I used to go to Kuni's pretty frequently until I realized how much money it was costing me. Their sushi and sashimi are very fresh. I love their salmon sashimi. I've also had the miso soup, seaweed salad and sunomono, all of which were tasty although I wouldn't say they stand out from any other place (which I realize isn't the easiest thing to do for these dishes). Their tonkatsu was kind of a disappointment as the pork had a funny texture. I would stick to the sushi and/or sashimi. They have a pretty good selection of sake to complement the meal as well. I've never had a bad experience with their service although they can sometimes be slow. The prices are pretty high although I don't really remember what it's like for the non-sushi items. As for the ambience, it's pretty brightly-lit for dinner, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I know lots of Japanese restaurants do this. One thing I do like, however, is that the noise level is always pretty low even when most of the tables are filled.
