First, let me say that this was some of the best sushi I have had in town. The La Hana roll is to die for! That alone is the reason I'm considering going back. The Tokyo Ice Tea d...

Best Restaurant EVER 3/12/2007

My husband and I just love this restaurant, and it's about time Hillsboro came out with a place like this. We are such foodies that when Le Hana came to town, we were more than ready to embrace its French Fusion Sushi style! The food is excellent- we have been there now 3 times, and usually when it comes to eating out, if I like what I've ordered on the first visit, I stay with that menu item on subsequent visits. But each visiting Le Hana, I have been adventureous and tried a new appetizer (my fave is the watermelon salmon? soup, and my husband enjoys the kobe beef salad) and any of the sushi rolls are to die for- their namesake roll is especially good, as is the Passion Fiore which has cut out slices of ginger in the shape of flowers placed of on top of the sushi. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The service is good, the presentation is amazing down to the plates that the food is served on, as is the decor and ambience. Great place, pretty inexpensive, and we never have to wait to be seated! Way to go, guys. Keep up the great work. We're certainly impressed. :D more

They care about the food and it shows 3/5/2007

We had a family dinner for five at Le Hana a week ago. The sushi was very fresh-tasting and good. They really try hard with the service and the food presentation here. They have obviously spent a lot of money creating ambience - it sure feels more like a restaurant you would find in the Pearl District, Seatlle, or San Francisco than they typical chain restaurant that we get on the far westside of Portland. Prices seemed reasonable for this kind of restaurant, but it's not a place you'd go for bargain food.\r \r One of my sons ordered a chicken dish. When the waiter brought it out with the rest of the food, she apologized profusely about how the chicken was over-done, and that they would be bringing him another serving that was done correctly. Being a teenager, he scarfed the entire first serving, and then ate the entire second serving. He agreed that the second dinner was better. Afterward, the chef came out and spoke to him. I was really impressed by that.\r \r I brought a bottle of wine from home for this dinner. They charged a $10 corkage fee, which was fine with me. The waiter was a litle flummoxed by how to handle this, but in the end it was fine. Why don't more people bring their own wine to restaurants here? I started doing it after spending some time in Australia, where the practice is pretty common. It's not about being cheap (although it is about value). Come on Porltand diners - back me up on this!!\r \r Bottom line, we'll return to Le Hana soon. Pros: great sushi, great ambience particularly for the location, they care about the food more

Not traditional, but it's well worth it 2/19/2007

This restaurant is something that cannot be found in HIllsboro. There is a type of elegance with the atmoshere and presentation of the food. The waitress was friendly, very entertaining she tried to make my night very special. I had the Lamb, so much flavor cooked just right. The appetizers was very reasonable and tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. \r Pros: Service, service, service, food, food, food. more

Hip Restaurant 2/3/2007

I took my girlfriend to Le Hana last Saturday for her birthday. Let me start with the two most important areas: Food and Service. The food was great with very unique tastes. We ordered a number of dishes, which kept coming one after the other in great order and timing, and I have to say that each one of them was magnificent. They had so many interesting appetizers such as See Sails and Monk fish river pate, so I had to order several of them. In addition, service was impeccable! Our waitress kept around the table in a very discreet manner to see when we would finish the dishes on the table so that she can place the order for the next ones! As I said before, we ordered a number of dishes, which at some point towards the end, we started feeling full. As soon as the waitress noticed that we slowed down, she asked if everything was okay; once we told her that we were getting full, but we still wanted to try the sushi at the end, she said that she wouldn't placed the order in for the last of the dishes we had ordered and asked us if we wanted to move straight to the sushi. Let me tell you, I have been to some of the best restaurants in a number of cities, and nothing like this has ever happened before. It was truly as if we had our own personal waitress and cook for that matter. The ambience and atmosphere is very nice and unique. Very hip, stylish, hot! Deserts were amazing, and they did not forget the little candle and wish for my girlfriend. The Drinks were out of this world! Overall, a great dining experience!!! It's worth a visit. Pros: Style, Food Cons: crowded more

Amazing Restaurant!! 2/3/2007

My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience here. We ordered the sushi combination & sea bass and were truly fabulous! The fish was very fresh and uniquely prepared. The sushi rice was a little hard but still wonderful. Service and ambiance was great. Total guest check was $20 per person including sake cocktails. It was well worth to drive down to Hillsboro. I'm glad Oregon has such a classy sushi restaurant. Highly recommend!! Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere more
