Birthday Bash 6/27/2010

We went to the restaurant over the weekend for a friend's birthday. We got hustled by the waiter!!! The waiter sold us a set menu and promised an Italian Feast... Instead we got tiny portions and an obnoxious bill. We went next door to the sushi restaurant to actually get full ;) All in all nice place to hang out at the bar but BEWARE when you order food what you are getting and how much they are going to charge you....Or you'll leave feeling robbed!! Pros: Bar/Lounge Area Cons: Food Service/Cost$$ more

the best italian restaurant in LA 2/27/2010

the loggia is an elegant restaurant, friendly and a great location, have a huge menu with great variety of wines and the staff makes you feel there is a family atmosphere is the best place where you can either share with your loved ones, friends, partners ...... is important to note the attention of the younger waiter in this restaurant since I was there that night offered me the best of both Italian and Spanish food is a great person. definitely encourage you to come to know the valley's best .... more

the best family place 2/27/2010

the staff is fabulous served me very well, made me spend a very good night more

WORST restuarant I've ever been to!!!! 11/27/2008

we came here for my friend's birthday and from the beginning until the end they treated us like we didn't exist. They completely ignored our requests, service was horrible, we had to ask 5 times for someone to take our order and the place was empty! the food was ok, but the portions were way over priced for the tiny (seriously the size of my palm) portions they gave us. Even after we asked how large the ravioli would be, they said its pretty big and they brought us literally 8 super thin pieces of ravioli. In addition, we asked before hand if there was a cake-cutting fee and they said ""no"" and then they charged us $40 for the cake cutting when we didn't even ask them to cut it and they didn't even warn us about it. When we confronted them about this they threatened to ""keep our cars hostage"" at the vallay if we didn't pay and then the manager started yelling at us and pointing his finger at us in front of the whole restaurant because we brought a cake (even though they said it was okay before!). This is seriously the WORST place I've ever been, I would have rather had dinner at 7-11 or McDonalds than this crappy place! The sad part is, I'm not even exaggerating. This was seriously that bad. Pros: No pros Cons: Everything sucked! especially the service and the managers more

THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE IS VILE, UNPROFFESSIONAL, AND RUINED OUR DINNER 6/16/2008

I go to La Loggia and Next Door )the bar next door) quite frequently. I have always enjoyd it. This week, however, a friend of mine were dining at Nexy Door, when a waiter approached us and asked if he could take the table at which we were eating to give to someone else. We were enranged not only beause tha has sat us at that booth, but because we were still eating. We said no. About a half jour later, a grasy man with long hair approached us again about the table. We told him we were still ating off it, and needed it. He took it away anyway, Leaving e and my friend to eat off this time little cube of a table. When I told the alleged owner that I was insulted and we were enjoying our meal, but he did not care, he said that I could leave the restaurant or just deal with it. I have been there before with friends (with big money) and watched this same man kiss their as**es. So unless you have a lot of money and can get the ownr to bow down to you, I suggest you stay away from this place. Unless, of course, you don't mind abbrasive staff and eating with no table. Pros: The tapas Cons: The Manager more

WORST MANAGER EVER!!! 3/10/2008

I absolutely love this place but refuse to return due to the unprofessional manager. I never take the time to write reviews on restaurants but after my experience with this person felt it was important to inform consumers and address his behavior. I was there with coworkers last wed night and when the check arrived we placed 2 credit cards down to split the bill. The very DUMB waitress only charged my card. After informing her of this she stated no problem she would VOID the original charge and then split the cost. Well the next day I saw that I was charged TWICE, Once for the entire Bill and then again for the splitting of the bill. I left several messages with no response and then when I finally got a hold of the manager he was extremely defensive, pretty much told me that it was not their mistake and that I would need to check with my bank, and what did I expect him to do. When I stated what do you mean what do I expect you to do you are the manager of that incompetent employer he stated I could show up to his restaurant with my lawyer or whomever and I ended up hanging up on him because he was being so inconsiderate. Any place that treats their customers in that manner does not deserve to be dined at with all the amazing places to eat in LA. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE, go to Firefly instead right down the street! more

We're becoming regulars.....it's that good! 2/28/2008

Great atmosphere, romantic. The food is always so wonderful. Every time, we try something new and are always pleased. The waiters are very friendly. One of them continually offers reasonable wine selections that won't break the bank! We eat out regularly and this is one of our favorites!!! more

Been going for years... 2/11/2008

I was introduced to La Loggia by my aunt and uncle years ago. Ever since, my girlfriend and I have been going. She loves this place. The atmosphere is wonderful; dim lighting, romantic, elegant, and casual at the same time. The servers are very polite and knowledgeable about there food. I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day. I always recommend this restaurant to friends. Oh yeah... and after dinner, ask for Otto's special - a nice after dinner drink of orange liquor and brandy. Pros: The banana napoli dessert... and the atmosphere. Cons: None yet... more

Wonderful taste of Italy 1/25/2008

Enjoyed the experience from the time we arrived until the time we left. Food was tasty! Ordered my favorite dish the angel hair pasta... perfect sauce, not too sweet and not too tangy. Will go there again and will bring friends. Thank You! Pros: Enjoyed the food Cons: Parking could be a little bit more organized. more

Ambience is very romantic, food was good 1/9/2008

I had my birthday party here recently and although I made my reservation for the ""patio"" I ended up inside. However, the manager apologized and my guests and I let it go. I ordered the squash ravioli and it was really delicious but was a small portion size. Wish there was more to it, I think I literally got four raviolis. The wine was delicious, the server helped my pick it out. The tables were a little too close to eachother which not only made it difficult to get to the restroom, since we were in the back corner, but our neighbors could hear our entire conversation and since we were a group of 20 something girls and they were clearly unhappy and snobs, there were issues. Aside from that, half of my friends loved their food, a couple felt the chicken was a bit too dry etc.\r Overall, I had a satisfactory time but would only recommend this spot for quiet romantic meals for two. Pros: Beautiful and romantic Cons: The inside is too cramped, only ask to be seated on the patio. more

Good 12/19/2007

Absolutely loved the fact they ""snowed"" the outside of the building in the spirit of the holiday season. We had prompt service. The atmosphere is quaint.. I had I bite of my friends filet mignon and it was perfect! I would recommend that and their banana napoleon dessert- yum. more

Unimaginably bad! 4/1/2007

Mediocre food (pasta was al dente OK ... but shoudn't it be?) ... worst service ever! Indifferent waiter forgot appetizer ... took forever to bring check ... Maria's which is pedestrian at best ... is better. DO NOT EVER EAT AT LA(ME) LOGGIA! more

Bad Food, even Worse Service 1/5/2007

Food is okay. Service is the worst ever!!! The owner/manager is very unprofessional and could care less for the customers satisfaction. Don't recommend this place nor will I be returning- EVER!!! Pros: The salmon Cons: The service more

Good food. Bad Service. 11/1/2006

Okay. Honestly this place is a shame. The food is very good and I would take my wife all the time. But the service is absolutely terrible. I love good food and would go here even if the service was average. But it is well below average. more

I love this place. 7/10/2006

As a Los Angeles resident, I often crave an escape from the attitude of overrated restaurants in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. In addition, it's always great to have a killer date spot for an unsuspecting lady. For me, La Loggia satisfies both of these wants. The atmosphere is intimate, but not stuffy. The food has always been superb. And my dates--when i can get them--have always been effusive in their praise of the restaurant, and its owner, Frank Leon, who is a warm and welcoming host. Maurizio is great, too. Everything is fairly priced, and the service has always been above par. With the addition of the Next Door Tapas Lounge--which is connected to the restaurant--La Loggia makes for a fun dining experience. I suggest you arrive before your reservation time so that you can grab a drink and some tapas with your date or dinner party before the main course. Pros: Parking, price, quality Cons: can be busy on weekends more

Quite Disappointed :-( 5/31/2005

I've been coming here for years and the past 2 times have been very underwhelming. The pasta was ""very"" al dente, the veal was chewy and devoid of flavor and the 98 Pio Cesare was a plain old 2000 Barolo. They even tried to sell me on a 110 dollar of Fanti that I can pick up at Costco for 50. I will not be returning. Too bad. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Bad Wine List more

This place is fantastic! 5/5/2005

I've been to La Loggia four times in the last month and EVERY meal was fantastic. The service was exemplary, outstanding food, great bartender, extensive wine list (lots of stuff available that isn't on the list...just ask for a recommendation you can't go wrong!), warm and friendly ambiance. I can't recommend this place enough! Like a previous review stated ""from the moment you are greeted by Maurizio until they bid you good evening, you won't be disappointed. And for the record, I've never had a problem with credit card holds or issues with the tip! Run to this place it's wonderful! Pros: Excellent Service, Great Food, Good Value Cons: Can't think of any more

Think twice before going..... 4/25/2005

My friends and I went to dinner here the other night and I was certainly not impressed. Throughout the course of our dinner, we had 3 different waiters, we never received water refills, nor did they come around to refill our wine. The dinner was served and it was a good couple or minutes before grated cheese was offered for our pasta. The dirty dishes remained on the table well after the dinner was finished. After dessert we had to ask for the check 2 times and still were kept waiting. Lastly they feel the need to put a hold on your card of the cost of dinner plus the tip they feel they deserve, regardless of what you wish to tip. I don't think I will be visiting this restaurant ever again. more

Was expecting more... 2/26/2004

I went there to taste the food before renting the patio for private party. The place is romantic and very cozy. But it seemed like we had no waiter. So we finnaly got to order. But every time it was different person serving us and we had to get their attention. Maybe they do this to leave you alone and not feel bothered. But there was a basketball game on the tv by the bar and the waiters were watching that more than us. The food: It was four of us and 3 of us ordered pasta and one ordered 2 appetizers. The pasta special was not bad, but not anything more better than the Louises chain. The penne pasta from the menu was no big deal and not better than pasta I've had at Louises. The banana napoleon dessert was great. Will not be having our party there... Pros: Romatic, Cozy Cons: , Food not spectacular more

Continues to Be the Best... 3/19/2003

I dined here three years ago and had the best experience ever(great food, service)...yesterday I dined here again and nothing has changed...from the time Mauricio(the manager) greets you to when it's time to leave, you know you'll want to come back. Pros: great prices, awesome service more
