I signed my teenage son up for boxing as it seemed to be a good esteem building activity and while he enjoyed the gym, with summer and his school/summer travel schedule, we decided to put his membership on hold. We have been charged every month since and it has been six months. I have sent numerous emails with no response. The phone is rarely answered. And the only way to cancel membership is to reach the manager who is never there when we call.
My neighbor had the same experience, however, as she paid by credit card, she simply called the credit card company and got her money back.
I am going to see if bank will do the same with debit card, however, I suspect I am out of luck.
Too bad as I my son is now ready to go back and there is no way I am going to to let him! I feel ripped off!
