I would rate it less if I could. I was greatly misdiagnosed. The doctor totally missed several bright red flags of Optic Neuritis, a very debilitating eye disease. I told him over and over I had pain in my eye, I told him over and over I could only see the letters in the middle of the eye chart, I told him over and over what I could see was blurry. He didn't listen. I lost all sight in one eye. It has been 10 months and I have been under the care of a wonderful, caring doctor and have regained a lot of my sight but I will never get it all back. The doctor at Lange told me all I needed was new glasses and I probably had a sinus infection which was causing the pain. I did not go to Lange for the glasses because they quoted over $600 just for lenses in my frames. I got them elsewhere for under $400. I asked them to reimburse me for the new ones since they had to be redone and they refused. Even the RX for the good eye was wrong!! Lange's mission is ""get 'em, get 'em out, get the next one in"". I actually found out about Dr Michael Lange and the Lange Eye Care Lasik centers when i googled lasik surgery and this page came up. I went to many lasik centers for an evaluation and decided to have Lange Eye Care do my lasik procedure. I was impressed with Dr Langes Knowledge of Lasik surgery and really impressed with Dr Martin Burger, Langes Lasik surgeon. The Lasik center in Gainesville was state of the art and they had three different lasers. I am no longer dependent on my glasses or contact lenses. Dr Michael Lange at the Lange Eye Institute in the Villages Florida did the best eye exam I have ever had. The institute is worth the drive from Orlando. I was treated like Royalty and even fed an organic gourmet sandwich. I had an awesome set of Hand made Italian Frames I picked in their optical made in less than an hour. I am considering Lasik surgery at this location in the Villages. I will bring my mother in for an eye exam in January 2008. Dr. Lange and staff go that extra mile.
