I have been a member for over 20 years and have seen a lot of changes, mostly good. Recently the owners have been firing all of the experienced yoga, spin and aerobic teachers. My understanding is that if the instructor has a job somewhere else they are asked to quit it and only work at this club exclusively. (How can an instructor afford to live off of a few classes per week?)
Tina Potter, who is in charge of the yoga department, was recently let go because she would not sign an exclusivity agreement. She is a dynamite instructor (the best I have ever learned from). The owners must be crazy.
Improvements are nice, but every improvement means higher dues. They are getting unaffordable - maybe you should check out 24 Hour Fitness Club before signing up here.
Pros: A lot of variety in equipment, newly remodeled locker rooms
Cons: Too expensive, too many improvements for the value, firing good instructors
