Review content:
We had a not so pleasant experience at this spa & hotel. The spa is the size of a shoe box that's been decorated to look chic & expensive but it's just a tacky mess. The reception staff is rude, dull and humorless. My facial lady seemed fresh out of school and had no personality. My husband's massage was o.k. but far from exceptional, according to him. The walls are paper thin so you can hear people's conversations out in the waiting room and you can hear the receptionist answer the phone. It was pretty unprofessional for the amount of money they are trying to squeeze from you. We stayed at the Hotel that's affiliated with the spa and the overall service of the place was below average. The Hotel reception was decent but the spa & restaurant staff were way below luxury standards in our eyes. You definitely felt the "small town" mentality around that place and the service reflected the same feel. We didn't feel like we were getting pampered at a luxury resort in a small town. We felt like we were getting ripped off in a small town with no warmth, charm, uniqueness, or charisma. I was surprised because we had it in our minds that this place would prove to be a step up from the surrounding hotels BUT not so true! We will be staying in Paso Robles or Santa Barbara our next visit. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!
Pros: pretty sunset....but you can get that for free
Cons: Aloof staff, below average service, inflated prices, poor quality services, lack of professionalism, no warmth from staff
