super service! Talented therapists! 3/26/2009

I had a massage and pedicure at this wonderful establishment and enjoyed ever second of it! Everyone was very kind and accomodating. The massage was heavenly, my therapist knew just how to work the knots out! And the pedicure was unlike any I have ever had. Lots of steps and different products. Love the natural polish too! The receptionist made sure I knew I could come early and stay late to relax. I did just that! Looking forward to coming back in June. Pros: Nice people, well trained therapists! Cons: the gal snoring on the lounge next to me! more

Love this place! 2/23/2009

We were overwhelmed by the sweet and talented staff at this spa! I live in Maui where there is no shortage of fine spa's and La Bonne Vie ranks among ours for sure! I had a 90 minute massage, and my best friend had the manicure and pedicure. We were in heaven, and wished we could get in the next day for more, but sadly they were full. We ate lunch in the cabana overlooking the ocean and it was incredible! My complements to the chef! The massage therapist steven has an amazing ability to heal. WOW. Pros: kind warm and geniune staff Cons: too far away for me to come more often :-( more

Best Body Treatment EVER! 2/10/2009

Everywhere I go I try the body treatment. The one I had at La Bonne Vie was truely the best ever. My gal, Britany was really good. She had a way about her that was comforting and friendly, but at the same time professional and the steps of the treatment were done perfectly. It was the Exquisite Body Treatment if you want to try it...I would definately recommend!! The receptionist (long blond, dont remember her name)was friendly too and asked me on three different occasions if I had everything I needed, she even poured my tea! I live in the bay area, but we will be back inthe summer and I look forward to my next visit! Thanks girls!! Pros: ambience, in a area I love to visit, the view Cons: none more

NOT WORTH THE MONEY or TIME! 1/12/2009

We had a not so pleasant experience at this spa & hotel. The spa is the size of a shoe box that's been decorated to look chic & expensive but it's just a tacky mess. The reception staff is rude, dull and humorless. My facial lady seemed fresh out of school and had no personality. My husband's massage was o.k. but far from exceptional, according to him. The walls are paper thin so you can hear people's conversations out in the waiting room and you can hear the receptionist answer the phone. It was pretty unprofessional for the amount of money they are trying to squeeze from you. We stayed at the Hotel that's affiliated with the spa and the overall service of the place was below average. The Hotel reception was decent but the spa & restaurant staff were way below luxury standards in our eyes. You definitely felt the "small town" mentality around that place and the service reflected the same feel. We didn't feel like we were getting pampered at a luxury resort in a small town. We felt like we were getting ripped off in a small town with no warmth, charm, uniqueness, or charisma. I was surprised because we had it in our minds that this place would prove to be a step up from the surrounding hotels BUT not so true! We will be staying in Paso Robles or Santa Barbara our next visit. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR TIME!! Pros: pretty sunset....but you can get that for free Cons: Aloof staff, below average service, inflated prices, poor quality services, lack of professionalism, no warmth from staff more

oh, aaaaaahhhhhhh 10/7/2008

Wow. what a great spa. I completely enjoyed myself! my facialist was thorough and sweet. She really listened to my needs and addressed them. No only that, but the face and shoulder AND FOOT massage was sooooo relaxing. She was my favorite (I love facials though...) but the manicurist and massage therapist were equally skilled and gave a lot of attention to everything I needed. I am going back next month to get another facial. She told me about a special facial that is like microdermabrasion but without all the irritation. Sounds so great that I booked it right away. Even though I would like to do a full spa day every week, I cant, but they made everything so easy and WORTH IT, that I am doing at least the "esperance" package every 3 months. (facials every 3 or 4 weeks--necessary maintenance). The receptionist was so helpful and let me linger after my treatments so I ordered a smoothie from the Lido restaurant and just soaked up as much of this great experience for as long as I could! The manager Zia even asked me how my visit was and talked with me for awhile! I love this place! My old salon wont see me again. This spa just has too much to offer and I really need my downtime- away from work, kids, you know...It feels like you are on vacation, but you only had to drive 10 minutes...love it love it love it! Pros: the cabana's, helpful staff, parking, ocean view.... Cons: couldn't stay long enough.... more

Most amazing massage...fantastic location 8/18/2008

Last weekend my sweetie sent me to the spa to de-stress. It was the best gift I have recieved in a long time! The staff at this spa are so freindly and genuine. They check in to make sure I had everything I needed, let me know I could order lunch, (I ordered a juice smoothie...great idea) and told me not to hurry out after my massage. I complied and sat outside staring at the beautiful view of the ocean. My massage was a slice of heaven, not only did the therapist put a hot pack on my back to loosen up the muscles before working them into submission ;-), but also warm towels were used on my feet. The little extra's at this spa amount to a great amount of pleasure. I truely enjoyed every minute. Pros: parking, location, great people. Cons: cant think of any... more

Horrible Experience!! Keep driving past this place to the nearest REAL spa! 7/16/2008

My girlfriend and I had services at this spa during 4th of July weekend and WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! Not only were are appointments booked wrong (incorrect times & services) but the girl who explained to us what had happen to our appointments was rude and sarcastic and blamed us for the mishap. To make matters worse, while I was using the restroom I over heard her call me a rich bit**h. When I came to the front desk there was a new girl who was very sweet and pleasant. I asked to speak with the manager and it was the same sarcastic girl from before. I expressed to her our unhappiness with the situation and she showed no remorse or hospitality. She just said "sorry" coldly. After we changed into our robes, we tried to forget the whole thing by relaxing in the lounge but all we could hear was the same girl talking to another girl about what had happen to our appointments previously. They really should find another place for the relaxation area instead of being in the same room as the receptionist. All we could hear in between our conversations was; typing, printing and ringing phones. Luckily, we enjoyed 2 out of our 4 services. My facial was great and my friends massage was great. The girl's name I think were Jessica & Stacie. Other than that the other services were mediocre and the other staff, except the cute little blonde girl who helped us, were rude, unprofessional and basically acted like everything we asked for was a task for them to do. We ordered lunch and the so-called "manager" came out and told us that our lunches were not included in our packages??? We didn't even have packages! The nice receptionist told her she had the wrong clients and she just walked away from us, not even an apology. HELLO, isn't this supposed to be a luxury spa? It felt more like a low-budget spa off the strip in Las Vegas. NOT RECOMMENDED. If you've never been to a spa maybe this would suffice but if you want to be pampered don't go here. Pros: Jessica & Stacie, that's it! Cons: Booking, Reception Staff, cramped quarters, small spa, noisy relaxation lounge. EVERYTHING more

BELLISSIMO! HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! 5/28/2008

I was there for memorial day weekend and had a blast! I had a facial with Jessica and she was fantastic. I felt so relaxed in my facial that I almost forgot where I was. She's very knowledgeable and sweet. I also had a massage with Amy who was an absolute delight. I felt so relaxed afterward that I didn't want to leave. I received the kindest and warmest welcome from all the girls. Edan she was so sweet and welcoming. She offered me anything and everything I needed, I felt like a true princess. I will definitely come back and visit the spa and most importantly the great staff. Pros: Great Staff, Beautiful View & Great Products Cons: Small Spa, No Steam or Sauna, and little noisy more

lovely spa, great people! 4/28/2008

I frequent spa's locally and when on vacation and La Bonne Vie is one of the very best I've ever had the pleasure to visit. I'm thrilled to have such a world-class spa close to home. (I felt like I was on vacation with the amazing ocean view, and professional staff) My massage was incredible and pedicure, though longer than most was absolutely decadent. I am going back in 2 weeks for a facial!!! (and massage of course). Pros: everything Cons: only one thing...I wish the reception desk was a little further from the lounge. more
