Disappointed 1/2/2012

I'll give two stars simply for the courteous service we received. My daughter booked the room for me thinking this would be a real treat. We had one of the nicest rooms with two queen sized beds and had a very pretty view from our window. However, we were subjected to a loud-mouth guy in the next room who started up about 10:30 pm and never stopped talking until well after midnight. And the room service food was mediocre at best and so horribly overpriced. The price of food is really outrageous! The extremely high cost of food plus the paper-thin walls that allowed you to hear every word of a conversation in the room next door really made for a very unsatisfactory stay at this supposedly ""luxurious"" resort. I definitely do not recommend a stay at this rip-off place. I know I'll never stay there again. more

Best Resort on Lake Travis 12/1/2010

If you are visiting family or friends in Austin this holiday season or are planning a last minute getaway, Lakeway Resort and Spa is the best resort by far on Lake Travis and in Austin for that matter. The property is beautiful and sits directly overlooking Lake Travis. The staff goes above and beyond and the rates are not bad for the quality of service and ammenities you receive. I highly recommend it for couples, families, and even business travelers. more

Our wedding Reception.. 8/17/2010

We recently had our wedding reception at the Lakeway Resort and spa. While the views are spectacular and the pools are great... the wedding coordinator was horrible, the rooms were unsatisfactory, and many of our guests were left feeling ripped off. more

Great location, great views!! 3/23/2009

Terrible Resort, save your money and go elsewhere 1/12/2009

My company had our Christmas party at the Lakeway Resort last month and I have to start off by saying it is a beautiful resort. Beyond that though I don't have anything positive to say. Our Christmas party was ok, but the food was average at best, had some of the worst crab cakes anywhere, everything else was mediocre. My main issue though was with a situation concerning our room. After returning to our room after our Christmas party, we are relaxing and a baby in the room next to us starts yelling and crying. My first thought was who brings a baby on a weekeny getaway to a resort and spa, but I remembered that one of the employees has mentioned there were several weddings going on over the weekend. Well, the crying came and went and woke us up several times during the night and early morning. After not enjoying the over priced breakfast buffet where the food wasn't heated properly I was ready to call it a day and check out. When asked how my stay was I told the girl at the front desk it was not great due to the baby crying in the next room all night. I told her how it kind of kills the romantic mood to hear a baby crying, to which her response was, ""you must not have children,"" to which I said no and I don't think people come to this resort to hear other peoples children. This was not the response I was looking for and was handed the bill and pretty much told tough luck. I contacted the hotel later in the week to speak with management and the manager who called me back just said sorry and that there were several babies at the resort and that he would make sure I had a better experience whe I returned again (which will never happen.) I explained to him that the correct way to have handled the situation from the beginning would have been to put the guests with the baby in a corner room and leave a room in between since they were not at max capacity. He had no reply pretty much and that was it. They obviously don't care about losing business, so I will go elsewhere. Cons: Everything but the view... more

Best Spa All Around! 10/1/2008

The Staff at the Spa was delightful when visiting the resort for a mid-week getaway. I was received well by the delightful receptionist, and quickly changed into proper attire, and relaxed in the most beutiful lounge, with a breath-taking view of Lake Travis. Minutes later, I was taken back for the most thorough and balanced, deep-tissue massage I have ever experienced in my lifetime! Nathan is phenomenal! I concluded my visit with an excellent Spa Pedicure, that allowed me to take in the view of the Lake once again. This was a beautiful visit all around, and I could not have been more pleased! Pros: Scenic views, Wonderful staff that is highly skilled. Cons: None noted. more

Great Spa services 9/17/2008

My sister & I stayed here one weekend before the birth of her first child. The room was beautiful as was the view of the lake. The bed was extremely comfortable & it was very quiet during the night. The waiting room for our services was really comfortable as well as the robes. The changing facilites were incredible was showers, hair dryers & everything else you could want after your services. My sister & I really enjoyed our massages & thought they were worth every dollar spent. Spent a nice afternoon relaxing by the pool. Looks like the pool would really be fun for the kids as well as adults. We returned the next day for pedicures. What an amazing view during that service & also worth every dollar spent. Only down side I would say was restaurant. We both thought it was overpriced for only average food & the service from the waiters was not very good. Next time we'll just eat some where else, although the breakfast on the balcony both mornings was really nice. Pros: beautiful views, great services, comfortable rooms Cons: restaurant food & service more

Relaxing spa with breathtaking views 5/16/2007

I recently visited Lakeway Resort and Spa for my sisters wedding. The personal service we received was fabulous. We all had massages, facials , mani's and pedi's. Lori did my massage, and wow was I impressed. It was the best massage I have ever had. Valorie did my sisters make-up, and it was just beautiful. We had such a great time, Becky did my mani and pedi and I have to say, it was the best pedi I've ever had. My feet felt so great! I recommend Lakeway Resort and Spa to everyone, whatever the occasion. The staff is so professional and the location is just simply beautiful. Pros: personal service, views of lake travis Cons: drive to downtown, airport, small commute more

Best Place in Austin 2/28/2007

I stayed here while I was moving from one part of Austin to Another. It is a 30 min. drive to downtown. It is really worth staying there. They offer great service. The Staff is very friendly. Has great views of Lake Travis. Is worth every penny. They just renovated as well. Pros: Great views, friendly staff, close to Lake Travis Cons: 25 min from downtown, and 35 min. to the airport. more

Lakeway UTOPIA 3/13/2006

This place is so great. Great View. Great Service. Just plain Great. The style of our room was very modern and so comfortable. The breakfast that room service brought up was pretty good, but eating on the balcony with the beautiful view made it so much better. My fiance and I didn't want to leave, but we will definately be back. Pros: Great View, Beautiful Resort, Friendly Service more

Who Knew! 12/21/2003

What a pleasant surprise! I have to admit that my eyebrows raised when our company announced that our fall conference would be at the Lakeway Inn. To me it sounded like a mom & pop operation. BUT...when I arrived, I was just delighted! Just driving into the entrance to the resort you knew you were someplace special. Both the landscaping, the view are wonderful! When I checked in, the staff was gracious and attentive. They even upgraded me when they found out that I was receiving an award at the conference! The whole experience was great - especially the awards dinner we had on the Yacht! What a treat! The sunset cruise paired well with the wonderful food. I will definitely pass the word about this hidden treasure! Pros: Lake Views, Friendly Staff, Nice Rooms Cons: 40 min from Airport more

WAY overpriced for the accomodations 10/21/2003

Requested best room for wedding night; only jr. suite available. Assured they were very nice. Requested late check-in (11:30pm). Told they'd be expecting us. Asked to see the room. Told it wouldnt be set until check-in. Directed toward Lodge building; thought I was getting room in the Lodge-wrong! Arrival- no one around (as promised). Security called. In dress and tux, we loaded bags into a golf cart that drove us to the 700s tenement. Room- dirty 70s-decor; an old cabin, the type you pay $300/week; dark, electrical outlets loose, closet door off hinges, shower curtain torn, bathroom filthy. Shower unusable- pressure not adjustable and the spray painful. Called to change rooms; front desk person said she had ""no power"" to help; we'd be charged in full regardless. No managers on site at night. Next morning, two managers gave lip-service; said call after honeymoon and they'd fix things. Never returned calls. Pros: Lake view Cons: 70's decor, Dirty and dark, Overpriced more

Relaxing and Romantic 11/2/2002

I got the romance package for my boyfriend ealier this spring, just to get away from the stress and hassles of life. The deal sounded good, with champain, chocolate covered strawberries, and breakfast in bed the following morning. The best part when we got there turned out to be the room, atmosphere, and the incredible view from the balcony of Lake Travis. It turned out better than I could have hoped! The only downside may have been the restaurant nearby. Expensive, and not so wonderful. But that was easily made up for by the other luxrious accommodations. more

Room with a View 8/8/2002

I've had the opportunity to stay at Lakeway Inn & Resort on a couple of different occasions. The newer building is better if you're looking for a more hotel-like atmosphere. The original buildings are great for a resort feel. Nice and secluded, close to the water, ROMANTIC, with terrific views of Lake Travis. I can't think of a better place to have a romantic getaway. Pros: Great views, Boat ramp, Excellent food more

Wonderful accommodations 6/10/2002

I stayed in the older portion of this hotel, although I couldn't tell from the room I stayed in. At night, I could hear boats pass with people laughing and having a good time. It wasn't too loud--more for the atmosphere. I've seen the newer building and found it quite impressive. I would like to stay there one day. This is a good romantic hotel if you are looking for a weekend getaway. Just don't speed in Lakeway because of the deer, children and cops. more
