Laura Lee Salon

I'm picky and critical. Really picky and critical. And so is my hair. \r \r Since I wanted short hair, I searched on-line for hours to find a stylist reputed for doing good work with short hair. I took a chance and called Laura Lee to get an appt with Leah. \r \r Among the five Aveda salons I've tried in the greater Cleveland area, Leah is the best short hair dresser by far. I just came home from my 7th haircut and am appreciating the fact that she continues to work hard at giving me a good cut every single time. Today, with the short hair I had, she really went *into* the hair and cut it in all ways in order for it to lay just right on my head (with unforgiving hairlines, no less). She never takes the easy way out, never assumes that she can get away with a simple touch-up. It's always a real, thorough, and stylish cut. Good technique combined with a real eye for the right style for the right face. \r \r And today, I was really strung out. The hand massage from one of the other women really finished off the experience with just the right touch.\r \r Again, I'm critical.... and I enjoy the wonderful combination of friendliness and professionalism at Laura Lee. I'm not one to write reviews and am typically shy, which is why ive used a false name! But I have really enjoyed my experience as of late. Ive been a long time client of Laura lee salon, because Lee is a very nice guy (the owner) and its overall a nice atmosphere. I do not want to talk down on anyone, because that's not the point here, because all the stylists I feel are exceptional. However, I came in on the fly one day and had to go to a new stylist, her name was Sarah. She was, amazing.. Not only did she spend 15 min or so longer than im usually given, instead of feeling somewhat rushed out of the chair (which is really really nice considering the prices you pay at a nice salon) But when given the extra time for consultation, I felt more comfortable expressing exactly what I wanted, and anything I wanted changed after the cut. Which was not only nice because I have felt great recently at the compliments Ive been given on my new cut! But, I sometimes get home from not only here, but other salons as well, feeling somewhat apprehensive about my hair, and wanting to call in to have something fixed.. Which I never would, I would be too nervous... lol. But with Sarah Ive never wanted to change anything, and that's all i really wanted to stress, was that I feel like im getting more for my money when I get a little more attention/time in the chair, and that im always happy when I get home!! please don't misinterpret me, I truly love all the girls and the service at the salon!! I don't mean to single out just Sarah there all amazing! =) But ladies, check out Laura Lee soon! you'll love the atmosphere, the friendliness, and there's a few pretty cool shops in the area too. more

After the Salon I had been going to for twenty years closed down, I found myself -- a 30-year-old man -- without a hair stylist. Laura Lee was conveniently located for me, and a friend of a friend recommended it. I decided to give it a shot, called them up, and was randomly assigned Sarah for a haircut. It was the best thing I could have ever done. Unlike my previous salon experience, Laura Lee provides much more than a haircut. From the fantastic scalp massage that Sarah provides with her firm yet slightly sensual touch, to the best styled haircut I've ever received, to Emily's inviting brown eyes and thorough hand massages, Laura Lee is an experience to look forward to, not another errand to get out of the way. Being an Aveda Salon and with all the extra pampering, I was very worried that I was going to leave there with a $100 bill. On the contrary, they are very reasonably priced -- a tremendous value. Even though my previous stylist is now working at a competing Salon, I continue to go to Laura Lee. I highly recommend Laura Lee Salon, and specifically Sarah. more

I think people can be a little crazy when it comes to there hair. But each time I walk through the door to Lee's, I know that when I leave I'm going to feel like a million bucks. The music, the conversation, the added facial, the occasional glass of wine...this expert service can't be topped. And Heidi...is the best. I trust Heidi. She truly knows her craft. I can't say enough about Laura Lee's and the people who work there. I always look forward to my next appointment because now, Heidi and I are friends. How many people can say that about the person who cuts their hair? more

I have been going to Laura Lee for at least 6 years, maybe more. Sonja is wonderful and I always look forward to going there, giggling with her, and walking out feeling and looking beautiful. I have been an Aveda Fan for a long time and will use nothing but their color on my hair. Sonja always takes the time to make me feel special and I know that my hair is getting some great treatment. The salon itself is clean, cozy, and all of the staff are very friendly. There is a reason that I have never gone anywhere else since discovering Laura Lee. Alot of that has to do with Sonja, but the salon is certainly my favorite in town! more

I've been going to Lara Lee Salon for more years than I care to admit and yes a few times I've gone to other salons but I always come back to Lara Lee. Its like going to see a friend who knows how to ""do"" great hair. The entire staff is genuinely friendly and sincere in their desire to please their customer. The salon is always filled with fun interesting people . I constantly get compliments on my hair even when I'm due for a cut and color. Lara,Lee,Sonya,and Heidi are especially wonderful. I simply can not say enough wonderful things about this salon. more

I've been getting my hair cut at Laura Lee Salon for several years -- 4 with my current stylist. I always get a super cute, modern, easy-to-work-with cut and style... even when I just tell her to ""do whatever you want"" They stock Aveda products and my stylist recommends just the perfect stuff to make my style work. Plus, you can't beat the pampering... start with a scalp massage, then part way through another staffer offers a hand massage and at the end, your stylist will touch up your make-up. She always makes me feel pretty! The staff is friendly, fun and casual. more

I started going to Laura Lee Salon a few years ago on the recommendation of a friend. I wanted a stylist who could cut my curly hair short, but work with the curl so I could wear it naturally. I've been happy ever since, and with 2 different stylists. And not only do you get a great haircut, but you get pampered!! Hand massages, head massages, and before you leave, they'll even give you a quick makeup touch-up. I love the Aveda products they use, and so the whole experience is first-rate. And best of all, it's not such a foo-foo place, that it feels fake. It's very down-to-earth and relaxing. Highly recommended without reservation! more

Laura Lee Salon is the greatest. I've been going their for several years and every time I go I feel so special. Everyone is anxious to make you feel welcome.If I am having a bad day when I go there, I leave renewed and feeling great. Sarah and Sonjie are my technicians and I have never had better manicures and haircuts. They are the best. I would recommend this salon to anyone. Everyone there is very professional and personable at the same time. I love going here and will never look for another salon. My hair has never looked or felt better and I love the ""purple nails"". more

Laura Lee is a gem of a salon. I've been getting my hair cut there (by Leah - she's amazing!) for four years and have always been happy with the experience. I love the Aveda products and my hair has never looked better - their highlights are the best I've ever had. The stylists are friendly and very good at their craft - I've had nothing but great haircuts. Leah has gotten to be such a friend that she did my wedding - and my hair looked AWESOME. I don't know what the previous reviewers experiences were (or how many), but I've never had a single session that was nothing short of professional and friendly...thanks, crew at Laura Lee! more

I have been to Laura Lee Salon twice and got a good cut both times; however the stylist that cut my hair on both occasions had a very negative, immature attitude. She barely spoke to me except to ask what I wanted done to my hair. The rest of the time she spoke to the stylist next to her, mainly discussing her drunken capers and making sarcastic comments. Both instances were so awkward all I could think about is how much I wanted to get out of the salon. Because I like the cut I received, and the salon is in a convenient location, I'm going back again but will try a different stylist. However, if this appointment doesn't go well, it will be my last visit. more

I have been going to the Laura Lee Salon in Coventry for over 6 years now. They have become like family to me, my husband, both of my daughters and my son-in-law. They handled my daughters wedding this past summer and were fabulous. I have never enjoyed a salon experience as much as I do at Laura Lee's. Okay, so it isn't the most macho thing for a guy to have a great experience at the salon, but with my wedding upcoming, I decided it's time for someone other than Phil down at the local shop to cut my hair. I will be a regular customer at this place, however. Everyone was very friendly and unpretentious. A bit of scalp and neck massage, a great haircut, hair washed twice (so you don't get hair all down the back of your neck), and a hot towel on your face. Hell, who wouldn't enjoy that? If you dig comfort and can stand the ribbing that you might take at the office, gym, barracks or whatever, you should check this place out. I once paid $75 for a haircut in DC, for which I received a cup of tea, and a ""haircut"" by a snobby, heroin-chic stylist that looked like she used garden shears. Here I got a haircut that was exactly what I wanted and all the extras mentioned above for half that. more

Although this salon exhibits an intimate atmosphere and alluring interior, the service here was absolutely awful. The highlight of my experience was the five minute hand massage I received while the stylist was ravaged my hair. My hair came out damaged and sadly nothing like the picture I brought with me for the stylist to work from. To top off this disappointment I was charged 174 dollars for my highlights upon leaving the salon when they had clearly stated that a highlight would only be 90 when I called and asked the price beforehand. They claimed that I had a ""special"" highlight, hence the hundred dollar price hike. Terrible service, unrewarding results, damaged hair, and 200 dollars lost in all.....
