Editorial review from Citysearch 8/19/2013

When you can go and tell everyone this is the place to be, you will be talking about Lambs and Ivy Pre-school. Every day my child enters the building his face lights up and a great day begins. Everyone is friendly and genuinely concerned about each child. The amenities are truly unique to a pre-school setting. If you want that experience, this is the pre-school to put on the top of your list. more

#1 in my book!! 3/20/2012

It has recently come to my attention that the Nunnally family (aka Wendy C.) posted the above comments to this website. Her misguided anger is the direct result of the school requesting that she pick up her children who she repeatedly brought to school sick and refused to come pick up after asking her to do so. At this time there were 3 strains of flu, stomach viruses, allergies and doctor offices were overflowing with sick children from preschool age to high school. The administration here at Lambs & Ivy is very mindful that our parents have jobs that require their time and we are very careful and considerate when asking a parent to pick up their sick child. However, our first priority is the health, safety and well-being of ALL children in our care, along with the staff. To suggest that there are no humidifiers in the classrooms or that we take children outside in threatening weather conditions is simply a lack of common sense. Furthermore, I find it very insulting and disrespectful that she would make an uninformed assumption about my marital status and legal name which I will not dignify with a response. Lastly, Lambs & Ivy may not be for every family...but for those families who made the choice to become partners with us in their child's educational development, we are grateful and will continue to work hard to challenge our students into developing self-esteem and the skills to become independent learners. Sincerely, Patricia A. Gale more

Looks can be deceiving..March 3, 2012 3/3/2012

As of March 3, 2012, I will have to agree with a prior post that Lambs & Ivy School is not a good place to send you child or children. Here's why..? Looking at the last post about leaks back in 2007 and now it is 2012 and the leaks, mildew smell, wet carpet in several of the open and classroom areas, unprofessional staff members, no open door policy to discuss issues and/or concerns about health hazards in their building. The management staff is very dishonest to customers, Mr. Anderson is the owner and not the sales person that he tells everyone when they come in to tour the facility. His wife is Ms. Pat and she goes by an alias name on her business cards. The name that is on her business card is Patricia A. Gale. Her real last name is Anderson. On a higher note, the center looks almost like a castle on the in/outside of the building when it comes to the child care service industry but its the behind the scene things that you don't know about on the front end, (leaks, mildew smell, wet carpet, kids are constantly getting sick, not cleaning up urine after each child; etc, unprofessional staff and administration staff. I do realize that children will get sick at any and every daycare and/or school but at this facility-it is ongoing. There are no humidifiers in the classrooms or throughout center. They take your children outside every single day and it doesn't matter what the temp is for the day. They take infants, toddlers, etc, out in threatening conditions. In conclusion, I don't mind paying top dollar for quality services but they don't value their customers at all. Furthermore, with leaks, mildew, wet carpet and other health hazards, we have decided to take our business elsewhere. Please use reasonable judgement before hand or you may find yourself in my shoes and some of the others situations. I have spoken to several parents at Lambs and Ivy and they actually told me about their concerns but I really didn't look too much into it. Now, I see firsthand of what's going on and now I will join other parents in their movement of not sending my child to Lambs & Ivy School at 1185 Macon View Dr. Cordova, TN 38018. One of the best schools in the country! 8/1/2011

I would like to state that, contrary to the negative comments made by the few uneducated parents, this is one of the best schools we have ever seen. My husband and I have looked at many schools in the county before settling down to pick Lambs and Ivy for our daughter. She has been there for two and a half years and our son started there since he was six months old. The teachers are well trained and love our kids. The school is beautiful, like a mini Las Vegas for children. It's very clean, well maintained, and doesn't smell. The administration has very high standards and is not afraid to terminate a teacher if he or she doesn't follow the strict rules and regulations expected there. Frankly, I'd rather that the teachers are let go then to have an incompetent teacher to take care of my children. My daughter has learned a lot and can read, write, and do math better than our friends' children who attend other schools. My husband and I are very pleased with the teachers and administrators working there. It's an excellent school and the staffs there are terrific. more

Not a great place! 2/3/2011

First, I would like to state that the leak in this facility is not fixed and parents walk by the buckets every time it rains. The leaks are located in the roof right where the playground is inside by the 3 and 4 year olds class so the kids get plenty of mold and mildew. Second, the gym where the children sleep is full of urine and it smells like the last cleaning was when it opened. Third, they are losing teachers left and right and my childs teacher was fired. Fourth, the now take state assistance and not that I have anything against assistance there are some interesting children here as well as parents. In my sons class a child standing on the table yelling curse words at 4 years old. Finally, the education not worth the amount you pay they say their private, very interesting. Last the staff ghetto and I must admit they don't care just about the money and state funding. more

Excellent place to send your child 3/4/2010

The management and staff at Lambs & Ivy are very attentive and put the children first. I have felt at ease with the facility since walking through the doors. The staff is very welcoming and help make parents feel comfortable leaving their child(ren) in the center. I have also found the curriculum to be very challening, yet my children love going to school to learn new and exciting things. I would highly recommend sending your children to this school. . Pros: Wonderful facility, Caring staff, Safe environment more

Wonderful Staff 2/4/2010

I am a previous employee of Lambs & Ivy and would like to comment on the Staff. They are a wonderful group of people and anyone would have the privilege to work with them. They are all very well trained and are required to keep up with training. Everyone there has a lot of experience working with children and each of them enjoys what they do. Pros: Caring Staff, Safe Environment more

Okay for now.. 11/23/2009

I send my two year old here and I absolutely LOVE his teacher. I have noticed that some of the staff can be mean with the kids but this is probably a result of them being underpaid and unappreciated. The tuition is rather steep, but the location is convenient and the school is in a safe area and facility. Overall I feel okay with the daycare, but they do seem to have a very high turn-over rate with teachers and I am a bit weary of keeping him here after he moves out of his current room. Pros: Beautiful Facility, Safe area Cons: Leaky ceiling, some crabby staff that are probably underpaid more

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!! 12/12/2007

I am HIGHLY disappointed with Lambs & Ivy. I pay nearly $700/month for this school, and the staff is EXTREMELY rude. The owners have NO idea how to speak w/ parents and are very demeaning. The roof continues to leak and they continue to do nothing about it. The sink in my child's room is not working and everyone of those children are constantly sick. I am VERY tired of unprofessional, rude, people. To pay nearly $700/month and have things that aren't fixed and people not being able to deal w/ my child properly is absured! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!! Unless new owners and faculty take over. Pros: Nice Atmosphere Cons: Owners, Leaking of roof more
