Front Desk Girl Nicole, an angel! 5/14/2009

I went in to be seen last week and I just have to say that Nicole, she is a receptionist there, she was soo incredibly friendly and easy going! She knew her job very well and she was quick to have me seen after I filled out the necessary paperwork. She was very helpful when I had questions and never made me feel like I was just another patient walking in. I hope that she is treated well at the clinic and I hope that her managers understand that she plays a big role in the excellent customer service! Pros: Best Clinic in Portland more

The most careing clinic, Ive ever been to. 1/25/2009

I was recently a new patient here, and from the moment walked in and was greeted by the front desk staff, I was treated with frendly smiles and respect and quick answers to questions I had, all 3 were wonderful. the nurses and doctor I saw were just great as well, everyone has their attention directly on you when they are working with you, no distractions, or dr.s rushing through the room just to get you in and out. it was a GREAT experience for me, especially because I hate going to gyn offices. they made it a piece of cake! Pros: friendly, careing smiling staff Cons: NONE! more

caring docs for women 12/4/2008

\r This clinic has customer service as a priority for all their employees and Dr's. From the time you check in at the reception desk to meeting the Dr's nurse and then the physician everyone is there for the patient. I recently had a bad experience at another OB/GYN office, so I was very happy with the care I recieved at Gateway Women's Clinic. I am happy to refer my family and friends to this clinic My husband and I plan on starting a family soon and this is where I will go for my prenatal care. Pros: efficient front office, caring nursing staff and Dr's. more

Best care I have received anywhere 7/8/2008

The Gateway Women's Clinic is the best doctors office I have ever walked into. The doctor's there I have had the chance to meet are the most compassionate and caring doctors I have had the pleasure of encountering. I was lucky enough to find a doctor who meets my own personal approach to medicine (straight to the point and wont carry on a conversation with my va-jay-jay) and still able to answer all of my questions. I was lucky enough to find a doctor at this office that takes my thoughts and feelings about various methods of treatment into consideration.\r \r So, in my opinion, this is a great office. I will continue to recommend them to women all over the Portland area. Pros: doctors, nurses, services provided, level of care provided Cons: cant think of any more

Wonderful to Women 1/6/2008

I began going to this clinic when I was 18 years old. I am now 27 and am continuing to go. There are a variety of styles of ""doctoring practice"". There is a traditionalist style, a earthy style, and a calm angelic approach. All the staff are warm and caring. I hope to get pregnant in the future and would wholly trust the medical care of myself and child to these people! They are also very willing to work with duala's and other naturalistic approaches.\r \r WONDERFUL! Pros: Meets a variety of needs Cons: none! more

Not recommended if you are at all sensitive or human 9/12/2007

My experience here was extremely upsetting. I was seen for chronic yeast infections, and at my first visit the doctor almost made me cry. He was insensitive to my discomfort, and extremely argumentative when I voiced my desire to not take birth control pills (which is an issue completely unrelated to my infections). However I had heard he was an excellent doctor so I went back for a second visit. He did not seem to remember me at all. He repeated almost word-for-word much of what he had said to me the first time, and again argued with me about birth control. When he was examining me he put silver nitrate on my infection with no warning or explanation--I later learned that silver nitrate is what they use to burn off warts. I spent the rest of the day on prescription painkillers because the pain was so excruciating. Due to this experience I feel determined to never see a male gynecologist again. more

Realistic and down to earth but careful 6/29/2007

I am currently pregnant with my 3rd child that I will deliver with my Dr. at this clinic. I started having children really young and was very unaware of what to expect. When I first met my dr my first impression was she was a total *&^%$, but as I went on from each apt I realized she actually wasnt at all, infact she was truely a very down to earth dr and was very willing to make sure anything I had a concern about was addressed. The nurse that works with her has also been a doll to work with. Im now older and having #3. I recently missed my dr at an appt due to her having to deliver a baby. But she went out of her way to call me later that night and touch base with me and my pregnancy. I have recommended other people to her who at first think she is rude and then as they get to know her LOVE HER. I think that over all, the clinic has been great to me. as far as the comments on the other posts, thats really too bad to hear such terrible things happened, but Im sure every clinic has had issues at one point or another. There may be other docs or nurses there that dont seem to know what they are doing but Dr. Dina Levin was not one of them to me! more

If you seek a compassionate, professional provider, READ THIS FIRST 2/6/2007

I was seen by a physician there for PCOS and she had a student with her-for my first visit. I was treated like a subject in a classroom instead of a human. The student took my health history while the doctor left the room. Women with this condition are already extremely sensitive and the manner in which I was ""cared for"" was humiliating. She even said that if I can't conceive with my husband's low count I should consider a donor. She didn't know enough about me to be so rude, but made the assumption anyway. Because of this horrible experience, I have avoided going to an OBGYN for 2 years but have now found a wonderful provider who treats me like a person and gives the kind of medical care any woman would expect. If you are sensitive to your condition and need a provider who will talk with you so that you understand your condition and options, don't go here. Pros: None. Cons: Sterile, cold provider with terrible bedside manner. more

I stand by them! 2/2/2007

After reading the reviews I am wondering if I am going to the same place. I see Dr. Levin at the Gateways Women's Clinic. I do agree that I have to wait when going in to see her. I have yet to see any Ob office that does not have a wait. This is always something you have to deal with when going to see an Ob/Gyno Doctor. I have always been treated great even by the nurses. I have to see them every 3 months due to ovarian cancer and they have even stayed on top of things when I am late for my check ups. I have recommended Dr. Levin to others who are also now seeing her and they also have nothing but possitive things to say. I have been in there when there are other patients being rude and nasty to the staff and they took the abuse and still continued to be very professional. Pros: concerned doctors and nurses, ability to help you get the best care when finances are an issue Cons: parking more

SHUT THEM DOWN 1/11/2007

LONG STORY SHORT, I WENT TO THIS CLINIC FOR THE PREGNANCY OF MY SECOND CHILD. I GOT A PHONE CALL STATING THAT MY STD TEST RESULTS WERE IRREGULAR. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE I FLIPPED OUT ON MY HUSBAND. I RETURNED FOR ANOTHER TEST. AS I GOT DRESSED, THE VILE WITH MY SAMPLE HAD ANOTHER WOMAN'S NAME ON IT. THE NURSE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT WAS NOT ME. THIS WAS THE FINAL STRAW FOR ME. IT CREATED SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH MY RELATIONSHIP. IMMEDIATELY, I SAW ANOTHER OB TO CONFIRM THAT MY STD RESULTS WERE COMPETELY CLEAN. THE GATEWAY WOMEN'S CLINIC IS HORRIBLE. THIS ALSO BROKE CONFIDENTIALITY SINCE I NOW KNOW THAT THE OTHER WOMAN HAD AN STD. IT IS FINE IF YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ANY QUESTIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY AND DO NOT MIND DOUBLE BOOKED 15 MINUTE APPOINTMENTS. Pros: NONE AT ALL!!! Cons: LIKE A MEAT MARKET, ONE THAT MIXES UP LAB RESULTS. more

Not a good clinic!! 12/7/2006

Was a member of this clinic, but keept getting the run around when I was told I had an infection. So I was treated, but infection kept coming back. Then doctor when on vacation for a month and wasn't able to get in due to that. I asked to see another doctor for the circumstances and was told that they don't do that. I told them that I was going to keep living with this infection after they told me I need to come back in if it keeps coming back. they basically pushed me away. Was very inconsiderate and I don't like this clinic at all. more
