I've already recommended Laughlin Kennel to plenty of other people. We were looking on the internet for somewhere that bred Puggles and found them. We also adopted a chocolate l...

I bought a Yorkie and found out later she had parvovirus. I had to bring her back, though she was soooo cute it broke my heart. I don't wish this on anybody. I wish I had been ...

Fishy 10/25/2008

I have been there a few times. Both times i was not aloud to see where they kenneled the puppies. If i am buying a pup i would like to see the conditions they are staying in. But no go. And when i went i asked to see the same puppy if it was still there. They said it was but they brought me a diff one. Insisting it was the same one. it was'it!!! keep an eye out for these guys. more

bad place to shop for a pet 10/25/2008

The sales people are mean. I overheard some girl arguing with a customer over the phone while I was there about some kind of contractual thing. When we asked to see the puppies they asked us which one. They wanted us to choose from pictures on their website... they would not let us see the actual dogs without picking one so they could hide where the pups were kept. A little fishy. After talking with a few local vets in oxford I'm glad we walked away from this one. more

Laughlin Kennel 10/24/2008

Heard the staff working with another customer, great job. Very patient and knowledgeable, went over their contract and health guarantee step by step. No pushy sales people, they wait until the customer is ready. Great job more

not a good time 10/24/2008

I just came back from Iraq and my girlfriend bought me a Pug as a surprise. I was held over an extra day and in that time the dog took a turn for the worse and had to be put down. Needless to say it wasn't a very nice surprise. She's still waiting to get her money back. A very unconcerned office worker told her it wouldn't be until next week at least if at all. more

I will buy there agin 10/24/2008

My family went to Laughlin kennel in Oxford Ma on Saturday November 10th to look at puppies. I am very proud to say we bought a beautiful little mixed breed girl and we love her. We thought about having a pup shipped in from out of state, but even the best of them require that you pay the shipping if there is something wrong with a pup and you have to ship it back, which just seems awful to me in the first place. One I saw wouldn't do anything unless the puppy died! So we bought a pup bred in Missouri from a local place. It seemed like the better choice and we're glad we did. Pros: Have a wide selection, polite and helpful staff more

Highly Recommended!! 10/24/2008

My family bought a puppy at Laughlin Kennel in Oxford Ma. She is healthy and smart. The office Staff really know what they are talking about. They were helpful and spent a lot of time answering our questions. It is clear they care about the people who buy the pups as well as the pups. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a pup Pros: Lots of pups to pick from more

My Yorkie is gone 10/24/2008

I had to give her back.... it was so sad. I wish we could keep her, but she's going to cost a lot of money to fix. I just hope whoever buys her gets told whats happening to her. I know they didn't tell me. more

Wonderful 10/24/2008

Laughlin Kennel in Oxford - I've lived in Oxford for over 9 years. In this time, I have had many friends purchase puppies from Laughlin kennel. Due to my constant nagging and pleading to my husband (my hard work paid off!), I've recently have been blessed with the opportunity to search for a puppy of my own. Like many people, I too have heard horror stories of ""puppy mills"" and mistreatment of animals. I am not the type of person who would even dare walk into a kennel without doing extensive research. I find it funny how many people go looking for a problem after the fact, to me that is just silly. I would go as bold to say ignorant and nonsensical. Why look in the first place? Because you had a bad experience? Right off the back your research is tainted with words driven from your own biases.. Sorry, a pet peeve of mine. Mostly, I am writing this review because I now know not only from my prior research but also my own personal experience that Laughlin Kennel is a wonderful place to purchase a puppy - if you can not adopt your desired breed from a shelter. My yorkie is the gem I've always wanted. My husband has grown quite attached too, despite his hardest efforts. The place was clean. The staff was very helpful and precise in their instructions for handling my knew family addition. I highly recommend this kennel. After more then a decade of good reviews from people inside the community, I feel this business is safely coined as a proper place to purchase a puppy in New England. However, I would void the place on weekends. It is often very busy and difficult to see the puppies one-on-one. Cons: busy on weekends more

WARNING PARVO 10/24/2008

Parvo consumes your dog from the inside out... while it is still alive!!! It is also highly contagious. Many dogs come from here with it infected in them. My vet shook his head at me when I told him where I got her. Be aware. more

I keep an eye on Laughlin Kennel! 10/24/2008

I've never bought a puppy there, but I drop by somtimes to visit the cuties and see how things are going. I also love to look at their website. I like to keep an eye on all cute puppies. Whenever I visit the staff is proffessional and kind and puppies are clean and well cared for. I'm just writing to say thank you laughlin kennel, and I'll keep an eye on your website! more

Laughlin is the worst 10/24/2008

Horrible conditions, sickly animals, no on site breeding thought they claim to be breeders... this place reaks of horrible potential. Try pikapup instead. more

Thanks Laughlin Kennel 10/24/2008

I actually did get a puppy from Laughlin kennel. She is absolutely beautiful, people stop me when I am walking her just to tell me so. The puppy I took home is a yorkie, and my kids and I named her Ella. Laughlin kennel was very helpful, and truthful. I was informed Ella's past health issue. She had a cold before. The young man working there basically said, ""that this is a kennel, and that all these puppies are at some risk of getting cold much like a child in school or daycare. This made me a little nervous at first, but then I read their contract. They have a 14 day health guarantee that would allow me to return the dog for any health issue with a written vet statement. This agreement seemed completely reasonable to me. I could take the puppy to my vet, and if she found anything wrong with the puppy, I could just bring her back. Besides, the puppy seem perfectly healthy to me. I did, however, believe the puppy needed a bath, but so did the kennel because they strongly suggested she get one before we took Ella home. Upon my visit to the vet, she found Ella to be completely healthy! So, for my visit to Laughlin k, I received a clean healthy puppy that my family truly loves. I have personal statement to those of you posting about how you love your puppy, but Laughlin k. is a ""bad place"". I found it to be as clean as I would think a kennel would be. I saw that the kennel is regulated by the state, and has been in business for 15 yrs +. I am telling you that I think it is ok that you got a beautiful puppy from Laughlin kennel. Thanks Laughlin From Ella and fam Pros: honesty, helpful, good gaurantee more

Scary 10/24/2008

I bought a Yorkie and found out later she had parvovirus. I had to bring her back, though she was soooo cute it broke my heart. I don't wish this on anybody. I wish I had been more thoughtful in my choice but now i know. Cons: infinite sadness more

I heard but I didn't believe 10/24/2008

I didn't think it was as bad as it sounded, but now I think of all the poor little dogs still locked up there and want to cry. Cons: Congenital defects more

This place is the worst 10/24/2008

My niece bought a schnoodle pup there for about $1K. The dog had luxating (sp) patellas ( a problem with the knees that is inherited from the parents) that would require surgery to repair. The dog also had kennel cough. They did not even treat the other dogs that this dog was in the pen with once they found out about the kennel cough.\r They took a very long time to return her money, she actually ended up having to dispute the charge with her credit card company for them to do anything & they already had the pup back!! more

It's not hard to find a puppy Laughlin's got them! 10/24/2008

My family went to Laughlin Kennel because we were looking for a pup. We looked all over! We started with rescues and shelters but they didn't have much and what they had was just not what we wanted. The shelters were hard to deal with. It cost about the same to buy a new pup! We found Laughlin on the web. They have such a beautiful web site! You can see all the dogs on the web and shop all you want! We even printed out pictures of the pups we were interested in. When we got there they brought them all to us! We were helped by a man named Chris and a man named James they were so helpful. They warned us before we came that it could be busy on the weekend and it was. We bought two tiny little Puggles. We had to wait and take our turn when we bought them but we had to wait at the vet too! I would highly recommend Laughlin. My family is so happy with our new family members! We took both the girls to the vet and both were wonderful! Beautiful and healthy!!!! No problems. The dogs were clean the place was clean. My family had a wonderful experience. We will go back and I will tell all my friends to go there when they a pup. more

bad place 10/24/2008

Don't go here just because it's the only place you can find online with photographs. The photos are a ploy to make you fall in love with sick dogs. I love our little guy but he has so many health problems I can't believe nobody at Laughlin is as heartbroken as me and my six year old daughter are. Cons: how will you explain it to your kids more

Muhamad!! 10/24/2008

Muhamid picks his nose\r and pulls himself off\r and I like to draw pictures of him doing so. More or less I like say things like Alah bless me! when i'm thinking about man on man action with muhamad, who would look alot like screech from saved by the bell. Pros: MAN ON MAN! Cons: I'm so gay more

hip problems 10/24/2008

\r I bought a Golden Retriever puppy from them, and he had SEVERE HIP DYSPLASIA. THey did refund my money, but it was an empty act since his operations cost far more. This was not simply a chance event, either. My dog's mother was breed by a man named Ed Van Doorn in Iowa. This is where Laughlin gets many of the puppies. He does NOT SCREEN his animals for hip dysplasia. I asked Laughlin for his mother's health records. NONE. THey were extremely mean, rude and UNCARING about the puppies with sicknesses that they sell and irresponsibly buy and broker from other puppy mills more

wow 10/24/2008

This place sure gets a lot of reviews every day... holy cow they must sell a million dogs a week!!!!!!!!!! Sweet. Sign me up puppy millers!!! Pros: none Cons: all of them more
