Yes, get everything in writing with these guys. I purchased a trailblazer and while on the lot they claimed someone took the 3rd brake light. Promise to get me one in the next week well it has been 2 months and nothing, meanwhile my back carpet is getting wet among other things. It off to we will go. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS more

Quality Workmanship (little expensive) 5/2/2012

In September 2010 my 74 year old mom's 2000 dodge van engine threw a rod through the block while on a trip to the Cleveland area. Kirtland Auto towed her van in and gave her a ride to a car rental company. They found a used scrap yard engine and installed it for her. When she called me and told me where the van was I immediately looked for reviews and after reading some of them i was very worried that my mom was going to get ripped off and end up with a piece of crap. However when i flew into Cleveland to pick up her van I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the workmanship. I have 25 years experience working on my own cars and company trucks so i knew what i was looking at. they had just finished installing the engine when i arrived and still had about 4 hours of work to do on but it was obviously not hob-cobbled together. the wiring harness' were unplugged and plugged back together. Nothing had been cut or torn up. I was Impressed and very happy with the quality of the work. I drove the van from there to Canada (500 miles) with no problems. I left there 3 days later and drove it with my mother to FL. It has been there and back again and with the exception of regular oil changes I have yet to put oil in it and it has been driven around 15,000 with the new engine. The only issue I have is that I feel they are a little pricey but I have found that in a situation like this I would rather pay up front than down the road. more

crappy employer 3/9/2012

I used to know a guy who worked for Bill, He is a real piece of work, driving around in his Rovers pampering his fat evil wife, all the while making his employees work with no benefits no sick time not even vacation time, he will not even pay overtime (which in this area is a crime regulated by the government, and yes he has been turned in multiple times). When child support tried telling him by law he had to deduct money from one guys paycheck his wife said ""oh we don't do that here"" the child support woman was not very happy since they have to, and after threatening charges he complied... I would not recommend Doing business with this man. He buys his cars from auctions, puts junk parts in them and flips them as fast as he can. His employees are perfectly competent, good hard trustworthy workers, problem is at the end of the day they are his employees and they have to do what he says, use the parts he orders, and screw the people he decides won't fight back. Steer clear of billy ray unless you need a tow, but beware if his drivers look intoxicated, a few are pretty sketchy.... more

Good service 8/6/2011

I have read the reviews here and it is a shame that folks have had the problems that they have reported. I have dealt with Lee each time I worked with the company. He is very nice, follows up and I have no problems with him at all. My first experience with Kirtland was my having an engine shipped to them and having them install it into my 2004 Mitsubishi Endevour. ; no problems. They even picked up the car for free and the job was done timely and with no problems. I am about to pickup the car now for its second visit; they replaced breaks and caliburs on the same car. I would do business with them again more

Read the review's before you buy here DO NOT SHOP HERE 9/14/2010

The other review is 100% correct we purchaced a car from him and paid cash and when the title arrived come to find out that it was a salvage/rebuild whitch to me is junk and resale value is trashed so now everything is happeing to this car (check engine, abs went out, airbag light)the dash board looks like a christmas tree and the car only has 25k the problem is that it was totaled out car and who knows what happened to it so i'am stuck with this car and out all my money, do not shop here. I will be seeling legal advise because it is a law that you must disclose that a vehical has a salvage title. more

Use extreme caution when doing business with Bill Ray and Kirtland Auto Center! 1/22/2009

Be very careful if you must deal with Kirtland Auto Center. Make sure that everything is clearly in writing and any warranty is also written. This business owner has many unhappy customers! If you are considering purchasing a car from them, either off the lot or by auction, again make sure everything is understood in writing before you give them any money. Also, make sure to have the vehicle that you are intending to buy inspected by another body or mechanical expert!!! Pros: Some nice people work there, that's about it! Cons: Read my review more
