The worst! 8/9/2008

It was the absolute worst, expensive dinner I have had in a long time! The waiter was condescending and just plain rude, the food horrible and overpriced and when we said something when we left they laughed and said our next trip there would better...Ha! Like there will be a next time! Pros: Beautiful view Cons: EVERYTHING else.....terrible! more

Best view in Pittsburgh 3/20/2008

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I are from out of town. We first visited the LeMont on our honeymoon. Every year when we come to Pittsburgh for a Pens game, we go to the LeMont. The service is excellent. The view is breathtaking. The decor is very elegant. A very romantic fine dining establishment for dinner for 2 and a quiet night out and and excuse to dress up. The staff goes out of their way to make your experience a pleasant one and will cater to your every need. To top it off, the food is wonderful. My husband's steaks are always cooked to perfection and the seafood and chicken dishes (the sauces are divine) are also very pleasing to the palate. Food portions are good. Asparagus and other vegetables are perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this establishment. Your best bet to beat the crowds would be to go in the middle of the week (except valentine's, etc). Be prepared to annie up on the cash, but you will not regret the experience. Pros: the view, the atmosphere, the food, the service Cons: the parking, the price more

Nice place to eat 3/18/2008

I was there with my husband few days ago and spent a great time. We both had roasted raspberry duck and both tasted a little different. Since we were seated not as close to the window as at Isabela on Grandview we were missing the view, but the rest was acceptable. I can't compare the quality of food with seven course menu in Isabela, but it was still o.k. We were treated very nice and had few glasses of wine that was just great. We may come back again. Pros: Sevice was very good Cons: Too crowdy, slow parking more

Best View, Worst Service 2/16/2008

Yes, the view is beautiful, but the service was so bad we had to laugh. We had to ask for a wine menu, a ""hurried"" waiter asked us after sitting for 15 minutes if anyone told us the specials. The answer was no. As another reviewer stated, the mashed potatoes ARE from a can! Any restaurant that hands me a a bill for $180 for 2 with tip, and serves canned mashed potatoes should be embarrassed. The food came out ""almost warm"", the sea bass was a mushy sponge, the crab cakes were good, but I can't get past the bad service, lack of food presentation and fake potatoes. Our dessert from ""the cart"" that rides around the dining room all night was tossed on our table, again no presentation. Pros: View Cons: Everything Else, It is a caricature of Fine Dining more

Best View In Town 1/22/2008

I just had LeMont for the first time and it proved to be a really good time. The food was delicious and they even cooked my steak right in front of me. It was also entertaining for the kids to see the fire in the pan while they cooked my bananas foster. I will defiantly eat at LeMont more often. Pros: Tableside Cooking Cons: A little pricey more

Amazing View, Great Customer Service, Wonderful Food 1/22/2008

If fine cuisine, a breath-taking view of the city, and entertainment seems like a good time to you; then Le Mont restaurant IS THE PLACE TO BE! With one of the best wine selections and table side cooking, Le Mont is a great place to go out and eat. I have been eating at Le Mont for years, and once again, this luxurious restaurant has left me feeling nothing short of satisfied. Pros: View, Food, and Speedy Service more

Beautiful with Great Service! 1/19/2008

I took my parents there for their anniversary and they did a wonderful job! We were seated by the window and the view is amazing. The servers made us feel welcome and were very attentive without being overbearing. The food was wonderful and timely served. It is well worth the money. Pros: Great Service Cons: ????? more

Continue to disappoint 1/4/2008

We have been to the Le Mont a number of times (it was where we had our wedding reception years ago) and we kept on hoping that the food would get better. Once again, it disappointed.. We had a business dinner recently and the wine list was not up to date (we ordered the wines and after 20 minutes, the steward came back and said they were out of them...), they were out of the simplest food (a Cabernet steak). Once the foods came, they were second rate at best. The Chilean seabass was completely poorly cooked (spongy and no taste), my wife's filet mignon - despite ordered medium rare - was literally burnt... more

Go there, take a picture, leave and eat somewhere else 9/29/2007

Never have I seen such a beautiful restaurant with such BAD food. The potatoes tasted as if they were instant... either that or the ""chef"" doesn't know what salt, pepper, or butter is. The duck.... was lame. Ossa bucco rosoto was again bland with no hint of any type of flavor. I also had the arugula salad with pecans... the dressing reminded me of wet sneaker water. What is going on here? If there was a decent chef in that kitchen the place would be packed every night. I've never seen prices like that for food that wasn't even good enough to get a sub-par rating. I'm just astonished by the lack of creativity and taste that the whole menu has. It's the biggest joke in Pittsburgh. If your looking to sell the restaurant, call me, I will buy it in a second then get a real chef in there and give people a real meal for their buck. Oh, and lastly, dessert carts are fine, but don't freaking serve the deserts off the cart!!! It should be for show only!!! Who the hell wants a dessert that has made its way around a restaurant all night... landed on by flys, pushed through the occasional sneeze or cough, not refrigerated for 3-5 hours.... mmmmmm, I'll have the carrot cake that the old guy sneezed on. Thanks for dinner but you can have it back.... BLAAAGGGHHHHHH. Pros: Ambience Cons: Everything else more

Terrible food... 2/22/2007

I can't believe this place stays in business. We've dined there several times and each time we had gone back we'd hoped to experience a better meal. Never happened. The food is marginal at best and the service is about the same. If you go there expecting a true fine dining experience, you will be disappointed. The only decent feature is the view but one can get the same view from any other restaurant in Mt. Washington. I wouldn't waste my money in this place again. Pros: View Cons: Quality of food. Service. Overpriced for barely average food. more
