Amazing food in a well designed setting. 12/30/2009

I have eaten in over 50 restaurants, in New York, Boston, and San Fransisco, and have never had a better meal. The service was top notch, the presentation was excellent, and the food was nearly beyond description. The dishes have a unique quality and excellent flavor, and are prepared just perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone - above all others in here in the Valley, and I would encourage others to travel here, just to eat there. Pros: Excellant food and Professional Service Cons: you will eat too much..... it's too hard to resist. more

Best Utah restaurant, possibly the best anywhere! 5/9/2009

The best food/service/food/staff/food/atmosphere/food and value in Utah (by far), and possibly anywhere else we have ever been. (Have I mentioned ?the food? there?) My wife and I (and three children) are transplants from New York, where we lived for most of our lives (on Long Island, about an hour and a half drive from NYC, or 55 minutes on the Long Island Railroad). We moved to Utah over 13 years ago (long story, but talk about ""culture shock"").We certainly have no regrets, though, but ever since, we have longed for the great food which we enjoyed during our ""past lives"" back east, especially the Italian delicacies, since my wife is Italian (and was born in the Bronx). So much so, in fact, that over the years we have often brought food back with us after visits ?back home?, meals which were literally prepared, cooked and then frozen for us at our favorite restaurants, and then quickly packed in coolers for the flights back to Utah. As you might expect, though, this worked better for certain items - mostly the simpler ones, such as bagels, Chinese food and especially, the pizza, as well as many of the cooking oils, various cheeses and other ingredients that my wife had learned to cook with, and which seemed relatively unavailable here (at least locally) - than it did for others - such as most prepared meals and assorted pastries (especially cannolis!), etc., etc... But it was always worth a try, as far as we were concerned. \r I now work in Logan and had previously driven past Le Nonne nearly every day for almost three years without ever giving the cozy little place a try (due mostly to foolish cynicism and ?snobbish? skepticism, fueled by previous and ongoing ?post-NY? culinary disappointments), when finally, a colleague took a client there for a meal on a whim a few months ago. Before they left for their lunch meeting, my co-worker asked me if I wanted him to bring anything back for me, I said ?Sure, surprise me...? And was I ever! When he returned to the office, he had an order of Chef Micheli?s ?Ravioli Di Granchio? (stuffed with ricotta and crabmeat, in a light crème sauce, for the uninitiated) in tow, a dish which is not even on their lunch menu, yet it was still graciously prepared at his request (because he was so sure that it would be great and that I would love it, and how right he was, of course)! It was fantastic, a veritable treat for the senses (especially the taste buds, of course)! I could not wait to tell my wife about this great (albeit extremely belated) ?discovery? of ours! \r Needless to say, we are not only eternally grateful to my friend, but we have been ?regulars? at Pier and Stephanie?s place, where we have been treated like lifelong customers and friends by them and the entire staff ever since! And to be honest, it seems to us that everyone is treated the same way. We certainly do not ask for any kind of special treatment, but leave feeling as though we were so honored each and every time; completely satisfied in every way. They have yet to disappoint us and likely never will. Our only regret is that we (stubbornly) wasted 3 years before we sampled their impeccable menu! \r P.S. ? And to anyone who has had a bad enough experience there to have posted a negative review of any kind: Please give them another try, we?d truly be amazed if you were again unhappy a second time. And if anyone were to somehow remain truly unsatisfied, well, then? ?...Neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet...? is the Biblical quote which we would humbly offer to all at Le Nonne in response to this supposed proclaimed disappointment! Pros: Everything! Cons: Minor: Not open for lunch on some days & closed on Sunday. more

The food here is simple genius 4/28/2009

This is sincerely the best restaurant. The owners recognize you and are always happy to see you. The food is genius and out of this world, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is just perfect. It's a special treat to eat on the patio in the spring and summer. Utter romance! Always try the special and prepare to roll your eyes a lot. The food is that good! If you haven't been here yet, you are doing yourself a great disservice. You need to start treating yourself better. So what are you waiting for? Go already! Pros: The owners, the food, the atmosphere, everything! Cons: I don't get to eat here as often as I desire more

Excellent Italian Food! 2/8/2008

This is a great little quaint restaurant located just north of the tabernacle. It has excellent food to rival any 4 star restaurant we have eaten in. Last night we took some friends there for the first time. We all had amazingly wonderful dinners. My husband had the Ahi tuna and it was excellent. We have eaten there in the summer often when you can dine on the patio and enjoy live music. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quiet dinner, excellent food and wonderful service! Pros: Good service, good food. Cons: Parking is a bit limited but not too bad. A little pricey, but appropriate for the quality. more

Quite possibly, one of the top ten meals of my life. 1/29/2008

So, after reading the other reviews, I had to see for myself. First off, every meal is served with cibatta and a very tasty olive tapenade. I started my meal with the bruschetta, which was fantastic, especially for January. Next, I had the spinach ravioli. These were nothing like the ravioli you're used to. Paper thin pasta squares filled with spinach and ricotta then folded over into a triagle of deliciousness, then topped with a garlic and sage butter sauce. FInally, after a meal that fantastic, I had to try the tiramiusu. Now, I've had this dessert many, many times, and have been disappointed by more of them, but not this one. This was perfection, along with everything else. This was a meal so good, you didn't want to eat every bite for two reasons: 1. Being too full would ruin the awesomeness of it & 2. Then you wouldn't have any left overs to enjoy tomorrow. Pros: Great service, food, and atmosphere. Seriously, they were so good, I never got to the bottom of my water glass. Cons: Can't think of one. It's definately a splurge, but a worthwhile one that I would not pass up because of cost. If you must, share your dinner or just have an appetizer. more

NOT another Knock-off Italian place, this is the real deal! 8/27/2007

This Italian restraunt was quiet and comfortable. The atmosphere was and would be perfect for a lunch with friends or a romantic evening. Service was prompt and curteous and they continued to meet our needs without seeming overbearing. The food was VERY good and although the plates didn't seem full there was plenty of food and we ended up taking home left overs. I would highly recommend stopping by and eating here. It was authentic and I didn't feel as though I was eating at another knock-off italian restraunt. I felt like the chef knew what he was making and tried to bring a piece of Italy to this small community. more

Magnificent Italian 10/4/2005

Great service, intimate and comfortable, and the food is absolutely magnificent! I dared to try the tuna and to my astonishment it was cooked perfectly (rare). Most local chefs haven't a clue what to do with a tuna steak. The chef is a master of this marvelous cuisine and the weekend entertainment by a couple of young local jazz musicians!? elevates the experience to an almost surreal level... Am I really in Logan Utah? Pros: Great food, Excellent Service, Great food!! more

A perfect experience from start to finish. 3/26/2005

I rarely have been to a restaurant that was wonderful from the moment I got there. The locals were greeted by name (which was the first sign that this place could be good.) We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. The service was gracious. Our appetizer was the bruschetta - the tomatoes were amazing especially in March. Appetizers are big enough for 2-4 people. The ravioli is homade. The gorgonzola sauce on the gnocchi actually had a bite to it. The creme brulee and the profiteroles were divine. We were told that the menu would go through a change in the next month. I plan to drive all the way from SLC just to eat here again. I can't wait to see what Le Nonne will do next. What a find! Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

Most Romantic 12/30/2004

This place is the most romantic place in Logan. The food and service is also impeccable. The cook is very gracious about cooking food to order. The menu is outstanding and has a little bit of everything. Make sure to order appetizers and desserts as the chef comes up with outrageous beginnings and endings. Wine service is great. Pros: Best food in Logan, Most romantic-Logan, Great service more

Best Italian Food in Utah 3/11/2004

This restaurant is a resurrection of a restaurant in Holladay called Il Capriccio. It has without question the best Italian food in the state. We drive from Salt Lake al of the time just to get a taste of the gnocchi and the pennette arrabiata. Go there. You will love it. Pros: Food, Service, Intimate Cons: , (but worth it) more
