This is a excellent center 4/14/2011

I had a difficult time finding a place that was even semi clean, this was one of the few perks of this place that interested me, looks and smells clean andalways lively. I always see my son coming home with lots of artwork, writing practice. he has learned so much for since his short time here of a few months. He literally does not stop talking about the interesting subjects he learns in class. his preschoolteachers are great people to talk to and seeing them interact with the children all the time is just what i like to see. the staff are friendly and helpful, the female owner is very nice to talk to and helped soothe my worries about preschools, she was very straight forward with me about everything which i liked. especially when she helped work out a good deal on my odd schedules to bring my son in which many other centers i toured did not do. I like it here and so does my 3 year old. would recommend to anyone... more

Sad we had to leave :( 4/7/2011

had to move out of state and it was very hard for us and the kids. this place had taken care of my kids for 5 years. Its astonishing to see how much they learn and have fun at the same time. It was true pleasure to have my children there knowing that they were learning. more

Good place for my four year old 4/7/2011

I was recommended here by a parent who attends the same class as my son now, being a first time and admittedly an overprotective parent I was very skeptical of childcare. This is the first time my son has been in a preschool, I needed to get him into a social atmosphere so he can be prepared for kindergarten. His teacher mr. sean is very courteous to us and made me feel much better about leaving him in his class. His teacher is very nice and sweet to the children and teaches them a lot of things my son can't stop talking about at and mr. sean home. Makes me happy that I picked a good place for him. Its unfortunate the other posters did not feel the same way, so far he has been enrolled 3 months now and I have no complaints. Hopefully nothing changes but I think its a great fit for us. more

Would never go back! 4/4/2011

My child went here about 7 months ago. We felt like the turn over was really high and the staff was rude (mostly the wife owner) I have since read many of the other complaints and am amazed I didnt see all of these issues sooner. I read about owners posting there own reviews and can see that is true. After reading the ""comment"" on another negative review below I found my self wondering how many parents just ""happen to stumble across a review sight while searching for a number to their childs daycare"" I must be ""too expecting and neurotic"" as well since I have those numbers memorized! Other sights have didfferent posters claiming the same story! Amusing... more

my kids like it 3/7/2011

My little girl has been going here for 10 months now and she loves it! place is always clean and there is art work everywhere for everyone to see and always fun projects going home. not once have i any need to worry about my child and her well being. more

So happy my little one is no longer here! 1/10/2011

I would also do 0 stars if possible. The staff is extremely unprofessional. One of the owners herself can be found in the front lobby cursing and swearing at any given time. If you have an issue they deny it ever happened instead of working for a resolution. The doors are not secure as the systems are constanly down and they just let people in. more

zero stars 12/30/2010

I would do 0 stars if possible- really a poor choice, you and your children will be treated badly. Very rude owners and some staff unbelievably unprofessional. more

My little ones won't be back at TLC 11/15/2010

The owner and his family write a lot of reviews on here and other sites. If you want a customer opinion, I would say not a good place when there are many others close by to choose from. I would only go back as last resort since I don't think kids are supervised as well as in other places, meaning negligence among the staff. With management there's definitely a lot of negativity if you bring up concerns about anything. You can see that by checking the comments the owner leaves attacking people. That's another reason I would never choose them again. more

Couldn't wait to get our child out TLC 10/7/2010

If you're wondering about a good and nurturing place for kids, this is far from it. Things look good on the tour but changes fast after you sign up. They make you do 2 weeks notice if you want to leave so if you want your child out ASAP you need to wait a whole 2 weeks or pay the full amount. We experienced care issues (lack of) in the 1yr room - injuries, lost items, no one knowing what happened during the day when you ask questions. 2 weeks can seem like forever. more

Love the Ones Teacher!! 8/20/2010

I would completely disagree with this statement about Miss Becca the one year old teacher. I have had 3 children in miss beccas classroom throughout the past 4 years ive been at TLC. Miss Becca is a wonderful energetic upbeat teacher who truly loves the children. She is very informative when i come to pick up and lets me know about how my childs day went. She communicates very well with the parents. I have never seen her in a rough manner with any child! Also my Children have NEVER been sent home unfeed. I am very happy my children were in her classroom, My children would come home with a new art project daily and learned alot. Im sorry you had that kind of experience at the learning curve but i absolutley love it here more

I?ve had a nightmarish experience at TLC, please read below. 1/16/2010

Since this all happened, I found out you can review child care facilities at AZ Dept of Human Services. In 2009 TLC was cited for high child to staff ratios in 5 out of 8 rooms. Check the AZ Dept of Human Services for all their other citations. My personal experience includes watching my 12 month old child on TLC?s internet camera being force fed by her teacher Becca in a rough manner; I saw her chair jolted to the side, her arms pulled, and her head restrained. Needless to say I was sick after witnessing that. After raising the issue with Jenna in management, I was told they would speak to the teacher (this is in the one year old room). Right after the incident, we had several days where my daughter was seriously underfed (you should know TLC does not provide food unlike other day cares, you need to pack your own food) and I would see HALF of what I gave her still in the bag, not touched, but the worst was when I found ALL her food still there. My husband and I talked to Jenna more than once, resulting in excuses with them (Jenna and the owner, Ted) denying these events occurred. In my opinion it's hard to deny camera footage and food sitting in our day care bag, but that?s what they did. I asked for them to review the footage and I was told they didn?t save it. I also had food logs with missing information that would all the sudden be filled out differently the next day. Even though incidents like this are not easy to prove, I filed a complaint with AZDHS. I hope other parents will not have to go through anything like this. I believe that anyone who cares for children must have the patience and compassion needed for the job, which is what I expect of my daughter?s caregivers. I would never recommend TLC to anyone and I can say from experience that management did not ensure guidelines were being met; rather they were concerned with denying and covering up issues. Cons: Overcrowded, children not fed properly, rough treatment more

one of the top daycares! 10/27/2008

I worked at the learning curve for 2 years and loved it. fellow co-workers were nice and genuinely cared about their children in care and their jobs as teachers. their were a few bad apples but there is at every workplace, but after working here and comparing other places to TLC. TLC is FAR above the others and it made me really appriciate how good I had it there. Pros: High paid employees, Cleanliness, Professional, Caring Cons: only one location as of now :( more

I feel my child is safe and treated well 12/26/2007

My child likes it there. They have a low turnover rate of employees so we consistently see familiar faces. The place is cleaner than the other places I looked into and the people just seem brighter and more awake than the other day care centers I looked into. The play ground equipment is all in working order. Sometimes some of the indoor toys are missing pieces but they appear to still be safe. People entering the infant rooms are asked to remove their shoes to help keep the floor clean. Occasionally a parent might ignore the request, but for the most part parents comply. All the employees comply. All the classrooms I've seen have sealed floors with play mats. This helps them keep the place clean. The thing that originally attracted me to the place was the webcams. I can log in to check on my child. Of course the changing station area is not viewable and some cribs aren't either. I've discovered that a child's crib can be moved to a location in camera view if requested. The 1 year old rooms go outside to play more often and the facility also has a 'gym' which is a large padded room for children to run around in. The playground and gym are not accessible through the webcams. Still, the webcam feature this daycare offers is a plus. They only offer webcam service for children 3 and under. They do NOT provide meals. This is not a problem for me because I prefer to provide food for my child. To get beyond the reception area, you need to either be let in by someone or you enter a door code and provide a thumbprint scan. They are a little more expensive for the average in the valley but in line with the price of other daycare centers in that part of Gilbert. Pros: low turnover rate, webcams, clean more
