I celebrated my birthday their today. I enjoyed the atmosphere it made me feel as if I were in Hawaii. The food was great! I think the Maui onion rings were too good. The portions are large and had to bring 1\2 home. We brought a chocolate banana supreme pie home. We thought we had died and gone to Hawaii so so good. We can't wait to visit you again. more

Bakery better than Restaurant 1/3/2010

I love Hawaiian food and been wanting to try this place every time I'm in the area. It's always so crowded and I usually end up just grabbing goodies from the bakery because the wait is forever! We finally made it to a table one night and I was conflicted on what to order as they have a variety of dishes to choose from. The service was excellent, our waitress was very friendly and attentive to my dehydrated friend that refilled on coke about 6 times throughout our dinner. Between the 3 of us, the combo entrees were a hit or miss. Overall, it was good, I guess I was just expecting better. For the value, I think I prefer the to go version of King's, The Local Place, located not too far from here. Pros: Great Service more

Wonderful bakery with a cozy restaurant attached 11/10/2006

Having grown up on King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread, having my wedding cake baked here was a real treat. Their guava chiffon cake in two tiers with a yellow plumeria lei made of butter cream draped across the cake was just beautiful for our small ceremony. Everyone loved the cake, and they even delivered all the way to Los Angeles (near Dodger Stadium). We often visit the restaurant to just get a taste of Hawaiian local dishes. There are more and more restaurants popping up around town that tout themselves as ""Hawaiian"", but we always enjoy a visit to King's for an authentic local atmosphere. Pros: Lots of parking, great bakery Cons: can get busy more

Remember the Bakery! 7/11/2006

The restaurant food is tasty, with generous portion sizes, and the Paradise cake is really good. But don't forget to stop in the bakery on your way out. In addition to the King's Hawaiian Bread (in many incarnations), there are delicious pastries. I had a Florentine and brought home a Strawberry Eclair. Both were wonderful, and the filling in the eclair was still good two days later after being refrigerated. more
