Authentic Food, Amazing Atmosphere!! 1/18/2010

I have been meaning to try this place for a while, and now that I finally did, I am almost mad at myelf for waiting do long! The food is amazing, went there for the lunch buffet which was so full of mouth watering items, I literally didn't know where to start. They change some of their items daily too, becuase when I went back later in the week they had a different meat at carving station. Also, it was unbelievably inexpensive - under $15 for all that food! We ate outside on the terrace, now that the weather has been so amazing...it was so peaceful and lovely out there. Everyone must try this place, you are truly missing out if you haven't. Pros: Best Osso Bucco I have ever had...and so affordable! more

Delicious Italian and Yummy Desserts! 12/2/2009

La Palma Restaurant, in Coral Gables has been in business for 17 years, but it was not until last weekend that I had the opportunity to dine there. This hidden gem is located on a historical site in the Gables dating back to 1924. But, beyond it?s history, what makes this restaurant really special is their delicious authentic Northern Italian food and incredible homemade desserts. La Palma is a great date location, especially on the weekends when they offer live piano music, or perfect for a quick, but delicious lunch - their scrumptious lunch buffet is under $13. Mangia! more

Tasty food, hidden nook 12/2/2009

I am new to the area and came to La Palma with my bf who was visiting from out of town. We wanted to have a special night. I heard La Palma was really romantic...and that is was! We were seated in the courtyard in this little nook. So private! It was all lit up and truly the best night. The food was delish! I had pasta and my boyfriend had fish...both were divine. Pros: So romantic! more

Awesome 3/5/2009

Our family went to La Palma for Father's Day Brunch and had a wonderful experience. The food selection was superb and the service was excellent. That's why when our son and his fiancee told us that they were getting married, we all agreed that the best place to have the reception was at La Palma's Courtyard. When we contacted Laura, she was extremely helpful, assisting us with all the little details. Our son's wedding is in 2 weeks. Unlike some of our friends who have told us horror stories about their wedding nightmares, we are truly enjoying this special time, thanks to the assistance provided by La Palma. ANOTHER SIDE OF THE STORY 8/7/2008

I was sorry to hear about the experience described by PearlGirl and felt compelled to write so that anyone who reads these reviews will hear the other side of the story. I have been a frequent customer of La Palma since it opened fifteen years ago and have always enjoyed the best of service, the warm and welcoming environment, the delightful entertainment and the delicious food. I can't imagine how a chat with the manager would not have helped to resolve any issues she was experiencing, but I hope she and her companion(s) will give it another shot sometime in the future. Pros: Incredible ambience. A real gem. Cons: The beautiful old building is tucked away on a side street and not enough people are aware of its location. more

As great as ever 8/5/2008

I never write reviews or participate in chats,, but after reading the only negative comment below, (which is probably written by a competitor as it seems they managed to hate everything as if they were using a checklist and I saw the exact same word for word review for another local restaurant) I had to respond. I always schedule my important business meetings there because everything has been consistently great. I am Italian and this is how Italian food is supposed to taste. With so many great restaurants in Coral Gables, La Palma has an edge. I went with a colleague of mine and we wanted to go to some where different. It has a great ambiance and the cuisine to match. Gross food, horrendous service 5/6/2008

I'm shocked to read these reviews! I was there last night for dinner and had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We waited 45 minutes for our food. During those 45 minutes we didn't see our waiter once and had to ask someone else for water and to check on our meal. When it finally came, I had the crab ravioli my companion had the snapper, it was horrible. I've made better tasting crab ravioli. I wasted $25 dollars and an hour of my life. Finally when it came time to pay our waiter was of course right there so we were able to get out quickly which was the only plus. Except that he blatantly looked to see right in front of us how much we had given him, 15% even though service was awful, and scowled at us! more

Great Lunch and dinner spot 7/20/2006

La Palma is on of the few restaurants that I will frequent for both Lunch and dinner. The atmoshphere for lunch is friendly and lively and the food is always outstanding. At dinner the atmosphere is romantic and cozy , especially when Oscar and Armando are performing. The menu is extensive and if you fancy something not on the menu La Palma will accomadate you if possible. The courtyard offers the best outdoor dining in Miami. Italian in old Coral Gables... 5/25/2006

The first thing you notice about La Palma is the building, nestled in against the giant banks and buildings of Coral Gables, its like its from another time. Be sure to sit outside if the weather is good. The courtyard with its lights and trees is a pleasure to eat in. The food is excellent and the recommendations from the wait staff is great! Dont forget desert. In addition to eating here regularly, we held our wedding here in December 05. The restaurant puts on a great performance as its transformed into a truly unique, beautiful setting that will definitely be remembered. more

Big Fan.... 9/12/2002

I absolutely love this place..Oscar and Armando are the best team of performers. Oscar does a great Nat King Cole..Armando is the sweetest. Whenever i'm asked where i want to dine is always at La Palma. I definetely recommend it to everyone that wants to have a great evening! The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly. Tino is great! and when the evenings get cooler its lovely to sit outside under all the lights... Pros: Great Entertainment, Friendly Staff Cons: closes too early more
