Wonderful service 10/13/2007

I can't disagree with you more. Of the three vets there, I particularly favor one...but she's part time, so on occasion I've had to see the other ones as well. All are awesome and have treated me and my dog with consideration and care. We switched from another local practice that had tremendous change over of vets and I could never see the same one twice. \r \r The front office staff of LaVista is wonderful as well. My dog is older and has had some bizarre occurances recently (copperhead bit among them) and the office staff has been considerate and very very caring. more

Nice to dogs but mean to people 9/18/2007

Bad news .. I think they medically treated my dogs adequately but the doctor is mean and that filters down to the front desk ... won't make eye contact, ignores that you spoke or asked a question, 3-4 pets? Forget an appointment for all on the same day.. they will not do it! You have to come in day-after-day-after-day-after-day .. and if you ask for better consideration, the doctor will get on the phone and yell at you and over-talk you .. the front desk does the same kind of stuff.. no eye contact.. Repeatedly, when checking out, won't tell you your business is complete, while you wait a very long time, then look up and coldly tell you it is finished. This happened several times and I finally realized it was deliberate.\r \r I am in my 60s and expected a warm and caring experience and was ready to give the same in return. These people were a shock to me. They don't like people. more

Very rude and entirely self-absorbed ... same for his staff who promote the same attitude at the front desk. Forget customer service.. you are expected to jump through hoops for them... talked down to, comments or thoughts go unanswered by this doctor, doctor acts as if he doesn't even hear you speak ... talks ""past you"" to others, doesn't even acknowledge your presence by looking at you .. 3 animals? more? forget it! Customer has to come in day after day after day ... absolutely will not! let you schedule more than one pet per day ... get past that restriction? Lucky you! But you get a bill for services in your mailbox prior to your scheduled appointment... I was told off and yelled at by the doctor because I wanted to bring my 3 pets together on one day.. Pros: I'm sure his medical care is up to medical standards and expectations... Cons: angry doctor who doesn't like people and will yell at you and tell you off.... more

Among the worst ... real-l-y negative 9/17/2007

First of all, I'm in my 60s, no youngster... Cold, passive aggressive ""front"" help, really mean veterinarian who does not like people ... I was very nice and ready to like these people from day one but they always behaved as if I were the dumbest most unacceptable person. This is just one example, like before the nasty vet himself acted out ... the front help acts like they don't like to answer your questions... won't make eye contact... answers you with head down... and when they finish they won't let you know your business is concluded. Time after time after time I was left standing at the desk for a very long time thinking they were looking up records or something ... they leave you waiting long enough to appear completely foolish ... then inform you with a look and a voice as if you're not quite bright that your business is concluded. And that vet whose name I don't remember is a very angry person who does not like or trust the people who come to him for services... Bizarre is a word that applies to these people.. over-the-top in a very negative way... Pros: my dogs received adequate medical care Cons: overboard with being cold and nasty to people more
