Lake White Club

Okay, The Lake White Club is a little bit run down. But that is all part of the history. When you walk in the doors, you are actually stepping into a piece of history. Why settle of a fancy, impersonal restraunt when you can have a classic, historical dinner at The Lake White Club. The service is excellent. The food is creative and delicious. The seating is prompt. No reservations needed unless for large groups. Great view. And as for the ""drinks in bar only,"" most of the time if you ask your waitress she will go down to the bar and get you a drink. The place does need a complete overhaul. We often joke it's going to slide into the lake some day. The food is fantastic. They don't seem to understand when you ask for NON smoking, it means a section of non smokers and NOT just your table. I have eaten at Lake White since the 70's and the food is always great. It's like going back in time as the place has never changed. I'd suggest they offer the salad dressings for sale, and do something with the waiting room. The floors are uneven, the decor is very outdated, the ceilings too low, the NO HATS sign is really corny, but despite everything the great food always keeps us coming back. Though people are allowed their own opinion, they sometimes go overboard on describing their experience at a restraunt. Not to mention, most people who write the reviews only eat at the restraunt once or twice. So I am here to set the record straight. I eat lunch at The Lake White Club every Sunday. The owners, Audre and Dick Ford, are always joyful and entertaining. The seating is always prompt, and the food is... let's just say....yum!!!! But most important is the atmosphere. Everyone is polite, and the workers don't just see you as a customer, they see you as a friend. The take the time to ask how your day is. ""The Club"" as it's called by locals is a bit overrated. The food and service aren't too bad, but it is a bit run-down. They are best known for fried chicken. The prime rib is more like a nice cut of roast beef, seafood is iffy at best. The turkey and ham with cheese sauce thing is really good, though.
