Worst

Very dirty, with insects on the tables, toilets dirty. Manager, gray hair, short, with glasses in the 40-50s, very unfriendly, unable to smile, a kind of redneck with strange look...

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/27/2013

I had to Join this site and write a review for Kouri's Pub. I have been a customer at the Pub for over 20 years. Way back when Kenny and Jimmy were bartending at the old place. I didn't want to see them move but times change and for awhile I thought it would be okay. Well it isn't. The food and atmosphere have gone way down. The help they have now is the worst the area has to offer. Overpriced bad food and drinks are what you will get. They got rid of one of the best bartenders in town, Kevin, and the place has proceeded to go downhill since. Notice the regulars have left also. We have found other places to spend our money. Kevin was the life blood of that place and made sure if you had a problem it was taken care of. He also cleaned out the gangs from the new place. Now you are lucky if the help recognizes you or even remembers that you are a regular. Kevin and his crew knew everyone's name, made sure he thanked you and felt personally bad if something happened to make your visit unpleasant and would make every attempt to fix whatever problem... Unfortunately it is not like that now. Too bad. Kouri's Pub is an example of bad management and greed for money. Take a page from the regulars, find another place to spend your cash. more

Kouri's Pub in Pekin, IL Great Place to eat! 2/16/2012

I can honestly give Kouri's Pub in Pekin, IL a very good review. Their food is awesome and inexpensive. Their Philly Steak and Cheese is extremely good and their boneless chicken wings are very good. The wings come in hot, medium, mild, honey bbq and several other sauces. I have not had a bad sandwich there yet, they are all good, their catfish strips are really good, ribeye steak sandwich is awesome. There is an outdoor patio that is heated so you can sit out there in the winter and you can also smoke out there which is a plus in our book because there isn't any other pub around where you can still smoke. They have a wide variety of different beer, mixed drinks, fancy drinks. I can a sure you you won't be disappointed and will have a good time with your friends and family! Enjoy more

bad place, dirty, insects on the table, unfriendly manager 4/15/2009

I been in this place once or twice. Tables were not clean, I saw insects, and toliets were kind of dirty. A guy who looked as manager - late 40s-50s, gary haired, glasses, short - was not able to smile, and had a kind of red neck attitude. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody traveling to Peoria. There are many other way better places in Peoria for food and friendly environment. I was very disapointed, specially with that manager's attitude. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: Toilets dirty, insects on the table, unfriendly manager more

One of the better sports bars and gathering places in the area 10/5/2008

I have been going to Kouri's Pub a couple of times a week for years. They just moved a block up the street and the move seemed stressfull for all. Thanks to the staff, they have kept their regulars and brought in new patrons. They now have 18 new high-def bigscreen tv's and redid the place nicely. A little more work and they should be finished. The food is good and the service is excellent. They treat everyone like family. I agree with kourisgirl thoughts on Jay. I've never known Kevin to intentionally ignore someone wether they tip or not. And I've never heard him brag about his ""fighting skills"". If someone asks he answers honestly. Usually he tries not to have it talked about. He has always been very friendly and tries to make time for each person. He either knows you by name or what you drink and has always said hello and goodbye to all and most importantly...he says Thank You. Jay, if you felt ignored it was because other patrons were trying to talk to him. Or maybe you were being an a** and he had to ask you to leave. As in most places you always get someone that gets out of line and he has always taken care of it quickly and profesionally and as far as I have seen with none of his ""fighting stuff"" you talked about. That's one of the reasons I feel I can take my family there and feel safe. As for hitting on the ladies, well his daughter works there and I am sure she and his wife would strongly disagree. Yeah, the ladies must like his belly....lol. All in all, if your looking for good food a friendly atmosphere and place where you can enjoy yourself.....Try Kouri's. And make sure Kevin is there and you will enjoy it more! Pros: The staff, the TV's, food, oh yeah and Kevin Cons: They are supposed to have the new beer garden done and they need to get rid of the square bar more

homey atmosphere 8/30/2008

I have never had anything short of a great time and great experience at Kouri's Pub in Peoria. I know Kevin very well and think Jay either a) has a man crush and got turned down b) is jealous that he can't fight and has no exceptional skills or c) Kevin beat him up. As far as the bartenders paying more attention to their lady friends than Jay-probably he is a horrible tipper. Regular customers are on a first name basis with the staff only perpetuating the friendly home town atmosphere. The food is delicious and I challenge you to find a better ribeye sandwich anywhere else. Jay- instead of picking on other people you should work on your own personality and maybe people will like you better. Pros: Ambience, Service, Food, Drinks, Staff Cons: Parking more

People looking for good service beware. 5/22/2008

I used to think that Kourie's was a great place to go, untill the service started to decline. I must say when the bartenders take more time helping there ego by trying to appease their lady friends than actually serving even there regular customers, something is not right. Kevin being the worst of this has often been found boasting of his fighting skills. I hope for the owner's sake something is done about this. Pros: Good Food Cons: bad service more

Best Sports Bar in Peoria 2/17/2006

Kouri's has a great Beer Garden in the summer months. It's a good place to meet friends and family. The food is excellent and the help is always happy to see you. The bartenders Kevin and Pat make the place. Both are fun and entertaining and serve some of the best dinks this side of the Mississippi. My recomendation is when in town stop and enjoy the place more
