Worst

The seafood here was very disappointing. Overcooked and fried, greasy. This restaurant would never make it in a real seafood town, such as Baltimore.

Good seafood. A bit expensive but hey, 11/7/2013

Good seafood. A bit expensive but hey, seafood in the Denver area. Think shipping geography. Flown in daily. Unique menu with a New Orleans flavor. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/22/2012

After reading the negative reviews, my wife and I decided to keep our reservations to celebrate our 33rd Anniversay anyway and try it for ourselves. The experience was beyond delightful. I was asked upon making the reservation if we were celebrating anything special. When arriving we were greeted with menus printed across the top with ""Rex and Janet - Happy 33rd Anniversary"". My wife ordered the filet mignon and I had the fried seafood platter. We traditionally try each other's meals. The filet mignon was tender and amazingly tasty. Each part of the fried seafood platter was magnificent! Aftertaste? No way! The wait staff was phenomenal, and I left a previously unprecedented tip. We left the restaurant discussing the need to leave this review. Go to Landry's. You will not be disappointed. And tell them Rex and Janet sent you! more

Great service.....food.....deelissshhhhhh!!!! 12/4/2011

Although my husband and I read the negative reviews, we gave Landry's a try for ourselves. All I can say is that Boston and Baltimore is just plain out of their element! The service was prompt, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Insofar as the food, oysters on the half shell, nice size and juicy, oysters rockafeller, yummy. Steak was tender and cooked to order and Mahi Mahi was delicious. Landry's was a wonderful experience. Well worth the time and expense and worthy of a fat tip!! cest ce' bon!! more

Dinner rating 9/4/2011

I have visited two different Landys seafood houses and have tried the fried shrimp and other fried food they serve. It has a very bad taste and even worse after taste. What ever kind of oil they use its horible tasting. Food not cooked enough for me. The drinks were good I come from Boston and Landrys does not know seafood if they think they have the best. I will never eat there again. more

Really a bad experience 6/24/2011

I am so disappointed in my visit to Landry's this week. I so seldom get a chance to have dinner with my grown kids.\r Things were bad from the moment we walked in. We had made reservations for 5 and ended up at a table that was right next to the bar, very noisy and in the aisle. Asked to sit somewhere else but was told there are no other tables for 5 people. The waitress came to our table and asked if we wanted to order drinks and told us the happy hour specials. She took everyone's order and a few minutes later the manager came over to inform us that we couldn't order happy hour since we weren't sitting in the bar...ugh!\r My husband, son, son in law all ordered the all you can eat crab legs.....while there were lots of crab legs, they were flavorless - guess the chef has never heard of crab boil or salt! The waitress never refilled out water, brought a salad to the table for all of us to share that wasn't enough for 3 people. When I requested more, she told me there is no refill on the salad - I wasn't looking for seconds, just enough for 5 people! \r \r She never cleared away the crab leg shells even though they were overflowing on the table.\r \r Wish I would have taken my $300 and gone somewhere else. I will never return again and I will make sure my family and friends know how bad it was.\r \r Stay away! more

Really bad experience 3/6/2011

NOT GOOD AT ALL!! Dining area smelled like old carpet, food was not fresh, service was slow, meals were heavy on starches and skimpy on seafood, VERY expensive for the quality and we later experienced stomach issues accompanied by headaches. Made a belated valentines day outing the worst ever. Owners and managers should be ashamed of serving dangerous food to people. Not happy at all!! This location should be shut down OR overhauled. more

They don't wear gloves 5/11/2010

I began working there and quit when I saw their filthy kitchen and that EVERYONE there violated healthcode by handling food with dirty, bare hands. I did some research--they average 9 healthcode violtions per inspection! Do not eat here unless you're a fan of salmonella. more

Totally excellent 8/31/2008

Totally excellent in all respects..........food, drinks, service, atmosphere. Sea bass Madrid was outstanding. All 5 folks at our table had different entree and all were very pleased. We will be back!! Pros: food, drink, service, ambience Cons: nothing to report more

Excellent food, great ambience. Good seafood comes with a price! 8/4/2008

Searching for a good seafood one early evening, we stumbled onto this. What a wonderful experience! The seafood was as fresh as I will ever get. We ordered the Seafood platters, with a mixture of seafood choices. The rice was tasty, vegetables green and the shrimps were equally good. The menu was plentiful with much to offer. \r \r Our waiter, with the proverbial waiter smile, was cordial, and efficient. The ambience was attractive, soothing music, and very clean!! Good seafood comes with a price!! ...Rizzo more

Excellent Seafood & Crab Legs 4/1/2007

This place was awsome. We got great service, very attentive and professional, and the server was very knowledgeable about the menu which has a great selection. We really enjoyed the all you can eat crab legs and our friend had shrimp fresca. We did go there about 5 years ago and it was not all that good. Boy have things changed we now go about once a month. I read some of the reviews and think that mistakes can be made or maybe these people are just unhappy all the time (They must be perfect and never make a mistake). I would definitely suggest trying this place now and its much better than the other seafood restaurants. Pros: Great place, you should try it! Oh and they did have a ramp for wheelchairs Cons: Very busy, and should make a reservation more

Great Priced seafood 1/30/2007

Great crab specials...and a good place to go for my family. I did have dessert and it very special and tasted amazing. more

Overpriced Red Lobster 3/12/2006

I agree with the ""Overpriced red lobster"" comparisons. Food is not worth the price. I had heard good things about Landry's and was disappointed, even after I went back the second time to give it another chance. The waiter was even bad the second time around. The best part was the dessert. Mmm-banana foster. Real seafood lovers-do not go here! Pros: Dessert Cons: Food, Service, Atmosphere more

Had great 1st time experience on a Sat. night 2/25/2006

The five previous negative views listed here almost prevented us from going. We're glad we ignored them. Our appetizer, Perfect Pair, was hot, fresh, &delicious. The salad bowl was plentiful, great mix, &refreshing. I had the most tender farm raised salmon ever with a nice crab crusted topping. My wife (doesn't like fish) had the Chilean Seabass Madrid, and was in heaven (light, fluffy, non-fishy, great white sauce w/scallops, shrimp, &mushrooms. The creme brulee w/fresh berries was excellent. The dessert tray itself had multiple selections and looked awesome. Our service, from Rasa, was excellent. The setting is not romantic or upscale, but is certainly nice quality (better than Red Lobster mentioned by previous reviewers). Pricing is right for quality of the food, but not setting. We would still definitely recommend based on our experience for special nights out, just not necessarily a romantic one. Pros: fresh fish + sauces, great dessert selecti, great salad w/meal Cons: pricey for setting, pricey wine list more

Not Hans Brinker anymore 1/24/2006

I have never left a negative review in my life. I must now. Landry's was Hans Brinker when I was a kid, complete with a windmill. You had to get dressed up to go there. No it is Landry's. It is nice inside; think upscale Red Lobster with tight tables. I ordered the crab combo. The crab legs and au gratin were cold. I complained. I was given new. I was told by the manager that I ""should eat it while it's hot"". She was dripping with sarcasm. I left before I was full. Pros: Clam Chowder, Group Ambience Cons: Management , Service Time, Weak Drinks more

Yuck! 11/29/2005

The worst, greasy seafood in Denver. Go to jax fishhouse or mccormicks for the best in town. forget this place. more

I'm glad I didn't pay! 7/28/2005

Tables too close - constantly ducking/sliding chair to table so servers could get thru - which was every couple of minutes! Waitstaff interrupted too many times to a point we stopped conversing seeing him approach. Food luke warm in temp, over seasoned in pepper and small portions for cost outlay. Presented $75 gift cards and was told we had to stay until they (restaurant mgmt and waitstaff) trained on how to redeem and also that they only had one phone line. After 30 minutes of waiting for return of balance of gift cards and being upset we were told we had to wait while the staff trained, we left -leaving cards and balance on cards. Definitely will need to re-evaluate showing out-of-town guests the Downtown Aquarium since Landry's owns and operates it and a restaurant inside it! Pros: Salad presentation Cons: crowded tables, noisy, slow service more

So bad I HAD to post this review 7/11/2005

Normally, I don't bother taking the time to post a review. But this restaurant was so bad I have to tell everyone to save their money and go someplace else. Not only was the food bad, it took them a 1 hour 45 minutes to bring our dinners! And the server didn't say anything about it.. only when we were starving did she ""magically"" have our meals in 10 minutes. The Manager came by, never apologized, never offered any ""free dessert"" or whatever little gift they should give you when their service just blows. This place is the WORST in Denver. You've been warned!!!!! more
