice and located in private areas. They keep the cardio and weight machines up to date, which keeps me at this gym. My complaints: Summer months become obnoxious with the outdoor pool being open to children. Every child in town is running and screaming through the ladies locker rooms (discipline doesn't exist when the nanny is gone), and the cleanliness of the locker rooms has dropped. Pros: Updated machines, great classes, nice facility Cons: expensive more

Overall - it is a very nice club, and listening to your ipod can drown out the majority of the irritating qualities. Club owners ---please stop allowing kids in the locker rooms! It is annoying and not necessary. Also, blocking cell phone usage in the locker rooms and gym would be a nice touch--I think they can wait a few more minutes for that call. Pros: Updated machines, great classes, nice facility Cons: expensive more

I almost left...but found out this is the best value in town 7/23/2007

I love the place. When they raised our price in the Fall, I considered leaving. I checked at every club within 5 miles. I found out this is the least expensive full-service upscale club in the city. I'm glad I looked around because it made me appreciate all we get at CCAC. There may be a few snobby members, but there are so many more nice ones--just like anywhere. I've had 2 issues in my time at CCAC. Both times I talked to this nice manager and she helped me handle the problems. It's a nice place to be. Pros: Park in free lot, run in front door--very convenient. more

Great place, great empoyees, some members need to go. 3/9/2007

The service and the employees are great. Many of the members though are just animals. It's not uncommon to find: 1. People shaving in the steam room (eventhough posted signs clearly say not to) 2. Men walking around sans towels attempting to be looked at and cruising 3. People coughing in the steam room - completely inconsiderate Also, the snack bar is run my a woman who is rarely there for more than 4 or 5 hours a day. They should increase the price to 300.00 per month to lose all non-serious members who use the club for the wrong reasons and use the extra funds to keep the snack bar open. Great machines though and great trainers. Pros: equipment, staff Cons: members who use the club for the wrong reasons more

Some recent changes have left me less than happy 9/20/2006

I've been a member of Cherry Creek Athletic for 3+ year. I see a personal trainer twice a week. Outside of my mortgage, this club is my biggest single expense. Recently they have changed their policies and begun expiring my pre-paid training sessions. The new deal is that if you buy fewer than 10 sessions the sessions are more expensive and if you do buy 10 they expire and vanish from your account before you can use them. Not a great way to say thank you to members. On top of this, the club has been markedly less clean lately. Im there at 6:30 in the morning and as I do pushups my breath sends dirt and hairs swirling. And for Gods sake dont look under the weights. I give the 4 points because I am hoping these are fixable problems. Who knows. Ive filled in comment cards and no one seems to care. Steve 9-20-06 more

The best fitness decision I ever made! 11/20/2005

I couldn't be happier with Cherry Creek Athletic Club- I have never felt better than I do now! After surgery, I had gained weight and was very out of shape and tired. The personal trainer I used was highly motivating, and got me doing a program that worked for me. The classes have kept things fun and exciting, and I love Pilates and yoga- I'd never tried them before & they have made a huge difference! This is a great place to workout or relax, and I just love spending time here. The staff, facilities, & amenities are the nicest of any Club I've ever been to- it's definitely more than a gym, and I can attribute my health, weight loss, happiness, etc. to the Club!! Pros: Cardio Theater Ezone, Spa is wonderful!, Yoga program more
