My RV broke down on the side of I77 mile marker 26.5 on my trip from Orlando, Florida to Whitby, Ontario, Canada at 6:45 am on Friday September 2, 2011. Oh no it's the Labor Day ...

Worst

They are slow and don't really have idea about repair, they charge like professional repair service 90$/hour, I'll not recommend to any!!!

Saved my entire trip! 9/4/2011

My RV broke down on the side of I77 mile marker 26.5 on my trip from Orlando, Florida to Whitby, Ontario, Canada at 6:45 am on Friday September 2, 2011. Oh no it's the Labor Day Long Weekend! I'll never find anyone to fix this vehicle and get me back on the road today. I'll have to spend the whole long weekend in Beckley West Viginia, half way through my trip. But nope - I called Lewis Terminal Garage. They recommended Glen's towing and sent them out to get me - at 7:00 am on a Friday morning! What were they even doing at work that early? I didn't care I was just so grateful that they were. We got to the shop by 8:00 am and they took my RV right in! Can you believe it - right in! They spent some time looking over it and determined what was wrong. They called my warranty office, explained the situation, got approval to repair it and called for the part. I couldn't believe my luck when the part happened to be in stock and delivered by 1:00 pm. They set to work and immediately repaired my RV and the bill was shockingly low. I was surprised that such fast efficient service was so reasonably priced. By 2:30 pm I was back on the road and heading off to Canada. These guys were wonderful and even had a small lounge with a TV to occupy my 2 kids while we waited. They're even located beside a shopping mall where we had lunch and browsed away some of our time. I cannot tell you how happy I am with the service, kindness and courtesy I received from Lewis Terminal Garage. I have read other reviews on this site. I wonder how much of the "unhappiness" with the service wasn't because of the garage, but because of the situation these unfortunate travellers found themselves in. I'm sure if you have the unfortunate experience to suffer a breakdown and you put your irritation on the back-burner and let these guys do their job, you will be as satisfied as I was. more

Lewis Terminal Garage- Biggest Rip Off in West Virginia. 6/16/2011

I'm from Missouri and broke down near Beckly West Virginia over Memorial Day Weekend. My truck was towed to Lewis Terminal and I rented a motel for two days until they reopened on Tuesday.||[]When I checked with them on Tuesday, they said my truck started right up and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I insisted, there must be a problem since it had to be towed in two days earlier.||[]I asked them to check the fuel pump, alternator and anything else they thought might have caused the problem. They were busy and didn't seem to want to look at my vehicle again but I was afraid to drive it. ||[]After several hours delay, they put it back on the rack, replaced the fuel filter (I believe just to get rid of me), charged me $87.96 for the filter and labor plus a $79.00 tow bill and sent me on my way. I hadn't driven 200 miles when the engine died again.||[]This time I was able to locate a Ford dealer. They told me the alternator was bad and replaced it. Since then I've driven it over 2300 miles and no sign of a problem.||[]As for Lewis Terminal, I think they prey on travelers and should not be allowed to operate. more

Poor workmanship and terrible customer service! 7/1/2010

We took our motor home here to have new rear brakes installed since they failed as we were traveling through the city of Beckley. Their service department was very rude, but we were desperate and allowed them to do the work and replace the brakes. A few, short months later, the brake warning light came on so we took it to our "local, reliable, professional" engine shop. Low and behold, Lewis Terminal's workman had left the "old" brake pad on the wheel and it had worked it's way down in between the brake...basically causing us to replace the rear brakes once again. When I called Lewis Terminal to report this, I was told they would do nothing to stand behind their work. I feel as though we were taken advantage of since we were from out of town. Poor customer service and shoddy work...what a nice combination! more
