Professional and Courteous Staff 9/26/2011

Employed as an information technology consultant to an East Coast Auto Dealership (of which they hold a franchise for Hyundai), I have been privy to the service delivery of a dealership and have personally witnessed what could go wrong in a service department. Needless to say, I was leery of having to deal with Southwest Hyundai. It wasn’t until the vehicle was returned that I realized just how much different the experience at Southwest Hyundai was from any other Hyundai dealership I have ever encountered. I am proud to say that Larry H. Miller’s Southwest Hyundai is a class act, and if I lived in Albuquerque, it would be my preferred dealership to do business with. I would personally like to commend the Service Writer (whom I believe was Jacob Hensley) for his professionalism and attention to the special needs in providing a loaner car. more

Best Place to Buy A Car 9/26/2011

I had the best experience buying my new car from SW Hyundai. The car salesman made me feel completely comfortable and made the process so easy. Not only that but the cars are fantastic! I bought an Elantra and couldn't be happier! I got a great deal and definitely would by my next car from SW Hyundai, as a matter of fact I will be recommending SW Hyundai to anyone looking into buying a car! So Happy! more

I helped my daughter buy a car at Southwest Hyundai. Everybody was very nice from the lady at the front desk to our salesman. She is very happy with the car and it runs good and she likes that it looks really nice too. We have had it about a month or two and the only problem was she ran into a curb and made the front tire low. We took it to the service department at Southwest Hyundai and they put air in the tire and checked it out and didn't charge her. We were happy about that and we will difinitely buy our next car from Southwest Hyundai. more

Service department is horrible! 4/11/2011

A 30 minute job took 4 days and when we got our vehicle home, bolts were missing from the engine compartment! We called several times to complain, were told someone would get back to us, but they never did. We were a Hyundai family, but this ended it for us. We were treated horribly and we had to order and replace the bolts ourselves. Will never return to this dealer. When they sold the car to us in 2004, it was all different. You will be treated like royalty and even when your vehicle is still under warranty, you might be ok. We were even telling our kids to buy Hyundais, but after the way we were treated, they went with the competition up the street. Very sad the way things have changed at this dealership. more

We just purchased our second vehicle from Southwest Hyundai. Olivia responded quickly to emails, Dre was our salesman and was extremely knowledgable, freindly and personable. I surprised myself by actually enjoying the process of buying a new car at Southwest Hyundai. Everyone was friendly, but not pushy or tying to sell me something I did not want, and I really appreciated that. I knew exactly what I wanted and they found it for me in no time. Alex, Frank, Cederick and Sheryl made buying a car a fun experience. I would buy another car there, for sure. more

SW Hyundai experience outstanding 11/26/2010

I do not normally go to industry web sites to give a recommendation, but my recent experience with this dealership needs to be told. I went to this dealership to refinance my 2008 Sonata as advised by my out of state bank, because they did not have a branch in my state. I discussed the terms I wanted with the bank and knew I could get my car refinanced and reduce my payments about $100/month for nearly the same loan length as when I bought my Sonata. When I arrived I was referred to Kevin, to help me. After telling me he could help me refinance with the terms I wanted, he then offered to check to see if I could get a new car for the same terms. He discovered I could get a 2011 Elantra close to the same terms or a 2011 Accent for exactly the same terms($100/mo less, $0 down). He recommended the Elantra or the Accent, instead of a Sonata, because I had mentioned that I was planned on doing more highway driving to other states and wanted to reduce expenses. Since I had put 55,000 miles on my Sonata in 2-1/2 years, I decided that a new Accent would better reduce my gas expenses and cover me with a new warranty. Kevin ran the official numbers for a new loan and it came back with the exact terms I wanted, plus the interest rate was lower than it was on my Sonata. He then was able to show me a list of vehicles I could get for the terms I wanted. I chose an Accent that I liked and we went in to finalize the deal. While the deal was being finalized and the Accent was being detailed, Kevin introduced me to the service department manager who described how to arrange for service. When that was done, Kevin offered me something to eat and drink while waiting to meet with finance person. There were several people who had just made purchases and went in to do their paperwork so I was expecting a long wait. I was surprised that my wait was less than 10 minutes. I went in and was shown all the "extras" options that were available, but only found one I wanted. The finance person called in the finance manager to authorize the extra I chose for little additional cost by reducing the price of the car. Since I went in to the dealership right before my next Sonata payment was due, which is on the 20th of the month, I was able to avoid my next Sonata payment. My first Accent payment is due a little later than my Sonata payment was in the following month. Overall, I was VERY pleased with my experience because I was not pressured to get anything I did not want. Although they could have sold me a new Sonata for about the same payments I was currently paying, they focused on selling me what I needed, not what would make them the most money. The other thing I like is that when you get in and out of the Accent, you do not feel like you are sitting in a go cart. The seats sit higher than most small cars, which gives you a good view of the road and is easier to get in and out of. I took my family on a 200 mile day trip in the mountains and we all were quite comfortable. We used less than a half of a tank of gas and the car was not even broke in yet. It seems that despite my tank being a third smaller in size than my Sonata, I am still getting about the same miles on a tank of gas. However, the amount needed to fill my tank is about $12.00 less, so overall I am going to save a lot of money. Finally, I know that often when visiting websites, it is hard to know if the person writing about their experience is real or if it is a plant from someone who works for the business. Excellent Price/Service 7/9/2010

This was the best experience i've ever had at any dealership. Other dealerships usually expect the product to choose you, but at Southwest Hyundai, I was given exactly what I wanted, test drove what I wanted, and in the end bought what I wanted (2011 Hyundai Sonata) Exceptional customer service, established contact with me the minute I submitted what I wanted online, and were definately a step above other dealerships in both their pricing and sales departments. I would highly recommend that anyone not wanting to go through the haggle and hassle consider getting their car at Southwest Hyundai. We just purchased our 2nd Hyundai from Southwest Hyundai and are extremely satisfied. The staff are all very friendly and the service is efficient so we did not have to sit around for hours and hours waiting for paperwork. We are very happy with our new Tucson and the staff are very informed on their vehicles and the know their product. We would happily refer others to Southwest. Great place to Buy 9/10/2009

They were responsive in finding the car I wanted. I wanted the Sonata limted and they were detailed and informative in going over all the options. I was encouraged to drive the car and did everything possible to make sure all my questions were answered and that I was satisfied with all the options and how the car drove. My husband went into the dealership to ask his katrillon question...then I came with him in a couple of days after we decided that we were interested in an Elantral. The sales representative, David Luchetti, answered all my husband's questions patiently. He worked with us to help us make an informed decision when we finally decided to purchase. I came in after hours, but Jason (dealer) was willing to stay with me until my questions and needs were satisfied. I felt that I did my homework beforehand and knew what I wanted. Jason understood and delivered! This is my first “new” car and I love it. With all the warranty’s and post purchase services I am sure our Hyundai will be with us for a very long time. JIM HINDERSON GREAT TO WORK WITH! 5/31/2009

I had requested through the internet MANY requests for price quotes from many dealerships (Nissan, KIA, Toyota, etc) and Jim Hinderson was the only person that took the time to follow through on my request. He contacted me by phone (which I indicated was ok) within an hour after my request to obtain more information of what I was looking for. He was very eager to help. His product knowledge was very good and he's obviously believes in his dealership and service department. My wife joking said that we need to have everything done within an hour after we made our choice of vehicle including financing. Well, they missed that time constraint by 22 minutes! I would reccommend Jim's services to anyone. Pros: good experience, friendly, easy to work with more
