Short ribs and crab cakes are to die for! 3/3/2008

I have reviewed many restaurants and can say I am very impressed with the selection and experience I had at this place. The service was great, easy enough to find parking, and we had the best food too! I highly recommend it if you are in the area! more

Can't wait to go back 2/18/2008

Yesterday was my first meal there, and I will be definitely going back soon. Great service, charming interiors, amazing variety, relaxing atmosphere - it has everything I need. I know I can bring my colleagues in for work lunches/dinners because there is something for everyone on the menu. Our waiter suggested I try the sparkling rose, and he was right. I very much enjoyed it. It's not everyday that you can find a nice sparkling rose on the menu. Pros: menu, service, quaint feel Cons: not closer to my house more

Believe the hype 2/15/2008

In need of a place to take my girlfriend for Valentines Day, I stumbled on this great place on open table. needing something, I booked it and was able to get a 930 reservation. Not the best, but considering it was this or the doghouse I booked it. I thought this place must've been decent since it was book until 930, but it also wasnt that well known, yet. I read all the reviews on here and saw how glowing each and every one was. So going into it last night I thought I had stumbled on the best kept secret in LA. Well, to be honest I did. Holy smokes. So good. The bill was high, but it was for Valentines day and I didnt mind paying every cent. The filet mignon I had was as good as you can have it and the guy that brought it out, had me cut into it to make sure that it was cooked to my liking. Who does that? I loved it. The service in general was way too good. Not a bad thing. I felt like I was coming over to a friend's house and they really cared about making sure that i had a great time. The cheesecake, was the best I've ever had. Light and fluffy. So good. To sum up, This place was insane and puts alot of places to shame. I'm going there as much as I can and hopefully they'll remember my name when i come in. hahaha Pros: Everything Cons: That it isnt closer to my house more

Best Food in LA and I am a tough critic! 2/13/2008

I am from the East Coast where the food is phenomenal. I have eaten at every top rated Zagat restaurant and this is by far the best. It looks like a little Inn that you would find in a quaint ski town. The owner, Sean, greeted me immediately and preceded to give me the history of the place while pointing out the original staircase. I started with the radicchio salad that had apples, figs and manchego cheese with a walnut vinaigrette, my friend had this massive crab cake that was incredibly tasty. I then had the rackof lamb that was served with goat cheese and mint. The meat was tender and lovely. I wasn't sure if I wanted the sides the dish came with, so I asked Sean what he would recommend. He said the brussel sprouts which I never ever eat. I listened to him, thankfully. They were amazing!!! They were crunchy and had a hint of balsamic vinegar. My friend had the beef short ribs which were fabulous, so soft and tasted like brisket. If things couldn't get better, Sean brought us over profiteroles which were a chefs special and not even on the menu. The crust was flakey and the cream was delicious. I couldn't recommend this place any more. I loved it. The best part is I no longer have to trek to Beverly Hills to get a good meal. I can stay right here in my own Larchmont neighborhood. Bon Appetit! Pros: Ambience,Great service, Incredible Food, Large Portions,Attentive Owners Cons: NONE more

Fabulous~! 11/28/2007

Tried out LG for the first time with a group of friends....LOVED IT! The food was amazing, and the service was impeccable (our server, Stephen..with a 'p-h', was great~!). Everything that they served was incredibly delicious...we were passing around bites amongst ourselves. The atmosphere is wonderful...very charming, cozy and "homey". We did actually meet one of the owners, Mark, who was very friendly and charming....a hand's-on type of owner who really cares about his customers...bravo! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, and hope others out there enjoyed it as much as I and my friends did....can't wait to go back~! :) more

Great spot! 11/24/2007

Several months ago, my hubby and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Larchmont Grill in the terrace room upstairs. The menu was perfect for all 20 of us, including a couple of picky 4-year olds! The service was awesome, and everyone took real good care of us. I'd give this spot a thumbs up for sure! more

Great Food, Great Service, Great Find! 11/10/2007

Checked out Citysearch a few days back for a place to take a group of 10 people for a good, traditional American meal. Found Larchmont Grill and liked what I read. I called and made the reservations, no problem. The day of my reservations, they called to confirm and to ask if there was any special occasion. The host was wondering because of the large group. I just said, no... my urban family is just getting together. We arrived and were seated in a great spot inside. From the moment we sat down, the service (waiter Stephen) was awesome. Great wine recommendations, specific food knowledge, and a great sense of humor. Above all, the food was the stand out. Its rare in LA when all 10 people are raving about their meal and many of us had to take doggie bags becuase there was so much of it! I cant wait to go back again. Thanks Larchmont Grill for making our Urban Family smile! Pros: Delicious Food and lots of it! Cons: Wine and Beer only. more

Super Sunday Brunch 10/21/2007

We just had Sunday brunch at Larchmont Grill and it was great. Typically, we're always left with a ""I could have made this at home"" feeling after we eat out. However, this was not the case at Larchmont Grill. From beginning to end, the service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. The menu offers something for everyone. A nice surprise - every brunch item comes with a complimentary starter such as muffins, soup or salad, making the Larchmont Grill an excellent value. Our foodie friends from Chicago were equally impressed. High marks to the on-table caraffe of coffee, attentive waitstaff (never once did I have to ask for a water refill) and electic menu items (next time, I'm trying the short-rib hash.) All in all, a great neighborhood spot. Highly reccomended! Pros: Unique menu, free starters with brunch, Cons: none! more

Best Cozy & Elegant! 9/29/2007

Great wine list - great food! This is not one of those huge outfits where it's easy for the customer to get lost in the shuffle. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxing lunch. Every table feels like it's been set just for you. And the food is solid! You will not leave hungry because you will want to finish everything on your plate. more
