Editorial review from Citysearch 2/7/2013

Pathetic staff - rude, snide, condescending and uses phrases like - ""you have a choice to go elsewhere"", ""you need to be able to pay"" (even though we didnt bring up this topic). I cannot believe that people like them are even allowed to interact with patients. They refused to even let us interact with the office manager. Dr. Landis was nice but this whole experience is appalling. I will never ever go back and will also write to the authorities complaining about them. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment. more

One-size fits all medicine. 5/21/2012

Staff is very rude and uncaring, this includes the nurses. \r \r Daughter had seizures and ceberal palsy. Her febrile seizures make her turn blue. We put her in hospital for DTAP vaccination. The Lake Mary doctor who went to check on her discharged her after about 12 hours, even though risk of fever is 48 hours for DTAP. We got home and after awhile she starting seizing VIOLENTLY. In and out of turning blue for over 1/2 hour. Fever about 103 and still cooking according to ER nurse. It was very hard for ER staff to stop this very scary seizure.\r \r Fast foward a couple of months. They want her to get MMR in office. I didn't refuse, but just wanted it done in hospital again. They send me certified letter refusing to treat my daughter because she wasn't up to date on shots by the age of two. She wasn't up to date because she has seizures. This was very upsetting as she is very medically complicated, and I felt that we were being abandoned by her doctors. Way to uphold their Hippocratic oath!\r \r They just do not take in consideration any mitigating factors in a child's care, this is what I mean by one-size-fits-all medicine. Just a month after that lovely letter, I did get my daughter her MMR in the hosptial, under the care of another Doctor, who himself had seen his soon turn blue from a febrile seizure.\r \r The sad thing is that I do believe in vaccinations. I just wasn't doing it fast enough for their liking. Dr. Landis is a good doctor, but the office's one-size fits all policy has them discharing their most vulnerable patients (with good insurance I might add). more

You will not find any better than Dr Landis and Dr. Alber ar 3/31/2012

Dr, Landis and Dr. Alber are phenomenal doctors. They spend time with your child and go the extra mile to make you as a parent understand what they are saying. My son is 15years old and these doctors have seen him since birth. He was diagnosis with type one diabetes last May, Dr Landis was most caring ,we were directed to go Arnold Palmer Hospital, Dr. Landis checked on him everyday. He even call the room to see if I was OK, He check on Him when we went home. Best doctors out there, Hard to find genuine caring humans nerveless Doctors. My daughter now takes her son to these doctors. Thank-you Dr. Landis and Dr Alber. Teresa Ohlsen more

Knowledgeable and Caring 1/2/2012

As a pharmaceutical and diagnostics sales rep., I saw a lot of practices/physicians that I would not trust with the care of my asthmatic child. Due to their knowledge, caring, and professionalism, I have taken my son to Lake Mary Pediatrics for 12 years. Reading complaints of the practice, it appears some parents don't want to follow physician recommendations or pay when their child is seen by a dr. or nurse pracitioner. It is proper medical protocol to triage (screen) patients with a nurse line to determine if the child needs further evaluation and, if they are seen, to pay for the services. more

Dr. Chung is AMAZING 9/29/2011

I was shocked to see some og these reviews. I followed my original peds Dr. here and he moved again to Conroy area. Had such an amazing experience that I decided not to follow him and stayed here. The murses are so kind, Dr. Chung was amazing with my two year old. They always have my records ready for me to take without a wait. They have never been anything other than professional. It is a drive for me, but way better than the last two offices we went to. Super, super pleased. Never have had an issue with billing or anything. more

Overall - No Problems 7/26/2011

I have been using them for the last year (since my daughter was born) - they are always on-time with appointments and they take time to listen to you and answer your questions. The staff has always been very courteous and professional. I did switch insurance companies during the middle of the year and told them that the insurance company wouldn't cover a certain service; but they wanted to submit it for me anyway and then let me pay at the next appointment if it wasn't covered. I have seen Dr. Landis & some of the PA's - all are very professional. more

Bullies!!!! 2/21/2011

Worst Pediatrics ever! Not only do they lose records all the time but they bully parents, double charge when you don't do what they recommend for your child. I have heard 4 horror stories in the last few months. They threatened to call DCF because a parent wanted to wait before more shots because the baby had reactions, they have given wrong shots to a patient (chicken pox instead of flu). They lie, they bully, name call and are extremely disrespectful!!! Keep your kids far away from them! more

RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and not worth the HEADACHES 10/14/2010

Office full of ass clown doctors and nurses that get off on playing ""God"" with other peoples children. Rude, unprofessional, and totally not worth the headaches. They are just in it for the money... lol (not ours anymore, thank God.)\r \r I would suggest firing your entire staff, and get back to the type of service that Gina Holbrook mentions in her review. It's obvious that you have lost your touch Miles. In today's world, you will not get away with providing horrible service. There are too many options out there and far too many ways to spread the word. I'll do my part, maybe next time... you'll do yours. \r \r Thank your entire staff for signing the letter that you sent to my house after we decided to go elsewhere. I'm not sure what kind of stunt that was...but I'm sure it was to make you and your crew feel better about yourselves. lol \r \r BTW... if you would have spent as much time caring for my daughter as you did certifying the letter sent in the mail... we'd probably not be having this discussion.\r \r Here's to the reader trying to make an informed decision about spending money at your office!\r \r Regards, more

Still the best after 14 years! 10/31/2009

When our son was born 14 years ago Dr. Landis came to the hospital to take care of him. We were so impressed with his kidness we have never looked anywere else for a doctor. Our son Tyler who is now 2 was born 5 weeks early. Dr. Landis, Dr. Roque and Dawn were amazing while he was in the NICU. They were always a phone call away and always made us feel as we were thier only patients. \r \r Thank you for 14 years of wonderful service to the Holbrook Family! Pros: Very caring staff and great doctors. Cons: None so far! more

RUDE Staff & Drs with bigger egos than their knowledge 3/12/2009

3 years ago we adopted internationally and were VERY happy with Dr. Landis who was recommended to us. Since the initial visit though, we have become increasingly unhappy with the practise espeically the Staff from the receptionist to most importantly the Office Manager. The WHOLE staff needs to attend a class on how to treat customers.\r \r We recently adopted another international child and the Staff & Dr. Chong has decided it is Florida State Law that we provide them with a copy of the adoption records. We contacted our attorney who informed us, there is NO Florida State Law or US Govt law requiring us to provide these documents to a medical doctor. This requests was not made for the first child we took to see Dr. Landis and now the Practise refuses to treat the first child until they have a copy of their adoption records.\r \r This practise has grown TOO big and it is hurting Dr. Landis reputation. Pros: Pros: Dr. Landis and PRN Kaye Cons: Cons: Dr. Chong & the WHOLE staff of the practise more

Apathetic Staff - Crude and Ignorant 1/27/2009

My son is nearly 4 years old and has been seen by Dr. Landis since birth. He is an amazing Pediatrician; kindhearted and well-educated. However, we have noticed over the years, that his staff has become increasingly apathetic. The staff is terse and disinterested. When we changed insurance carriers we were treated very rudely, simply because it required additional paperwork for them to process. Furthermore, their request for school forms (and anything else) is absurd to say the least, after a series of laborious efforts you are left with no forms and total frustration. And if your at the point were you would like to voice your opinion about the lousy service, you're transferred to yet another voice mail. As a result of the staff's crude behavior and ignorant ways, we are now searching for another Pediatrician. Dr. Roque and Dr. Landis are amazing Pediatrician's, however, a doctor's practice is only as good as his staff. Pros: Dr. Landis Cons: Staff is rude, Never seen at scheduled appointment time, NOT worth the effort more

great doctor 1/25/2009

Dr. Alber, we miss you! I transferred my girls to a female doctor because at their ages (11 & 14), I thought they would be more comfortable with a woman, but they were not happy there. We went back to Oconee Pediatrics, but Dr. Alber was gone! Besides Dr. Lee, Dr. Alber was their favorite doctor. Dr. Lee has retired, he had been their doctor since birth until Dr. Alber came to the office. Dr. Alber is greatly missed. Pros: good with young kids & teens Cons: only that he moved away more

My son was fired from Lake Mary Pediatrics 1/14/2009

My son was seen at Lake Mary Pediatrics since birth. At 4 years old, I took him in for allergies. The visit went fine but when they billed my new insurance carrier (Aetna), the $38 claim was returned unpaid. I called Aetna and they said they needed Proof of Prior Coverage from my previous insurance company (Golden Rule) to determine it wasn't a preexisting condition. I requested the form from Golden Rule but never received it. I called and requested it a second time. After several late payment notices from Lake Mary Pediatrics, I called the billing department to let them know that as soon as I received the Proof of Prior Coverage form, I would submit it to Aetna and they would pay the claim. After a few more late notices, I finally received the Proof of Prior Coverage letter and faxed it to Aetna. The very next day, I received a certified letter signed by every doctor in the practice that my soon would no longer be seen by them. Unbelievable!!!!! Pros: New Clean Office Cons: Billing Department more

Wonderful and Caring... 11/11/2008

We have used Lake Mary Pediatrics for more than 17 years. Dr. Landis was there when my son was born. The care and compassion from all the staff has always been incredible. I would highly recommend this office. more

The most Caring,Patient and Personable Pediatrician ever! i highly reccomend 10/19/2008

Both of my children (2 boys ages3&5) Have been patients of Lake Mary Peds. since birth. I am more than pleased with the care that they have received over the years. If I run into them they ask about my children by name I have a son with chronic asthma and have had to call the after hours number on many nights betwenn 12 and 5 a.m. with questions and concerns . If the phone call awoke any of the Dr's or agitated them in anyway they have never let it show. Both of my boys had severe acid reflux as infants causing them to only be able to drink a very expensive formula that wic would not cover ;the nurses would save samples for me. This lets me know as a parent that this is a group of Doctors and Nurses that care about their patients. more

INCREDIBLE DOCTOR/PERSON! 8/28/2008

Our family just relocated from Ohio to Lake Mary and one of our biggest challenges was to locate a qualified pediatrician ASAP. Lake Mary Pediatrics made appointments for my children within one day, which was very impressive to me. We were a bit nervous when we went, as were my children (we have had the same family doctor for 30 years and he has cared for our entire family since birth!). As soon as we met Dr. Alber it was as if the worry drifted right out the door. He was EXTREMELY patient, down-to-earth, personable, charming and highly intelligent. We are the proud parents of twin babies (20 months old) and they were even pulling on his legs and pants and he took it like a champ, like a parent. We are very impressed by Dr. Alber and would not even consider going anywhere else...... this is amazing because I come from a complete medical family, most everyone is a doctor or R.N. so I am quite picky.\r \r If you are looking for an amazing doctor your search is over - Dr. Alber is top notch, first-class!\r Adam & Melinda Smith & Family\r Pros: Fantastic doctor and person! Cons: None, cannot think of one single con more
